For a second I thought this was lost to time. Nice.
  1. I was wondering why i never found before the ayleid coin as a resource... Google trolled me :/ Thanks for these free resources.
  2. Actually, i'm still going to start the mesh. But i'm getting reference material to begin with, of course. I'm planning on using the Orcish bow design to help me start, mostly because it is the most assimetric bow i can remember right now, and the bow i'm trying to do is just as assimetric. I started by thinking "well, i need something to import to blender, for visual reference" and went to export the bow mesh as .obj format. Headaches started right there. Basically, i wasn't aware i can't export a rigged/skinned mesh to obj format. Mostly because i already did some body/armor exports months ago and used obj a lot for it. I know the bow is different, tho - they do not have _0 and _1 meshes [would be so much easier if they did] and some rare ocasions even have the animation embed in the nif file. So, right now i'm at a loss here. This is my first time trying to skin/weigh paint something, anywhere. I'm just more used to blender, even tho i know that 3dsMAX is infinitely more compatible. Since things can be complicated, i'm willing on doing the mesh first on blender, exporting it in obj format, and rigging it in 3dsMAX if need be to a safer and less painful experience. I'd just like to be directed to a good rigging tutorial for bows. [Armor, clothing, bodies are something else, i'll get to them eventually. I'm concerned with the bow right now] Thanks in advance for any helping hand anyone is willing to extend. edit: I just noticed i was looking at a modded amber bow, not the original! I got it, the original, the orcish skyrim bow, and the wooden skyrim bow, all of them for reference. Bows in skyrim are longer compared to the ones in oblivion. At least, visually. This doesn't change anything, i'm using them all for visual reference and still plan to make a non-symetrical bow, unique, not a remake of the old mod [since i have no idea who did it] and neither of the original bow [which seems like it's made of ebony instead of amber >_<]
  3. Yes, i know this is my first time posting here. Sorry, i wasn't expecting to post anything anytime soon, but this is seriously bugging me to no end. I want two things, Silver weapons doing substantial damage to undead, and silver arrows. There are a few mods around that do the second... er... just two that i could find, but both come with their own little issues. So, off we go to try and make something that works. So, what do i know about making this? I wouldn't say anything, but i do know very little about the whole perk-effect-calculations. I can edit things in the ck, but i haven't fiddlet with it enough to know every nook and cranny it has - I bet no one ever will... On top of all that, i know squat about scripting, as i'm mostly an artist. With that said, none of that kept me from checking said mods to try and figure out how exactly they have their enchantments running - i also checked auriel's bow and its enchanted arrows, only to find out how complex the artifact is. The arrows either had an explosion attached to them, which made them lose part of their arrow behavior, or a perk, or even just a keyword. So, i need to attach A [not "the", "a"] silver enchantment to an arrow and still make it work like an arrow [as in, it flies in an arc and gets stuck on things when you miss your target, letting you catch the ones you can still find on the floor] and make a new enchantment that will give substantial damage to undead both at lower and at higher levels. In this case, i guess a multiplier and a direct damage/ignore armor effect is called for. Can anyone give me any hints of how to do any of that? I guess the best way to do it is with keywords for the arrows. I still have no idea how to start the script/new damage calculation for silver, tho. edit: The reason why i want to try to do that is that when i tried using these modded silver arrows [and a modded silver dagger] against ghosts alongside weapons with the same damage value, i barely saw any difference [spawned subjugated ghosts while in the testing hall] as in, while the silver weapons DID do extra damage, it felt like it wasn't that much of a difference at level 1. And if it wasn't that much at this early level, then it wouldn't be much either later in the game. Did i choose the wrong enemies by any means?
