A betrayed tribesman rightful leader who goes to civilized lands to learn and gain weapons to take back his birthright, and who is later sidetracked by the movie industry and becomes an actor. One day perhaps his acting skills shall come in handy. Thats my first idea. A brutish tribesman turned charismatic movie star revolutionist.

Oasis is pretty dang fun, especially for Reinhardt mainers, since it encourages people to brawl in the point and people try hiding on the sides in small corridors. Perfect for clean sweeping with a hammer, lol.

It's definitely anti-McCarthyism era America and the anti Red Scare America. Which Fallout cranks all the way up to 100, in both the Communism fear and pro-American greatness. And the heavy govt. influence in response to the threat of communism. It's less anti American than it is showing the (exaggerated) dangers of Cold War era America. I don't have a tumblr. What's it say?

  15. So, I took a nap, had some pizza and I'm good. Sorry about that. Anywho, @Collins to your PM I'll shoot you a starter post sometime soon, and on the subject of the Kylo vs Ray fight, after watching it again, it still bugs me at how much they forced her to be the new chosen one, but then Anakin came out of nowhere too. Hell, the force even birthed him Baby Jesus style, so with that in mind I suppose I can let it slide, Star Wars was never all that subtle. Though even Anakin lost his first duel. Badly. But again, Dooku wasn't at all injured, and Kylo Ren was basically running hot on a five kill streak with low health and no Mercy in sight, facing a newbie with Gengi. He was gonna lose.

Not to mention him hitting the wound is him trying to draw on the dark side. We know he struggled with his light or dark associations. He could have very well not been able to call on the dark side. I would say his losing and him not being able to grab the lightsaber is a strong indication he couldn't draw on the dark side because he was still conflicted following murdering his father. Also, we don't know what murdering the Jedi acolytes entailed. They could've been little more than toddlers. Younglings. And we don't know how trained they were. And he had help. And we don't know how good a teacher Luke is. Could be a shit one, since Kylo still needs training. The assumption you're making is that he had the level of training he should've had, when I think the indication is he doesn't have that level of training. At least, not with a lightsaber, since he wields it like a cudgel more than a sword. He clearly has strong Force powers but those were out of wack after killing Han.

I've got a former sheriff and ranger who's lost everything and has severe survivor's guilt. He's part of an exploratory expedition from Texas. That expedition includes a brilliant young scientist, a righteous doctor, a charismatic singing old mercenary, a sneaky and sarcastic explosive expert, a famed explorer and unarmed fighter, plus a drug addicted guide, an arrogant sniper, a greedy merc, chain smoking ex soldier, and the two leaders, a cruel former tribesman, and a one-eyed stubborn-like-a-mule merc who leads the thing. Plus their eyebot, Ojo (Spanish for eye) and brahmhorn, Pancho and Lefty. Two names for two heads. And then my other character is a Brotherhood Paladin Lord who is commanding the Brotherhood forces arriving in Wellstone to root out the rebels. He's the child of an inquisitor mother and scribe father, so is both ruthless and smart. He reveres Barnaky and believe in the idea of technology bettering human life. Real human life, of course. Finally, though she is like most of my caravan group characters and won't be a pov character, I have a wealthy hotel and cabaret owner who secretly support the rebels. I'm confused. What do you mean "make his score a main character or plot device?"

I even called her Anorexia when her name was Almalexia, and she sure didn't let me forget that lol. Then we found out we had a love of Boethia and Almalexia in common, and made a truce from there. Now she's confused because I'm a stormcloak supporter, and thinks I'm "not so bad" lol. It's cute. I love confusing people.

Rofl when someone accuses you of being a white supremacist gets caught making generalizations because you’re a fan of a fictional faction, and are completely and utterly wrong in the assumption Wish I could be there when people find out I’m a biracial african american who supports the stormcloaks. “Does not compute, error, error.” Yes, I am shamelessly petty. It really highlighted something that's bugged me about veterans, and someone (can't remember who) laid out pretty well. We know how to send soldiers to war, but we don't know how to bring them back. Which has been a problem long before we really recognized it as such. The fact this story is about an individual makes it more intimate and the plight more empathetic. Not that you'd expect it needed that. But as you said, the prosecution clearly had no mercy with regards to veterans with PTSD. Comparing it to some other social anxiety was mind boggling. But I think the part that shocked me most was how cynical and wary of everything he became by his time in combat, which the journals showed. Just a slow, slogging progression of sadness and despair that continued long after he left the war. I was touching to see his family and girlfriend accept him throughout the ordeal and his life. But you can see how someone without his support structure might get into a destructive spiral. It goes back to not knowing how to bring soldiers back, especially those really effected by war. Lets hope things change. We either have to stop sending soldiers to war or learn how to take care of them. I had a former Marine uncle, didn't see much combat at all, mostly repaired C-130s, who died because the VA hospital he went to didn't detect the heart problems that were causing his chest pains, which ultimately killed him in his 30's. Our support system for vets is sorely lacking and needs to be fixed. I hope that, like the District Attorney did towards the end, people can recognize the problems and get these vets help instead of punishing them.

  33. Rofl true, all my tests say I'm the exact opposite of ambitious, and I only put on an appearance of being bad, lol. Temptation of power isn't always a bad thing if there's not much ambition to go with it. I'm sure most jedi wish to be more powerful, doesn't mean they fall to the dark side.

And to jump in because what's a fair fight? Lol, Fallout is anti humanity if anything, or more accurately it simply highlights how far our flaws can take this world. Think liberals and what their propaganda would look like if they wanted to show Christians just how powerful man really is and the effect we can have on this world if left unchecked. That'd be fallout. Expansionism, Manifest Destiny, fear, survival at all costs, science unbound with no care for responsible advancement. This is hardly an american thing, and the game even said as much in the lore if you're paying attention. It simply is told from the perspective of post apocalyptic america. Smaller countries like Poland and such might not be able to relate as well, but Russians and Chinese certainly can, in at least some of these. And they, along with smaller countries likely have been raised to fear America and other superpowers specifically for these reasons, enough for them to get it.

That's what my friend in the vid said at first too until he found some he was good at Just gotta figure out where you fit in the mix. I can't shoot the wide side of a barn as any of the offense guys, so Genji is who I play from there, I play junkrat when we need defense characters on certain maps or when Reinhardt isn't working out since that's my go to heavy guy, no aiming required lol, or Hanzo who for whatever reason I can actually kill people with even though he uses a ******* bow lol, and healers, I find Mercy and the silly music playing black dude (ugh why is that our hero, ******* christ) to be the most useful to the team. And I gotta say now that I'm more versed in the game and the lore, I definitely see why Tumblr wet themselves over this game. Seriously, a movement for free love and harmony between machines and humans? Wtf, lol, I laughed pretty hard when Widow Maker shot that dude and the white chick with the robo boyfriend's reaction was priceless.

There are two things about Rey beating Kylo that I didn't see anyone mention, but imo play as big a part as the force. One, she had much more training with a weapon than Luke when we see her get into her light saber fight. We know she's skilled with her bow staff, and though that's not the same as a light saber, it gives her some background that Luke didn't have. And, Kylo was seriously injured. Chewbaca's bowcaster was powerful enough to knock out two storm troopers at the same time at Maz's castle. Yet Kylo, because of his own power with the force, was able to not die when being hit directly with it. But that would've seriously hampered his abilities during the fight. Finn also landed a couple blows before Rey force grabbed the light saber. By that time I imagine Kylo was having trouble calling on the force, given the pain. That, coupled with Rey clearly being special, meant she could grab the saber when he couldn't. As for the mind probing, I imagine reaching into someone's mind like that is intimate in a way that allows it to be reversed if you aren't careful. It reminds me of Harry Potter how he and Voldemort are connected and they can both see what the other sees at times, but doing so allows the other access to their minds. It's useful but can be dangerous. I wont defend Rey's piloting skills because those seemingly came from nowhere. But I buy the mechanic and fighting skills, though her blaster accuracy was unbelievable as Doc said. One thing I think needs mentioning is the fact Anakin was conceived by the force itself. If that can happen, I see no reason why Rey couldn't access the force much more quickly than anyone else we've seen. It can do some strange things, after all.

Went and watched Rogue One today. I have to say, even going in expecting it to be good, I was still blown away by how much I enjoyed it and how great it was. Probably my third favorite Star Wars movies, after Empire Strikes back and the originals Star Wars. Not only was it a good Star Wars movie, but it was also a good war movie. Interesting new characters, great fight scenes, and the stakes felt high. Even knowing how it ends didn't take away from it.
