Interior Cell Placeable Water

All about getting it to work!

If you do not already have an interior cell created, make a new one.

:P Smarty Says: The tutorials tell you to 'Duplicate' and existing cell. I recommend you NOT do that since you then have to try and find all the stuff that was duplicated and delete it. Some objects are 'invisible' to most modders and will cause you headaches later on.

You can create a new cell by clicking on the toolbar, >World >Cells...

This will bring up the "Cell" properties window. The worldspace selected should be 'Interiors'. If not, then select that.

In the 'EditorID' list, right-click your mouse and select 'New'. Now, give your cell a name.

XD Smarty Says: When you name an object, NEVER use a numeric character as the first character of the objects name. The game editor sometimes gets confused when you do this becuase it converts your name into a 'FormID' name which it uses. If you use a numeric, it may try to use that name instead of the formID name and cause you no end of problems.

Make sure you have your new cell selected in the 'Cell' properties window. On the Right, you will see three tabs at the top of the window, 'Common data', 'Lighting' and 'Interior Data'.

1. Place a check-mark in the 'Has Water' box.

2. Leave the 'Height' alone since it only works for exterior cells.

3. On the 'Water' drop-down list, choose the kind of water you want in the cell. All of your placeable water NIFs will aquire this water type.

"Lighting"

Give your 'Ambient' lighting and 'Fog' lighting values.

"Interior Data"

Type a 'Name' that your cell will show in-game when a door is used.

NOTICE: There is a box titled 'Water Noise Texture'. Clicking this box will allow you to add 'wave' effects to your water. If you do not select a noise, then your water will be as flat as glass.
