  1. Hey, i just got a new gaming laptop, and i'm running on high end settings. I had trouble transferring mods, and i ended up deleting/replacing a lot of the for stability, but i feel like i'm only halfway there; i get a lot of crashes when i'm changing cells, especially trying to enter/exit an interior added by a mod. Active Mod Files: I have done a ridiculous amount of sorting tes4 cleaning, and console commands. When i know a crash will occur when entering/exiting a cell, i use PCB console command, but it only works about 50% of the time, which is about how much it tends to work anyway. The only time i have reproduced this crash in a vanilla area was in the Cheydinhal mages guild; i crashed exiting the well, and when i was coming back up from the basement with Falcar's soul gems (was doing MG quest.) Is there a problem with windows 8 and oblivion? Do i need to tweak ini settings better? I can think of lots of possibilities for why this is happening, but can't narrow it down to get a solution.

Alright, i'm making a small magic mod for personal use, and so far, i have a summonable set of armor and weapon for the pc when he/she reaches level 2, permenant bound until sword is unequipped (not sheathed). What i would like to do next is a little beyond my capability at the moment. I want to make a summonable dagger that gives you a spell that leaves a marker you can teleport too, . Furthermore, when the dagger is uneqquiped (not sheathed, removed from player, only shown in inventory) you lose the dagger and the teleport spell, but not the summon spell. Can anyone give me a few pointers or a good link? If you want in on the mod (not that you couldn't make it yourself if you intend to help), i can upload the esp, but i use a few models/textures that aren't my own, so i couldn't include them.
  3. @Khettienna Thx so much for the tips on that, i'd used boss rule manager, but never exactly in that manner. I can integrate the mergeable mods sorted this way into the patch right? Of course it does, I just finished, although the Morroblvion section could use some more work. Thank you very much. @The rest of the community and others that helped me: Thx so much for helping me narrow down the possible problems, my game is quickly getting much more stable and my load order much neater and concise New Load Order: Okay, it looks like there was a wacky mod or something in the group I had after my bashed patch. When i try to merge, i get this error from Wrye: I think the ending part is the most important of course, i think the first couple dozen lines are a relic from debugging/testing CBash, they always appear. I'm not sure though. Can anyone help me interpret this? FINAL EDIT: Okay, the wonky mod was Morroblivion - Lost Magic OBME. Left it out of the Bashed Patch Merge, and it all went smoothly.   4. New load order, boss doesn't identify the last few (some are mine, a couple are morroblivion things, other armor/house/one location mod.) Any tips on merging some of those succesfully? Bash marks mergeable mods, but if boss doesn't identify, i'm a little lost as to how to merge Don't know if this will solve the issue or not. Note, i also decided to test the newer open beta/ 3.1 Version of SL that i wasn't using before. Active Mod Files:
  5. I use wrye bash to make sure A-Bomb never gets very high. So far, went back in and resorted + Tes4edit cleaned many mods. Will see if this solves anything.

My Bashed patch is in the awkward place its in because some of the mods don't properly take effect, even after boss sorting, if they are included in the bashed patch, so my workaround was to make sure that it overwrote whatever was going on in the bashed patch. Looking at it now, i see what you mean though, i could probably use some resorting. I already use Wisdom Earle's, this appears to be something that it can't help. Is there any chance that the secure streamsave option i'm using is causing something to go bad? Has a new version of Streamline come out recently? If i recall, i'm using 3.1 I've already started a new character, am several hours in, and experiencing this issue again. I still can't put my finger on what has gone wrong. I'd really like recommendations on what mods are unnecessary, i'm gonna trim down and resort to see what might help. EDIT: ok, i feel stupid, checked SL on the nexus, work stopped on it in 09. Was the open beta 4 version of SL known to be unstable or anything? I feel like i read somewhere that someone said it got kinda messy after a certain period of time. Tbh, i feel like it was the savior of my fps, but if it causes the loadgame crashes, i'll use an earlier version.
  7. Alright a couple of quick edits. I tried the ini file trick, and i'm afraid it didn't do it for me. Also, it will let me start new characters, but thats the last thing i want to do. I think it may be some sort of referenced item or scipt that Oblivion suddednly decided not to like.
  8. Warning, there are a lot of mods here. They do work together the way I want them too, but i know there are things that are probably messy or downright incorrect. Like i said though, the load order worked fine. I played with all these mods in this order for several days before it decided to crash.

Without adding any mods, making any changes to my computer, changing my load order, or anything, i suddenly crash in a cell, and then can't load any of my saves, all of which were in other cells. It gets to the loading screen when i tell it to load, and then it quits. Does anyone have experience with this issue? I just got through the main questline with my character, and i'd rather quit playing altogether than start another character. I've had to start over several times, but the previous times were because of mod issues, and now i'm so sick of it that if i can't find a solution, i'll just quit playing.
  10. For anyone that does the same thing i did, turn on (value is 1/true) Bdoimagespaceeffects, if your problem sounds like this.
  11. So, i'd really like to resolve an issue i've had for awhile. I used the mod that changed the color of the construction set water, but now it has changed the color of every liquid type in my game. I've tried water and lava replacement textures and mods, all to no effect. My liquids all have the same basic texture used when the water shader is off, just a blue color rather than a pink one. I've checked my ini to make sure everything checks out, and i've done everything i can think of beyond an oblivion re-install. Anyone got any other good options?

    Umm, i'm having a problem with this mod. How is it that Arren can hate me upon meeting me? Is it that i'm a vampire? I have no infamy, and a little fame, i have not drank/stolen from him. I met him two minutes ago. Why does he hate me? Otherwise, on another playthrough, i saw that Arren was a powerful and valuable ally. He's just chronically grumpy!
