Thanks guys! Greenie gave me the idea with the RedBag Fog add-on she's been using lately; though I'm not one to say "Morrowind did it better" in every respect, it certainly did a few things better (admittedly still subjectively) and the shorter viewing distance was one of them: to my eyes it both looks better as well as giving the landscape a more "epic" sense of proportion due to maintaining a bit of an air of mystery about exactly where you're headed.

So using RedBag's mod as inspiration, I set about the various All Natural and Enhanced Weather "forecasts" and modified them accordingly, albeit with about 20% less viewing distance as a matter of personal taste. I've no doubt I missed a few, but there's a lot less missing than there was, happily!
