okay if i were to have this:

"...meshes/dogs/armor/etc and ...meshes/cats/armor/etc"

could i make a bsa which hold both the cat and dog folders? i am assuming yes, but i want to make sure.

Yes, your BSA can archive whatever categories you'd like. The BSA for The Oubliette for example holds all the meshes and all the textures for the entire mod. TES4 Archive is the best program I've found for BSA packing: http://sites.google.com/site/ronsworkspace/GameUtilities/oblivion

Not as in "found" but as in comparison to others...and yes if IS hadn't linked me once I'd still be beating my head against BSA Commander and The Oubliette download would have been MUCH bigger.

Oh, neat, another BSA utility. I'll have to check that one out. I've been using OBMM for BSA stuff since being unable to figure out how to properly create one in BSA Commander

I prefer Tes4Files... packs up a bsa optionally and lets you know if there are any missing file!

TES4 Files is great if you only need one BSA, it's a must have for small mods! But if you need multiple BSAs, say one for Meshes and one for Textures, or one for Sounds, TES4Files can't help you.
