  1. Version 1.0.0

    65 downloads

Adds mares and foals to farms and a few remote areas of Skyrim Credits Textures by Alien Slof You may not upload this to the Nexus.
  2. Version 1.0.0

    149 downloads

Featuring asymmetrical and symmetrical textures by Slof Adds six new stables to Skyrim Each stable has at least 5 different horses to choose from Horses are 1.5x faster than vanilla and marked essential. They also run from danger not towards it. Most predators will ignore them. (I know the last is not realistic, but I like a peaceful ride. ) Cleaned with XEdit, meshes optimized with SE Nif opt Load order: -- Load this after all horse related mods. If you have Honeystrand Meadery -- Load that after this mod. Details Adds new stables to Skyrim – Falkreath opposite the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary, outer Rorikstead (just down the road from Rorikstead going towards Whiterun), outer Dragon Bridge (down the road from Dragon Bridge towards Whiterun), Shor’s Stone, Kynesgrove, Markarth (up the hill from the farm fast travel marker is enabled from the start), Ivarstead (on the way to Riften near Imperial Camp) This is fully compatible with More Stables, Lesser Hold Stables and Convenient Horses. Not compatible with Immersive Horses, needs a patch for that, something I don’t have the time to make. If someone wants to make a patch, feel free. Just let me know so I can link it here. No uploads to other sites without express permission. You may not upload this mod to the Nexus so please don’t bother to ask. There is an xbox version on Bethesda.net, and the Oldrim or Classic Skyrim version on Steam. Credits: Thanks to all the wonderful modders who provide resources and tutorials Slof for the beautiful new horse textures (Slofslair) Rebel O'conner for remapping the vanilla mesh Hanaisse (Tes Alliance) for the 'Creating Armor in Skyrim' tutorial and Roadsigns. 3. Does anyone know how to make a horse un-rideable? I've googled and looked in the CK at the cart horses, but I don't see a way to do it. I tried removing the saddle bone, but I'm still able to mount the horse. My character hangs in mid-air while the horse runs around in circles. Thanks for any help.
  4. My personal favorite large quest mod is Falskaar. I run it like DLC. It's very stable and pretty much bug free. There's also Helgen Reborn, stable, good story, and of course Arthmoor's The Cutting Room Floor which adds back content Bethesda cut. If you haven't joined the Companions yet, there's Enhanced Skyrim Factions the Companions Guild which adds a lot to the Companions questline.
  5. Version 1.2

6 lightbreed horse models (3 mares and 3 stallions) and 4 Gypsy Vanner types (with and without Alpha on feathering mare and stallion models) All models use vanilla textures For better screenshots of the models using Slof's Textures, please see here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38412/? The texture paths on the nifs are the same as vanilla. IE. arabmare.nif is textures/actors/horse/horse01.dds, saddlelight.nif is textures/actors/horse/saddle.dds, etc. The meshes are remakes of the vanilla Bethesda horse. Use it as you wish; just give me credit. The textures aren't very good. Feel free to modify them as you need. The saddles are re-sized to fit the horses. The arab saddles only fit the arab type models. Shadowmere's eyes are mapped different from the vanilla horse. (Uses the darker eye seen on the texture files.) I've only added the glowing eyes to him/her. If you want to add the other controllers too, feel free to do so. Stallion parts are mapped to the upper left corner similar to Slof's textures.
  6. I use paint.net for dds files as I can never get the gimp dds plugin to work right. It either won't open files, or it adds odd colors, noise...something to them. Paint.net is free and can be found here: http://www.getpaint.net/ I save the dds files as .png in Paint.net, load them in gimp, do my editing and export from gimp as a .png. Load up the edited .png in Paint.net and save as a dds file.
  7. Thank you! I really appreciate the link and quick reply. Looks like a very detailed tutorial which is exactly what I need.
  8. Is it possible to create a horse merchant that can sell more than one horse at a time? For instance, you could choose from one of five horses.
  9. Version 1.0

    104 downloads

Adds 5 new light breed horses to the Loreius Farm. The horse is a re-sculpture of the vanilla horse mesh and uses a modified saddle and skeleton.nif file. The horses are marked essential and are as fast as the regular horse. Use Swift Steeds move it for faster horse. (1.5x the speed of vanilla) Requirements: Skyrim 1.9.29.0.8 or higher Versions Swift Steeds.esp uses 2048 textures Swift Steeds lo res.esp uses 1024 textures Use one -- the two are not compatible Manual installation 1) Extract the contents of the ZIP folder into your Data folder. 2) Make sure the Swift Steeds.esp is checked in the Launcher. Un-installation 1) Delete the files/folders associated with the mod (Swift Steeds.esp in your data folder and the Swift Steeds folders found under meshes and textures in your Skyrim folder. (Default is path C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data) 2) Make sure Swift Steeds.esp is unchecked in the Launcher. Conflicts Not compatible with any horse armors. Known Issues Riding can look odd when viewed from the side. The skeleton doesn't fit the mesh as well as it could, so I'm hoping moving the bones will help. But until a new nifscript is released for Blender, there's no way to do this. (That I know of anyway.) I've also had issues with the horses dying even though they're marked essential if the esp is placed before Convenient Horses and Convenient horse herding. Just make sure it loads after those two mods or similar mods if you don't want them to die. Permissions All texture and mesh files are modder's resource. You don't need my permission to use them, just credit me for my work. Please do not upload the esp file to other sites. Credits Thanks to Bethesda for creating Skyrim and the Creation Kit. Thanks to InsanitySorrow for the ReadMe Generator the ReadMe is based on. Thanks to the Blender, Paint.net, Nifscope and GIMP developers for providing free software. Thanks to Hanaisse (Tes Alliance) for the 'Creating Armor in Skyrim' tutorial. In loving memory of my horse Flicka.
