Favourite Race?

I think we had a little discussion about this before, but I think it in itself is worth a thread.

For me, my favourite race by far are the Dark Elves.

It's just the secrets, civil war, crime and history, and I also appreciate their appearance.

So tell me...

What about your's?  :pints:

Oh Redguards! Now there's a race I've not done a lot of research on yet beyond what I learn through researching Imperials.   aa_tongue.gif  They have a fascinating history as well. I'll have to see about adding in Historical Synopses for the races here soon.

Neither do I! :pints: (Even though I RPed one a while back in TESIV. I wonder if anyone here has a copy of TES: Redguard? :lmao: )

All I know about them is that they're great in melee encounters and originally hailed from the Continent of Yokuda, which... ain't der anymore. :woot:

How did i miss this thread?

favorite race? Argonians by far. Just cant get enough of them lizards. :smug: Argonians appear to me to be the most mysterious out of all the races. More is known about the Khajiit than the Argonians. I love the way they look, and am fascinated by the lore behind them. Every time I read it it leaves me wanting to know more. Sadly, they do not exist, so I cannot study them myself... Oh well! guess I'll just have to wait till TES V and see what happens with them. :smug:

Since I've first started in TES world, with Daggerfall, I've always played Khajiits first.

I love cats, I love their looks, the way they talk and they make excellent thieves. My favourite class.

Always one of my favorites as well. Though I most often play Dunmer in Morrowind, Khajiits are my second love. :pints: But I think I already said that somewhere above. LOL

Glaedr...SO not shocked at your choice. :smug:

Bretons, without a doubt ... although I have gone out of my way to make and play characters of almost every race, the Bretons remain my favorite. (Played one in Morrowind, too.) I love Highrock's regions and history, so rich and full of intrigue--Tiber Septim needed a miracle to take Highrock and bring it under Imperial rule, a fact that not all Breton have forgotten. (My avatar would be one of them!)

Bosmer. I love their history, their lore, I love the descriptions of Valenwood from "A Dance in Fire". I love the way they turn twee and trite fantasy conventions on their heads- mystical, at-one-with-nature crooks and cannibals. <img src='http://tesalliance.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/aa_biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Is it just me or does bethesda also like making all the strangest of characters as bosmers? (except Crassius Curio  )

Hehe, perhaps. :poke: But how was Crassius strange? I found him to be an equal opportunity lecher, but nothing more remarkable than that. He was born with beer goggles on, I'll say that. :D

 One of my favorite MW moments was convincing my husband to play and watching his reaction when Crassius the equal opportunity Lech asked him to strip! :lmao: That was priceless!

Oh man, my husband loved it! Because my hubby prides himself on playing the ugliest men in the Elder Scrolls. His Bosmer was no exception. Hideously dressed, a misshapen face, and an appalling personality. So when Crassius hit on him, we considered it a charitable act.

"Crassius sees my inner beauty. I...I love him."

"He's just using you for your body."

"I don't care! I just want to feel loved for once! Let me dream."

Personally, my favorite race is Probably Nords. Skyrim always sounded like a really great place, and the nords in general are pretty happy people. In terms of history and things like that, I might have to say Argonians. But that's really because not ALOT is known about their race as a whole compared to Dunmer, but the stuff we do know is interesting, and makes me want to find more.

I'm never interested in any live human race for a fantasy game, and elves have to be pretty darn different for me not to actively dislike them. But then, I am perverse. I like the lore of Orcs and Malacath, and I liked the Argonian speech and gait from Morrowind (although one of those is gone from Oblivion). And of course I'm always for any cold-blooded creature, although Argonians in Oblivion appear to be some variety of mammal hybrid.

Mainly I just prefer to create and play my own races. Then I can have them be very different from the norm, but also fit all my facial jewelry/tailslot mods.

Oh I miss the beast races of Morrowind. It still bugs me how they were ruthlessly humanized for Oblivion. :D It's the Klingons in reverse really. For all the wonderful things Oblivion improved, there are just as many it failed on. LOL But I wont go off on one my soapbox rants. For a change.

Hehe. I miss the much more Feline Khajiits and Lizardlike Argonians too... Although one could argue that the ones in Morrowind acted like they did, because they were born into slavery and never got an education, (not that most of Tamriel's residents were, but they'd have learnt a thing or two from 'real life') and a slave's environment is most unlikely to be remotely like that in Morrowind's cruelty.

I cannot decide on races really, to as what is my favorite race. Dunmer definitely I play the most the variety of them intrigues me. mod race I have to say the drow, quickly followed by the dragon race from drake. Other races would include the demon, demon hunter and the lineage 2 elves(have a story about it. shows how "long" i've been paying attention to gaming). For vanilla races it's more of dunmer, the nord followed by khajiit and bretons(haven't made a permenant character but wanted too) argonians are getting into my playlist a lot now. bosmers fit in more for a nature/druid theme.
