Hi everyone. I'm replaying Skyrim again and this time I thought it would be a fun ego-boost to wander around the map and just see how many guys I could find who were interested in marriage. Well, then I finally went to the Temple and had a wedding with the last one (my housecarl) and although the ceremony went fine, right afterwards, the only dialog he had was the "thane" stuff, no marriage dialog at all. I tried going back to an earlier save and then going through the ceremony with another guy just to see what would happen, and the same thing happened again. So, I'm wondering if my flirting around and having a bunch of different guys ask me to marry them and then my agreeing, might've messed up the quest? Or....another idea I'm pondering is that I tend to use the console ALOT.....I love to just click enemies and type in "kill" for the fun of it, but I noticed tonight that some of my clothing is messed up, like instead of a dress being green and white for example, it's a boxy-looking, light purple color instead. I think my console-playing has messed some things up in my game and I'm curious if my marriage quest could be part of that? One final thing that I wanted to toss in so you iknow all of the stuff I've actually done before finding this error----I had found a mod that allowed you to marry as many people as you wanted, and installed it. Well, for some reason I couldn't get it to work so I uninstalled it, including the meshes, textures and scripts that I could find that were related to that mod. But now I wonder if part of that mod is lurking on my PC causing problems despite my attempt to delete everything.
WHEW! Okay, I know, way too much information (lol) but I thought I'd get that all out before asking for help to save all of us some time. If anyone knows what could be causing my error I would SO love your help. And if you think that one of the things that I did might've caused it and you know how I might be able to fix it, I'd be eternally grateful. (Mostly because one of the girls over on Skyrim Nexus made a great housecarl mod and the guy she put in Honeyside is just delish!)
Thanks so much everyone,
Tracy
