  1. I created a mod 3 years ago. It works. I updated it today and deleted weapon racks and replaced them. It is a minor update going from version 1.3 to 1.3b. If people already subscribed to version 1.3 detect this version with Steam launcher, it will most likely update to 1.3b and destroy whatever items they had on the COA weapon racks. They can not save games to avoid this. They have no warning that changes were made. I ALREADY have 3 instances of this mod and I don't want to make a fourth. If I change the mod name, type, it will set my followers, # thumbs up, to ZERO. It will save the users from destroying content but it wont save me grief of starting over. How do I safely update without hurting my project stats and prevent users from destroyed inventory?
  2. I can't figure out how to make my npc die when he runs out of arrows. I am trying to accomplish: Start counting days once a player enters a trigger zone. One shot trigger. Take note of the total number of arrows in inventory of NPC, using the same one shot trigger. Compare how many arrows are fired from NPC's bow to the Total number started with. for the purposes of subtracting from the total. When it is zero, it sets off an event. Once days are counted are 30, NPC starves to death. My focus right now, is to figure out how to store these into variables and then call upon them, later in the game. I have a miscellaneous list of tracked variables in the game, courtesy creationkit.com. I just do not know how to declare the variables or pass them on in a script.
  3. Hey all! I need to convert a static model, ShipWoodbeam01, into a grabbable/droppable inventory object. What I mean is that I want the player to walk up to the item and be able to press E to pick it up and then it shows up with the same model inside the player's inventory. The player can drop it and it should fall on the ground like other objects (don't really care how accurate the physics are, just that it falls ). How can I do this? Do I need any external programs? A step-by-step guide would be very helpful so I can do this by myself and not bother you guys Cheers! Edit: Changed title to solved so other people know there's a solution within
  4. I've created a boss-level NPC for Oblivion who has magical armor appropriate to her level. When I fight her in testing, she's wearing the armor but dies way too easily. RefScope shows no indication that she gains any magical effect from the armor. Is this normal? Do I need to create a custom "ability" spell to mimic the armor's intended effect? Similarly, although this NPC carries a magic weapon with a timed damage effect (that is, N points for M seconds), the magic doesn't affect even my first-level, unprotected test character. Any ideas what's wrong?
