  1. These are lovely.
  2. Indeed. Same VA so I think that accounts for the mistake, but Rikke was not at Helgen. I'm reluctant to get into this debate over here, but no, that calculation is faulty. What's left of the empire at greater strength couldn't defeat the Dominion before, so what makes you think they will the 2nd time around? Rather, the empire won the military campaign and lost the political campaign, which I think highlights the fact that they no longer have their mythic grounding. This is TES after all, so geopolitical (nirnpolitical?) factors are less important than mythic ones. There are no dragonfires, the Alessian pact is over, and it shows. Now I think the locus of anti-Thalmor resistance is in the individual provinces who are resisting the Thalmor, in the "make way" of the redguard, the Nords' pride in their role as always returning Skyrim to their control, and potentially also in the survivor spirit of the Redoran, as well as the fact that the Thalmor themselves are usurpers and perverters of the Altmer way and will probably collapse from within as well as without. I do think it likely that there will be a Dominion even after the Thalmor are booted out (by the Psijic if by no one else), and that the empire is on its way out no matter what the outcome of an individual playthrough in TESV. And, I welcome that change. Another Cyrodiilic empire reboot is the dullest outcome I can imagine.
  3. Thanks, I've been looking forward to this but hadn't realized it was out yet.
  4. That's how I feel about it. I was playing Bioshock Infinite lately and kept getting these annoying notifications about cards. Now I look at games advertising them and cringe. Wish there was a way to opt out or disable them.
  5. The Ranger armor that Boone has on, and I did use a mod to get Veronica's hood for my PC as well. She's wearing one of the wastelander outfits up above and then Joshua Graham's outfit from Honest Hearts.
  6. Hello all. I love FNV. My quintessential Courier is Rue. She's a Great Khan castout, a melee fighter, though raised by a grandmother who had been a tribal so she learned the native plants and cooking. Having then been with the Khans, she applied this to drug cooking as well. She got too close to some of the raider customers and started dealing on the side off the books, for which she was cast out and had to make her own way. She was going to go Yes Man, but Lonesome Road gave her a view of her own fallibility and she made the deal with House. She'll end up settling in Westside and trying to build up humanitarian works alongside House's industrial-military development. She ran with Boone- an unlikely friendship given their backgrounds, but they united around hatred of Caesar.
  7. How does it retcon et'ada and aedra? Not following. The idea of subgradience and of worship actually changing deities, rather than all of them just being illusions about the same thing, is in multiple game texts. Apart from that I am not very fond of the idea that because something is not explained in detail that it isn't there. That begs a lot of forest and trees problems. And we'll of course never get an entire picture from in-world sources, because they're each limited to their own perspective.
  8. I think you aren't far wrong, except if anyone is trying to break free it is the Auriel aspect of Aka. Also none of the gods are good or evil as far as I'm concerned, I find the terms problematic for Elder Scrolls- which to me is one of its attractive aspects. As it happens, we may have helped Auriel in his quest by uncovering his shrines and ridding his avatar of a troublesome rival, and by undermining Alduin both in the main game and by giving over some of his (the All-Maker's) power to Hermaeus Mora in Dragonborn. Knowledge is power, after all.
  9. Stormcloak I'm a Nord fan and never cared for the empire, so it was a no brainer to me. I am glad that they made the setup suitably "grey" and complex- if not the actual quest line.
