  1. Issue: Launching Skyrim via STEAM yields, 'ckm error, packed file larger than mod, might be corrupted'. The launcher quits examining / loading files on the load list after the error and sometimes crashes. Observation: This isn't true. I play Skyrim vanilla and mostly have no other data file load order program installed like Wrye Bash. NMM is installed but since lousy Vortex took over I haven't messed with NMM. I am not uninstalling 5 mods it decides it doesn't like, I want to find the correct loadlist for observation/troubleshooting. It doesn't matter what mods it complains are corrupted, in my case 5 mods. I can play them just fine. With help from TESA folks, I found the %appdata%\..\local\skyrim files that look like they control loading order. Plugins.txt SteamModList.txt DLCList.txt *loadorder.txt* is NOT in this folder as https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/583662-important-load-order-and-you/ would have you believe. I renamed the SKYRIM folder to SKYRIM.org and launched the STEAM Skyrim game and it is STILL loading 49 items. I don't have Wrye bash or other load programs so where is the Skyrim launcher getting the load list from?
  2. I created a mod 3 years ago. It works. I updated it today and deleted weapon racks and replaced them. It is a minor update going from version 1.3 to 1.3b. If people already subscribed to version 1.3 detect this version with Steam launcher, it will most likely update to 1.3b and destroy whatever items they had on the COA weapon racks. They can not save games to avoid this. They have no warning that changes were made. I ALREADY have 3 instances of this mod and I don't want to make a fourth. If I change the mod name, type, it will set my followers, # thumbs up, to ZERO. It will save the users from destroying content but it wont save me grief of starting over. How do I safely update without hurting my project stats and prevent users from destroyed inventory?
  3. I thought perhaps installing Morrowind in a 32-bit environment would fix what was ailing it. It did and it didn't. The .ini file seems to have everything it should now, but there's still an error when I press Play. It says "Failed to load cursor Meshes\.nif" and clicking on Ok brings me back to the desktop (with my screen resolution altered). Has anyone else encountered this error? Or perhaps it's just one of the hazards of running Morrowind through Wine.
  4. To avoid my mod being stolen and redistributed on Steam, I decided to upload it out there myself. Before my mod is published though, I have to accept these terms: - screen capture 1 - screen capture 2 - screen capture 3 It's not finished then?
  5. Hi, all. Stupid question from a beginner: First time delving into making a mod. Made something simple, but useful. I believe I know how to upload my mod to Steam (might try Nexus, later). But I have two quick questions: 1. After uploading, will I have the option of editing the description to add more information, or do I need to make sure the description is complete before uploading? 2. Will I be able to upload additional images for the mod after I upload it? Thanks in advance
  6. If someone could answer this question, I'd be grateful. How does one install the CS with the Steam version of Morrowind?
