  1. So I am race modding away and *Waits for everyone to faint in shock* Even managing to add scripts as per Expired's tutorial. But here is my first problem;- - I can create the race and make it playable, I can give them new eyes and make them playable. But I want this race to have fangs. I can create the relevant headparts. I even know where I should drag them in the CK. But I cannot get rid of the original female mouth thing. Can anyone give me a tip as to how this can be done, so my gal can have cute fangs instead of ordinary teeth? I'd like to see if this can be done because for reasons that are about to become apparent, I may have to be remaking the plugin mentioned in the second problem below. The second problem is really bizarre. I am working on this mod with a colleague. I made the plugin and Wrye Bash says it is clean, my colleague then made new eyes and teeth meshes, added the new eyes and teeth and sent it back to me. And it is fine for ME, I can select different eyes, including the custom ones, change eyebrows, the lot. The morph race is Redguard, armor race default race, as per Expired's tutorial. But my colleague says he cannot change eyes or eyebrows with the same plugin. I have Dawnguard, he does not, but I was careful not to make DG a master of my plugin and did not make it dependant on any other cosmetic mods. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here and why it works fine for me and not him? The obvious thing to me is that he might be on a different game version to me, but... Help much appreciated!
  2. Urgh. Clueless noob strikes again. Well, I have managed to actually create a race mod with some new custom races. My girls are playable and looking good. But there are a few things I obviously am not getting. I have set up some new custom hairs within my esp and made them for AllRacesMinusBeast. But they are not appearing on my custom races. Also, how do I add additional headparts such as eyebrows?
  3. I'll load the CK and try that. The mod also alters some clothes, what about those records?
  4. Hello TESAlliance people - I know there's a lot of knowledgeable people on here and you were able to really help me last time I asked a stupid noob question, and you were all really nice too! Generally, I managed fine with the Oblivion CS and even the GECK for FO3 and New Vegas to some extent. But I have been unable to find a tutorial anywhere that explains quite what I want to know, a lot of them assume more knowledge of the CK than I have. How this was all sparked off was by the fact that I decided to change my female body mod. I had been using the beautiful e55 which I beta tested, but the support in terms of clothing was not there. One of the great things about Skyrim is that you can have different bodies for races if you like, I have some custom races that use UNP but I decided to settle on the Lady Body by the Russian modder KrisTi for my vanilla race replacer. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15416 This mod has an .esp because the female body meshes are called "Ladybody_0.nif" etc. It's good in a way because it means that if you were to want to change back to your previous mesh, you would only have to overwrite the textures and also the clothing replacers. However, let's say that the English .esp is somewhat "lost in translation". And it does not work unless it is at the very bottom of the load order - I've tried. The most fundamental issue this caused was that all vanilla races were missing their text data and the race name, which showed up in game as "Lookup failed!" This issue I managed to solve by using Maborishi Daikon's marvellous little Skyrim string localizer utility to embed the Skyrim English strings into the plugin. Emilie is now proud to be a Breton again, Inari a Dunmer and Aredhel a Bosmer. However, I still have some not game breaking, but thoroughly annoying issues. All the road signs and all the inn and shop signs are still in Russian, Cyrillic script. As I see it I have some alternatives;- 1) Find out how to make the signs in English again - but I cannot work out how to do this in the CK. Can anyone advise me, or link me another tool that will translate everything fully? 2) Somehow remove everything except the body edits from the esp (advised to me by a modder who does not mod Skyrim and doesn't know the CK) - so again, I would need a walkthrough 3) Make a totally fresh plugin from the Skyrim.esm that will be in English and makes the same edits to the female body as the ones that the original plugin does. Unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me work out how you assign meshes and textures in the CK - another walkthrough needed. I haven't been able to find tutorials anywhere that can tell me what to do, starting from the very beginning. Like, right after you have loaded the plugin in the CK. Sorry for the wall of text, but I know that the really knowledgeable folks hang out on here, so I am appealing to you!
  5. I know this sounds silly, but I have never, ever taken pictures in the CK before. How do I do this in order to post my proof and get the credits? I use Fraps for in game screens.
  6. Hey I reckon I am going to be very brave and do DarkRiders tutorial too. I am having problems with races and presets too. In the preview window the body does not show up on a duplicated race where it does on the race that it has been duped from. I also made what I thought was a preset, it appeared to save and I had it in the right place, but it refused to appear in game. I hope with another squint at the wiki and maybe with some info from CK gurus on here, I will get to the bottom of it!
  7. Sorry for double post but I have another item for relocating. The Stones Of Barenziah, one of them is in the DB Sanctuary.
  8. I especially like this, my girls do not do ugly dogbreathed werewolf. Ever. And yes please to relocating Word Walls.
  9. Good friends, I am so happy that I am not the only one that hates being railroaded! I have a thread over at Nexus about it because I am so hacked off about the things that you folks have brought up! All power to you modders once that CK is out!
  10. Just another tip, it is also possible to move your Steam installation from C:\ProgramFilesX86, which is what I did, I put mine in C\Games\Steam\. Avoids UAC silliness. Check out this article;- Moving a Steam installation and games
  11. As soon as I heard the issues that PS3 users were having with 1.2 patch, I offlined Steam and have not had it online since. I updated both 4gb memory loader and SKSE to latest. When launching from the 4gb loader I do get an SKSE pop up saying "Please update Skyrim to the latest version" which I ignore, and the game still launches anyway.
  12. I'll hang fire until then, DR. I don't have young babies, I have geriatric ones, and so I know about getting tied up by them!
  13. Pleased to say I have it working now. Gave load order another beating with BOSS, then reordered the mods that BOSS always puts in the wrong place (you would think that it would know Bashed Patch and Deadly Reflex need to be last by now). And my PC, Steffan and the good brothers were plodding along the roads nicely until we ran into some bandits and I got a quest update Moral of the story is save at every corner I guess!
  14. OK, I got the quest to start but, then Steffan did the exact same thing as he did in this user's screenshot. (Except I didn't have the magic effect) Naturally, I use BOSS and Wrye Bash. HOWEVER, for some time I have been using the MQS Complete mod, where you sneak into the cellars of the Tiber Septim and activate a crystal, that enables you to bypass the Main Quest and yet still get the Imperial Dragon Armor. I must therefore conclude that this mod MQS Done Conflicts with RTS. I suspect that if I try with a brand new character who has not activated the crystal and complete the Main Quest in the normal way, the result should be different.
  15. Hey there, I know this seems like a really silly question but how does the quest trigger? I have a character who has completed the Oblivion main quest and no one has approached her yet.
  16. I have just downloaded this at Nexus, looks a fantastic masterwork! Will give it a go, am sure it will be well worth it!
  17. I am really grateful to you guys for your advice. Hopefully I will get a chance to play and test later, will report!
  18. Ok, I am going to double check Nifskope and the texture paths again, and do as you advise. In the meantime I have uploaded the mesh here;- My mesh If there is any problem with it, I hope to learn from your comments!
  19. Hello good people! I hope this is the right section, as it may be a Nifskope thing! A few weeks ago I uploaded a mod to Nexus and it kept crashing people's games. The issue I initially thought might have been because I do not have my install in C\ProgramFiles\Bethesda Softworks. After all, we are told not to do that with Windows 7. Mine is C\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. As it was only one (albeit complicated) mesh I created a dummy directory and got Nifskope to do it's thing with the texture paths. But the revised version still crashed people so I took the mod down. I wonder if the problem is that the TESCS is in my working OB install as it has to be, and is fouling it up? I would very much appreciate some advice for this noob modding apprentice! What do you think might be happening here?
  20. Ooops I delurked again! *Waves* Hoping to actually learn to mod and to pick up some tips on here!
  21. I know that your work is always top class and thorough, Selene, am looking forward to making myself a Demoness!
  22. There is a missing mesh in the 1.1 BSA version... Meshes\Architecture\Khettienna\IvyC\HouseExterior.nif
  23. Hello, my fellow and much more knowledgeable members! If there is already a tutorial on this elsewhere, then please correct me and point me there! I have recently started using Robert's Female Body. Whilst there are some conversions for it, and some pieces made specially for it, there are not a lot. I have seen some gorgeous stuff by distinguished modders that I'd like to see converted. So, what I am asking is, as per the topic description;- (1) What software do I need to have installed to do conversions? (2) What is the step by step process (remember I am a complete noob)? Thanking you all in advance! Ginny
