In the aftermath of the Oblivion crisis, the Emperor is dead and no apparent heir will be named. The Blades, having served the Septim line for centuries, find themselves without an Emperor and without a cause to serve, and so they return to an ancient purpose.

Cyrodiil has been saved and the last son of the Septim line has ascended into the heavens. With the passing of time, life in the Imperial City resumes its normal candor and The Champion of Cyrodiil fades into anonymity…until a messenger arrives. Blade Captain Steffan has requested your return to Cloud Ruler Temple. He needs your help to escort a small party of Holymen to the Ruins of Sancre Tor. Seems a simple task; Steffan warns the journey is treacherous one, but if you are successful a new path may opened before you.

Thunder rolls overhead, the horses knicker nervously as you prepare to make the long journey to Sancre Tor. As the heavy storm clouds blot out the sky overhead, Captain Steffan catches your eye and smiles gratefully with a nod. The seasoned Blade foresees a dangerous road ahead and is obviously relieved to have a second blade along. As you mount your steed, the animal shakes the rain water out of its heavy mane. The four holymen appear from the Great Hall of Cloud Ruler Temple and begin to chant nervously. Steffan takes the lead and you close the holymen between you protectively as you weave your way down the mountain. Lightning flashes and on the distant road you see an unusual flicker of light. Someone is waiting for you in the darkness.

Bandits harry your party all along the road to Sancre Tor; with quick thinking and a quicker blade, you manage to keep them at bay. The holymen are exhausted but alive and well when the ruins at Sancre Tor finally come into view. No longer the ancient relic of a fortress you remember from months before, a vibrant living city has sprung up around it, reclaimed at last as a holy place and the new focal point for Blade affairs in Tamriel. Within the gray stone walls you find an army of Blades from across the Providences, living and working as one. Steffan offers you his hand and his thanks for your help with his escort detail, but the smile fades from his lips as he reads your expression. In your mind you wonder, with so many Blades so close at hand, why would Steffan send for you? Why would he require your help? The Blade Captain nods intuitively, "I know what you're thinking," he says evenly, "and you're right. There's another reason you've been called to Sancre Tor..."

Reclaiming Sancre Tor is an in-depth story based expansion pack that adds hundreds of new characters, overlapping quests, new worlds, and multiple unique dungeon levels to the original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion RPG by Bethesda Softworks. The story surrounds a contingent of Blades from Morrowind who have reclaimed the ancient ruins of Sancre Tor in the aftermath of the Oblivion crisis. The player is invited to join their ranks and must aid the Blades in serving the Empire as well as unraveling their own destiny.

Position Needed: Voice Director

Reclaiming Sancre Tor is now recruiting!! I'm looking for an experienced and qualified voice director to work on RC2 of the project. This person will be responsible for organizing the dialogue (this has already been done in part by Beta Tester lilith who has collected and organized the dialogue outside of the CS), managing acting talent (ie keep track of who is doing what and what still needs doing) collecting (and if need be converting) finished files, cleaning/mastering files, and generally overseeing the voice/dialogue phase of the project. :police:

I am looking for someone with some notable experience, be prepared to link me to your past work, as much as I love giving enthusiastic newbies a chance to shine, I'm needing someone to lighten my load here, not add to it. I just don't have time to train someone with no experience, it'd be easier to do it myself in that case. I will be one of the primary voice actors during this phase and will still be actively supporting RC1 of the project so I need someone else to hold the reins for a bit so I can focus on my own performances. I will be present the whole way to review finished files and help make those leadership decisions, I just need someone to get in the trench with me prepared to get dirty. XD

:rofl: Update: At long last, Reclaiming Sancre Tor has officially entered the closed Beta Testing phase. Stay tuned for updates and release information as the testing progresses. The first release of RST will be RC1 and will be released with limited and silent voice files. RC2 will follow later with fully voiced dialogue. :pints:

Well not too terrible, stalled right now for a bug in a rather complex companion script; he stopped letting testers progress. Proving difficult to fix without breaking something else, but I'll get it there. :poke:

Well I hope you get the bug sorted out quickly, but good to hear it's progressing and the beta testing is proving effective. :poke: Keep up the good work, everyone who is involved!

Long before, Skyrim won't slow us down any. I hope to have RC1 released early in the new year with voicework to follow shortly thereafter. I'm actually glad ESV's release date is so far off. I was worried they were on the verge of releasing in March and RST would be overshadowed by Skyrim, by me as much as anyone. :D So, I'm very glad it's been announced, load off my mind, and it's far enough out yet that RST will have a nice run before the players start in on Skyrim. :D

:woot: Update: Bit of an overdue update here. Yesterday I turned over Beta version 0.0.6 to the testers. This marks the end of testing on the really long chapter of RST. Those of you who have been following the development on this awhile will remember this was the longest chapter to develop because of its complex companion AI and scripted events and as luck would have it, it also proved to be the longest and most challenging to test/fix as well. Testers are at about the 19 gamehour mark. From here forward the bugs should be a lot more manageable to fix for awhile, so I'm hoping this expedites the testing a bit now. I will endeavor to post regular updates, it just slips my mind it seems until someone pokes at me. :lmao:

:woot: Update: Gearing up for release before too long the main section of the RST Project Forum is now open to the public: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/forum/31-sancre-tor-project/ over the weeks to come we'll be posting some more developer tidbits, sneak peeks, and fun stuff to the visitors area so check back often for updates, news and more. When RST releases, we will open the rest of the forum up for sight seers to poke around in our dev room, hidden gallery, and testing hall. This means it's close kids... :wicket:
