In the aftermath of the Oblivion crisis, the Emperor is dead and no apparent heir will be named. The Blades, having served the Septim line for centuries, find themselves without an Emperor and without a cause to serve, and so they return to an ancient purpose.

Cyrodiil has been saved and the last son of the Septim line has ascended into the heavens. With the passing of time, life in the Imperial City resumes its normal candor and The Champion of Cyrodiil fades into anonymity…until a messenger arrives. Blade Captain Steffan has requested your return to Cloud Ruler Temple. He needs your help to escort a small party of Holymen to the Ruins of Sancre Tor. Seems a simple task; Steffan warns the journey is treacherous one, but if you are successful a new path may opened before you.

Thunder rolls overhead, the horses knicker nervously as you prepare to make the long journey to Sancre Tor. As the heavy storm clouds blot out the sky overhead, Captain Steffan catches your eye and smiles gratefully with a nod. The seasoned Blade foresees a dangerous road ahead and is obviously relieved to have a second blade along. As you mount your steed, the animal shakes the rain water out of its heavy mane. The four holymen appear from the Great Hall of Cloud Ruler Temple and begin to chant nervously. Steffan takes the lead and you close the holymen between you protectively as you weave your way down the mountain. Lightning flashes and on the distant road you see an unusual flicker of light. Someone is waiting for you in the darkness.

Bandits harry your party all along the road to Sancre Tor; with quick thinking and a quicker blade, you manage to keep them at bay. The holymen are exhausted but alive and well when the ruins at Sancre Tor finally come into view. No longer the ancient relic of a fortress you remember from months before, a vibrant living city has sprung up around it, reclaimed at last as a holy place and the new focal point for Blade affairs in Tamriel. Within the gray stone walls you find an army of Blades from across the Providences, living and working as one. Steffan offers you his hand and his thanks for your help with his escort detail, but the smile fades from his lips as he reads your expression. In your mind you wonder, with so many Blades so close at hand, why would Steffan send for you? Why would he require your help? The Blade Captain nods intuitively, "I know what you're thinking," he says evenly, "and you're right. There's another reason you've been called to Sancre Tor..."

Reclaiming Sancre Tor is an in-depth story based expansion pack that adds hundreds of new characters, overlapping quests, new worlds, and multiple unique dungeon levels to the original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion RPG by Bethesda Softworks. The story surrounds a contingent of Blades from Morrowind who have reclaimed the ancient ruins of Sancre Tor in the aftermath of the Oblivion crisis. The player is invited to join their ranks and must aid the Blades in serving the Empire as well as unraveling their own destiny.

I'm not sure I have installed It correctly, I used obmm to unpack the bsa files into my date folder but when I start the game up I get no quest prompt or am I suppose to go to cloud temple to start It ?

RST doesn't start until you collect the Imperial Dragon Armor from the Imperial City post vanilla MQ. Once you have the armor you need to leave the city and stay in the exterior world for 3-4 minutes before a messenger tags you with your instructions. :good:

From what I've played of your Reclaiming Sancre Tor mod, it's incredible. The best I've seen yet.

I just have one concern about it.

After officially joining the Blades, I've noticed when checking the factions that the Champion of Cyrodiil title had been removed. Now I know that the Head Grandmaster made it clear that they weren't impressed by the title and its political ramifications, but what I want to know is, who are they to strip the title from him/her? As Jauffree had pointed out during the Main Quest, the Blades "are not an arm of the government" and therefore have no authority to remove any titles awarded to the Champion by the legitimate government (or rather, what's left of it.) That would be like the Head of the CIA (to which the Blades are assuming a similar role from what I've seen so far) stripping a soldier or civilian of his Presidential Medal of Honor awarded to him by the President of the United States just because he didn't agree that said soldier or civilian deserved it. Although the Blades' Headmasters may not accept the player as the Champion, as far as Chancellor Ocato and the Imperial Council are concerned, (s)he is the Champion of Cyrodiil, officially and legally. Another point to this is that the Order of the Dragon, to which the Champions are inducted into, was founded by Tiber Septim, who also founded the Blades. If the Blades revere Tiber Septim so much, how can they have a problem with a position that he created? By stripping a Champion of his title without due authority, wouldn't that be a form of disrespect to Tiber Septim? And even if the Champion is humble and doesn't think much about the title, the title is still his/hers, whether (s)he likes it or not.

Maybe I'm getting a little too much into this, but I just thought I'd express this concern. Other than that, this is a very well made mod. I'm looking forward to the finished version.

Storywise the idea is to strip away your former life and induct you into a new one, its a choice the player makes in joining the Blades to cast aside all that they were and begin like every other raw recruit. Aside from that, it was sort of immersion breaking to constantly have everyone hailing and cheering players as the Champion of Cyrodiil when they are supposed to be a covert spy for the Blades. :lmao:

I'll consider adding the rank back at the end of RST's MQ just for player stat happiness, but for RST's storyline, it's much more immersive without that title around your neck and the NPC reactions it produces.

Reclaiming Sancre Tor is, in my opinion, one of the top five (Oblivion adventure) mods of all time. It has earned a proud place with Heart of the Dead, Tears of the Fiend, Integration: the Stranded Light (my all time favorite), Verona House Bloodlines, the Lost Spires, Blood and Mud Deluxe, and the Golden Crest. I am 1/2 way thru the main quest, (v1.0.3 esp). RST has engaging side stories that neatly blend with the overarching main story. The quests, the lore, the variety, the sense of danger, risk, and reward all blend almost seamlessly to create an experience well worth playing. The few bugs still present are very minor. Darkrider and his team have done a superb job of crafting a fitting extension to the story of the Blades as they grapple with 'claiming' their place in the opening years of the 4th Age. What a ride! And what an appropriate send off as many of us time warp to a future Skyrim.

29 Oct 2011: Specifics begin with a new village of Sancre Tor built in a mix of Imperial (rich) and Bruma (working class) styles. The old ruin is (mostly?) restored as the new Blades HQ. Many new and visually appealing places, waterfalls, food, dojo, library, tombs, etc. Clever quests introduce player to both the village and the HQ. From here it gets so much better. The main quest (v1.0.3 esp) has, so far, includes breathtaking visuals, clever plots, reasonable puzzles and traps,. The boss battles require some thinking, listening (to NPCs) and planning to win. Player will not prevail relying solely on hack and slash tactics. But decent gear is still really helpful. If you play with darker dungeons, find a way to get some coin to purchase torches. The ice caverns have visuals that just seem like real ice. A number of cut scenes enhance immersion. The Champion of Cyrodiil will not coast on her/his title. I am beginning to wonder if I am worthy enough to earn a place among the Blades? Will I even survive? Something is afoot....

I just finished this mod, I am so happy I put off playing Uncharted 3 until I was done this, it was so worth the wait!
Excellent work, I think even after Skyrim is out, I will be keeping this updated for play!
