Have you thought of an external storage device? I have lots of old stuff on thumb drives and a ton on an external ssd with 1TB I bought for cheap.

Yes you can have other versions of Blender installed. To avoid confusion I suggest you create seperate reciever folders in your destination of choice , clearly labeled like .. Blender 2.49 , or Blender 2.8 .. etc. then during download , direct it to down load to that folder.

You will need an earlier version of Blender to support NIF files and DDS for texturing for export. If you can search this site and find Vince`s Blender to Oblivion tutorials , it`s the best place to start. On Nexus you may be able to find Mr. Sika`s tuta ... also very good. Edit: I found Blender to Oblivion part 1 >> I hope the link works. Part 2 is in there too .

Ok...new PC is up with win10 and mostly configured. I installed Oblivion but there is no mesh folder in my Ob/Data directory...??? Any idea why?? I started a new game and all looked good through thec intro. When I hit the jail, I quicksved out hoping that would generate what was missing in my data folder... no soap..

Yaaayy ... picked up my new rig today. Builder tested with Overwatch slammed to ultra ... She is jealous. This thing is really fast. I`m going to have some questions to post in my win10 thread, but the basics are in.

Ok... update. After some setbacks we`re dinally back on track. Hoping for delivery in a few days. Ended up having to go with a full tower case due to conflicts.

Holiday today but parts should arrive tomorrow. I have no doubt I`ll like it ... I`ll let ya know.

I just got back from the spec meeting with the builder where we hammered out all the details. Thanks folks... Many good points here. I could install win7 , of course , but I think ... at this point.. it would be wise to go ahead and update. It also sounds like Pro will give me more options. I`ll bring this up at the spec meeting with the builder.
