Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul 136 is released and is the recommended version. I'll keep the 1.35a version up for a while, but will probably hide it later on to avoid confusion regarding versions. Many thanks to WalkerInShadows for taking over the reins of OOO!

* Fixed the model for the tarnished Imperial Legion helm so it shows up properly.

* Fixed the mesh for the perfect pearl (it was using the flawless pearl mesh).

* Fixed the missing textures for most of the meteoric arrows (the ones that needed it).

* Fixed the missing meshes/textures/icons for hellhound skin and mazken skin.

* Fixed the missing jaguar textures.

* Fixed the dead Dragonborn Knight outside Goblin Jim's Cave who was buried in the ground.

Due to the BSA format and it's overlap with other mods (most notably COBL and Mart's Monster Mod) it's essential that all previous versions and resource files of OOO are completely removed prior to the install of version 1.35

Failure to do so will result in many missing files and erroneous installation.

Listed are the major alterations and additions that have been made since version 1.34 beta5.

We've included a couple of new surprises. Don't want to spoil anything, but you'll find them during the course of your adventures.

General changes and additions include:

•A completely new quest by Shadowborn. Without giving away too much, the quest is designed for mid-level characters. It involves the Knights of the Dragonborn and the various Goblin Tribes.

•A large selection of unique rewards for killing Gargoyles. Finally some well-deserved rewards can be gained if you are brave enough to defeat these powerful monsters. Huge thanks to bg2408 for this.

•Additional in-game hints, clues, and lore related to the some of the unique static items you can find. Thanks to Dazu in relation to SunChild.

•Massive corrections to the spelling and grammar in the books, notes, and other texts added by OOO. Huge thanks to Dazu for this.

•Support for Knights of the Nine. Adapted from FCOM_Knights, this optional plugin rebalances KotN with stronger enemies, OMOBS weapon stats, and resolves conflicts with the quest rewards.

•PyFFI mesh optimizations and BSA resources! Resources optimized and moved into a BSA file! This involves a huge amount of work and testing to get the BSA working properly, including fixes for texture paths, missing mipmaps, and various mesh properties. See separate change list below for details.

•Light of Dawn sword scripts now include better detection of player vampire status.

•Removed debug comments from LapDrunkScript.

•Additional improvements for Carla Du Vrey and Hindaril.

•Additional script fixes for AMIW.

•OMOBS fixes and tweaks by BFG99.

Changes related to the BSA conversion include:

• New BSA format which includes all Textures, Meshes and Sounds.

•Changed mesh and texture paths to avoid overlaps with Martigen's Monster Mod for some creatures used in both mods.

•Added mipmaps to all "worn" armor textures.

•Fixed bad texture path in the "unfinished steel" cuirass meshes.

•Renamed the "unfinished steel" armor meshes to "cuirass.nif".

•Includes PyFFI mesh optimizations by HawkerT. Optimizations include: architecture, clutter, dungeons, harvest, RD, Rocks, va, Weapons.

•Added mipmaps and removed unused alpha channels from defensive staffs; removed transparency settings from NIF properties on the staffs that don't use transparency.

•New ESM/ESP is included due to changes in "unfinished steel" armor mesh paths. Plus a cleanup of many armour models.

-Optional No deadric items esp. Self explanatory.

-A few little surprises in the form of new enemies.

-Minor fixes and alterations, many of which details I've forgotten

Manual Install

1. Extract this archive to any folder and then copy the contents to Oblivion's Data folder.

2. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, and enable the Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.esp file(s).

Installing the Mod

1. Extract the archive to any other folder.

2. Copy the extracted archive to [install Path]\Oblivion\OBMM\Mods\

3. Start Oblivion Mod Manager

4. Click the Create button

5. Click the Add Archive button, navigate to the archive and select it, then click the Yes button.

6. Click the Create OMOD button, wait until it finishes, then click the Ok button

Activating the Mod

1. Start Oblivion Mod Manager

2. Double-click the name of the mod in the right-hand side of the OBMM screen, once installed the mod icon will turn blue

BAIN Install

1. Copy the entire archive into your Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers folder.

2. In Wrye Bash Installers tab, highlight the new archive.

3. Check any sub-folders, ESP/ESM's as required.

4. Right click the archive name and Install.

5. In Wrye Bash Mods tab, check the ESP/ESM's and rebuild Bashed patch. (Also recommended to run BOSS first).

Harvest Flora version 3.01 is also included in the archive. BOSS is recommended at all times to sort your load order, but ensure the file loads after the OOO esp to avoid the known crash issue with the harrada plant.

Living Economy - Consider using Enhanced Economy instead as Living Economy has some issues, for example the 65 K bug which means that sometimes when a merchant has quite little money left when you sell something, the merchant suddenly receives around 65000 gold to barter for, instead of 0. Enhanced Economy is issue free, has many more features, is compatible with mod added items and completely customizable. Requires OBSE.

Level Rates Modified - Skill level rates are c. 3x slower in OOO than in the original game on default. but users might want to consider using Fundament instead http://oblivion.nexu....com/mods/41005

Updating your save to 1.35

It's advised to wait out your game respawn (default 3 game days) away from all creatures and npc's. One way is to use the console "coc testinghall" then return using "coc Weye"

there are so many files like deadly combat etc that should be included, but it's seperate in the addon download. This is so confusing, so is it in this the full version or not?

I extracted all the files to my oblivion data folder. The started oblivion launcher->Data Files->Checked everything in there..

Then when i start the game i don't see any difference, that means the mod is not installed.. How do i know if it's installed or not? What have i done wrong during the installationg?

Same problem. I have been installing-reinstalling this mod and I have been using all the methods(OBMM, Manual, Bain) but never got it working completely. When I install it through Bain some of the esp files are red and some are green. Also the game crashes after playing a while. I have reverted back my game to vanilla and hope I get some more info on this.

I find it really annoying that I could not find any description for the addons whatsoever, so I was left wondering what each of those addons .esp could do and that discouraged me from using OOO altogether.

Will there be a patch for this version? I have one guard in the waterfront with a helmet that has no mesh, and sometimes an invisible jaguar from this mod. Other then those two things everything else seems fine.

The file "OOO135BSA.7zip" is IMPOSSIBLE to download! I've tried 3 times already and every single time it stops downloading around about 370 MB out of 405 MB and marks it as "complete", thus resulting in a corrupt file. Can someone please provide a mirror or a torrent for this mod? I'm not going to waste another hour or so just to get another corrupt file. I'm using Google Chrome if that means anything. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Have tried again with Firefox and again with Google Chrome tonight but no difference. Chrome download stopped at 356 MB - where did the other 49 MB go??? :stare:

It's taken me a few days to get key mods installed and I found 1.3.5 just recently. Thanks for all the work.

As another posted, am figuring 1.3.5 is the Full OOO with the Add ons as ways to change it (such as level adjustment from normal).

In the scope of balance, I like the wounding feature but how can it either be removed (from all NPCs) or a way to balance it and add its effects to the PC (and any companions). It should work both ways. In another game, repeated wounds weaken the character (PC party members or monsters) and could cause death (even if some health remained).

I have a problem though, I'm trying to download the OOO135BSA.7z file, but all I get is a 275mb file that says its damaged when I try to open the thing?

If I could be pointed in the direction of the complete file that would be immense!!

Anybody having trouble downloading any big files, use Opera web browser, when the DL times out hit the resume button in the top left, this continues the DL.

Worked for me and will hopefully for you too!

Unless there's been an update quite recently (I just downloaded 1.35... last week I think?), it would appear that the meshes and textures for the "Tarnished Imperial Horseman Helmet" are missing from the BSA. The 1.35 esm (as well as older versions) indicates it should be located at "armor\legionhorsebackguardElhoim". Meaning both the nifs and textures.

I just dug out my old 1.33 version and I've found everything located there. It would have been an easy resource to miss as it doesn't appear to be used too often.

Great work on the update by the way! You fixed a couple things I'd fixed in my own personal install. I only recently found out about the update. I need to drop by here more often!! :)

All currently known incompatibilities and patches if available can be found on the FCOM wiki

As OOO is the core of FCOM anything mentioned there is applicable to Oscuro's.

I will stay with OOO 1.34, i wish there was a OMOD version, or something similar, like the 1.34 version, there was a friendly-user installation, explaining all the addons and stuff... Till then, im not installing it.

I created an omod version of the optional AddOns + missing icons, with a script to select only wanted components. I included only the addons that aren't already included in the full version, to avoid confusion. It can be downloaded here (I'll remove the link if this isn't approved).

Great work guys, any reason you haven't uploaded this to the OOO page on the tesnexus?

 

I would love to update, but I just got my game fairly stable with 1.34b and MMM and I would probably just mess everything up if I tried updating now. It would probably be a good idea to make it common knowledge that this exists.

One note on the readme it doesn't state whether Living Economy is installed default in this version. I used this mod for a while and just assumed I was getting the effects of Living Economy by default in the Oscuro mod files. Maybe a slight change on the download pages readme so people know for sure that they have to install a economy mod on their own as one is not included.

 

Thanks a million for this mod and the work you guys do I swear the adventures I have in Oscuro are more fun than any other game I've ever played even to this day. For review so far I haven't encounter a single bug on a heavily modded game. I'm about level 12 and am still struggling to survive when in these dungeons and still have to watch my every step. Can't say enough good things about this mod, one minute your adventuring through a cave, the next your saving an adventurer from an ambush of bandits only to watch him loot all the chests before you.

Hey guys I have a quick question, I am trying to install this via BAIN, but it says to install the archive. Which archive? when i click on download there's like 4-5 of them. which one am i supposed to put inside the bash installers folder?
