  1. Hmmm, I think I'll have to take a look at that lesson. lol
  2. YAY! I'm learning!! I didn't think the script would be that simple. My view of scripting and coding is that if it's something I want to do it must inherently be too complicated for me to understand lol. Could you enlighten me a little about parent objects and stuff. I've seen it talked about but I don't really understand what it means.
  3. Ok, I did a little research on the enable and disable commands. So, picking apart the script. Storing the current game time in the variable and then checking to see if it is less than 5 or greater than 20. Now, my first question would be what do 5 and 20 convert to in time? Is it going on a 24 hour clock? Now, as for the next part of the script I'm going out on a limb here but I'm going to assume I would put in the light source ref and then .disable? Then I'm going to also assume that to turn the lights back on you simply reverse the process? Am I on the right track or just making an idiot out of myself? lol
  4. Hey, Just to preface this, this script will be for Fallout 3 not oblivion. I'm looking to make lights that dim at night and then go back to normal in the morning. I don't want to be given a script that does it, I want to discover it on my own but, as the only experience I have so far is completing the second scripting lesson here I don't know where to begin. I know I'm going to have to reference the lights but I don't know how and I also don't know all the commands I would need. So, can someone point me in the right direction to get me started? Or, is this a script that is out of my expertise right now and I should try something else? Thanks guys!
  5. Awesome! Hard or not I will get there, little by little. The way I see it is, even though my goals are lofty, I can use it as a learning experience. We have learned much about making the actual building in the GECK and then as we go on everything I need to do I will just consider a lesson in modding.
  6. Congrats on your shiney bright new award!

  7. I'm not looking for someone to do anything for me. Wouldn't be my mod then. All I'm looking for is someone that knows how to do these things to give me advice and such. And, are you saying that spoken dialog isn't possible to do? Cause that would like completely crush my hopes and dreams. I absolutely hate text dialog, it takes me completely out of the story and kills immersion.
  8. Thank you guys for being so helpful! Me and my brother are in the process of making a mod for Fallout 3 that is probably a bit lofty considering our experience, so any help I get I'm very grateful for! Another question I had was, I know there is a way to make Fallout 3 NPCs actually speak rather then just having text subtitles. And I also know there is a guide for this, but my problem is I'm not very book smart, I need an actual person to say "No, you have to do it THIS way!" So is there anyone here that is experienced in doing that sort of thing?
  9. Sweet! Do the classes for TES scripting cost anything? And will someone that has NO programing experience be completely and utterly lost?
  10. Hey all, I heard about this forum over at Fallout3nexus. I was told you have modding classes, but I see that it's mainly for ES, which makes sense considering it is TESalliance lol. I was just hoping you might know of somewhere that offers Fallout 3 modding classes, especially scripting. Thanks!
