Natalie Dormer officially joined the cast last week. I don't know about the others, other than that they're fan favorites. I've not actually heard any rumors about them, though.

There are rumors about three new actors joining for season two... really dont look if you dont want to be spoilered (is that even a word?)

Christopher Eccleston (9th Doctor) for either Stannis Baratheon or Balon Greyjoy, Tony Curran (those damn Scottish actors, gotta love'em) and Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn in The Tudors) as Margaery Tyrell.

I love that part, at least in hindsight. It is beautifully written and sums up everything that is great about Martin.

Agreed. And the brilliant part about it was that I knew it was coming, yet because he had created such strong characters that I was invested in, I still hoped and told myself that it wouldn't.

The way he slowly introduced a sense of foreboding and danger through Catelyn's eyes was fantastic. It's a point where the POV perspective really served him well.

I also love the use of Rains of Castramere. I'm not usually a fan of including songs in books - because everyone does it these days and its hard to get an actual song across - but the way it set the scene and encompassed the reveal was wonderful.

Absolutely, and I love how he introduced the song previously, but in a way that didn't obviously foreshadow how he was going to use it later in that scene. I feel like in many books the author gives a detail like that but it's so pigeonholed for only one use. The way he brought the song into the scene after already establishing its significance was brilliant. I think when Catelyn recognized the song being played was the moment I thought "Oh wow, this really is going to happen".

I think I'm still a bit in shock from the red wedding even though I'm reading the newest book now. LOL

Just saw the first three episodes and I must say that it stays really close to the book, which is a very good thing indeed!
