Modding Other Games

I hope this is the correct place to post questions not directly related to TES.  

I've considered possibly modding other games, including Sins of a Solar Empire, the upcoming Dragons Age, and Divinity 2 (if it has a CS).

In order to learn more about modding Dragons Age, I looked into NeverWinter Nights and NeverWinter Nights 2.  In looking at the requirements for the premium ($$) mods, I noticed that one requirement was you must be connected to the internet while playing.  Although this referred to the mod, I wonder, does this mean that you have to be connected to the internet to play NeverWinter Nights or NeverWinter Nights 2?  If so, maybe that will also be a requirement for Dragons Age.  If that's true, count me out!  If anyone has any knowledge about this, I'l like to hear.

Never played, Neverwinter, but from what I've read it does appear you have to be online to play. Dragon's Age does not seem to have the same requirements though.

Seems I remember long ago playing a single player NWN - I think multi-player is optional, but it's the game's big draw.

From the NWN Wiki: But the Neverwinter experience is not just for one person — adventure with all your friends. Neverwinter Nights can be played online with up to 64 friends, all sharing in the adventure.

I had to find it.  I can't really remember.

NWN has always been on my toget list. I wish I could help you but the extend of my skills right now it a weak attempt with TES (thank goodness I have this site :woot ) and Mapping for Counter-Strike: Sorce and LBP. Perhaps the links of Spellhold Studios (near the bottom) can help you.
