Gah. I feel old now......

My GRANDdaughter is 14..... she hasn't started really doing the 'boy thing' yet.... thank the gods for small favors..... and her taste in clothing is, to say the least, odd....... but, I love kids. For the most part. :) They can provide for some seriously "did that really just happen???" moments.

I really like them, especially the first one. What camera/lens do you use? Are they touched up in PS?

Thanks! The camera's a Canon EOS 5D (the old version) and I used a 17-40 F4L lens for both pictures (the lens is a bit of a saga in itself, involving a 16-35 F2.8L, its predecessor, but I'll save you that long and annoying story unless you're desperate to know; except to say I don't recommend the 16-35).

The first picture is Photoshopped slightly using a technique that's a sort of unnecessarily laborious unsharp mask to overcome my tendency for wobbly hands, but apart from that, they're both just what came off the camera. I used the jpeg files rather than the RAW ones - I have the saturation, sharpness and contrast turned up a little on the camera but nothing that I don't see with my own eyes. Although I like vivid colours, I also like them to be realistic. Sometimes I've got unintentionally saturated colours by underexposing (I used to own an EOS 3 which caused a lot of unintentional underexposure!) but in this case, I think they're an accurate rendition of how things really looked.

I am expecting to see 'you' in one of these pictures soon...

Er... no. I'm wondering if I'm breaking some rule by posting random pictures here, but when it comes to me, I find myself overcome by waves of unenthusiasm. You'll have to make do with my avatar, which admittedly isn't me, but the facial expression is close enough.
