Download Middle-Earth RolePlaying (MERP)

MERP is a project that aims to reproduce Tolkien's Middle-Earth in the Oblivion engine. The heightmap itself is more than four times bigger than Oblivion's. Right now, the mod is still in beta but we release our work once or twice a year to recruit new modders and simply please the people who want to see the progress.

This release 0.2.4 contains only landscapes. There are no NPCs nor quests. Some of the included areas:
- Minas Tirith
- Mirkwood
- a big part of western Middle-Earth
Also included in a separate esp are some new armors and weapons.

Which files should I get?
Needed:
- MERP ESM, the core esm of the mod.
- MERP Meshes, the meshes used in the mod.
- MERP Files, the patch and the smaller esm.
Optional:
- Minas Tirith_far, if your graphic card is powerful, get those models to see Minas Tirith for afar.
- MERP LOD, the distant landscapes for Middle-Earth. Using it is recommended for a good experience. For now, please get it from FileFront. Note: you can also generate the LOD yourself using TES4LODgen or TES4qLOD.
- MERP ESPs, two optional mods; the first adds an altar in Chorrol which will grant you travel spells to Middle-Earth and back; the second adds a chest in Minas Tirith that contains various armours and weapons.
