Robin of Locksley, yes yes my name is Robin.... Started up playing Oblivion again after letting it lye for a while, it always crashed or became unplayable after lv 20+ before. But now it seems like I can play out the game as intended.
I'll probably eventually get involved in sound editing since I am a musician and that is something I can do. Becoming proficient with the C.S. making nice little cell's with stuff to help other teams out.
I have a few ideas for mod's that I might eventually come around doing; if any seems worthwhile you are welcome to do them yourselves.
1. Overhaul the repair system. Can't repair 100% in the field. Can always repair magical stuff. Low skill lowers the durability of the stuff you repair. Need a forge close to repair 100%. And some more stuff related.
2. Editing Oblivion voices to make new sentences. Cut and paste basically, with some EQ and sound manipulation. E.g. at the end of a statement the voice often dips. Doing this and making a mod that will add ALLOT of new rumors you can listen too. There is so much people can talk about really.
3. Overhaul the main quest. I wont even describe it since this is more of a wish than something I am likely to do.
4. Overhaul the Nighteye. Learning HLSL and make less overpowering nighteye. First one normal nighteye for when you cast the spell - slightly fuzzy and light outlines on objects, very dark. Potion: More green and reddish base and very dark. Vampire: Like a heat haze, better but still dark. Kahjit: very good nighteye but still best with slight background light. And so on - and a script that keep track of what you are doing when getting the nighteye effect.
Basically I think that nighteye should need some light to work. Even the darkest and fuzziest one I've found is still to bright and easy to see. It should be like you almost want to use a torch to see rather than the nighteye - mainly because the effect will bring a very fuzzy grainy picture that wont let you see that clearly.
Those are the basic mods I have had tumbling around in my head. The night eye is something I really would like to do but learning to program shaders (and I can't program anything really) does not seem like a fun way to spend my spare time. Well maybe I'll get there.
Cheers!
