follow up on the lost papers ...

i found where I had stashed the other two. I have all six, but the quest updates log shows only five, so, somewhere, one of them did not update the quest log. Since its about a cabin, that I only wanted to 'see,' I all set... and had a look inside. All fixed. Love your personalized shield. I await the fix for the

apprentice, etc. in v1.0.4 Thanks again.....

Pleased to say I have it working now. Gave load order another beating with BOSS, then reordered the mods that BOSS always puts in the wrong place (you would think that it would know Bashed Patch and Deadly Reflex need to be last by now). And my PC, Steffan and the good brothers were plodding along the roads nicely until we ran into some bandits and I got a quest update

Telling me that I had failed to escort the brothers safely to Sancre Tor and that the Blades would never accept me now. It then loaded the save immediately before we set out.

Moral of the story is save at every corner I guess!

Hi all, playing the RST mod, and I love it. I'm supposed to be looking for the Earth stone, only the ghost lamp at the Topal Bay Coastguard station keeps falling into the water and getting stuck. I've done everything I can think of to help it out and it just wont work.

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks

This is possibly a conflict. Could be player position, you may be blocking his path. Try activating the lamp post while you are standing on the end of the dock so he has to go back toward the station. Let me know if that makes a difference, I've been tracking this rare bug for awhile now, do my best to get you sorted :good:

Various semi-problematic Earth Kingdom stuff you may or may not already know:

- There's a bunch of stuff behind the coast guard ruins where the Black Flag shows up that's floating.

- The ruined ship as you're going up the mountain on the Isle of Half-Light (xx00a325) has a lot of graphical anomolies. If you climb inside the gaping hole, the interior is completely transparent, and there's a zero-width plank mesh protruding from the cabin that looks pretty awful. If I see what you're doing there, it could probably be fixed in fairly short order with a few stencil property updates on the mesh, though you'd have some zero-width stuff no matter what unless you went with the shipwreck black mesh that already exists. I suspect you know all this, I'm just here to tell you it really does look awful, and detracts from the otherwise awesome atmosphere.

- There's a mace trap on Earth Kingdom level 1. I couldn't get the left-hand side of it to trigger for the life of me. Walked around on it all day, and nothing. Right-hand side is fine.

- So, rock spiders. Apparently don't do any damage? Queen was slightly dangerous, hurt me a little, but the large and small rock spiders couldn't hurt me at all, nor could they so much as hit me despite making the attack animation. Stood there naked for a while, nada. I was pretty much ok with that because the big ones have stupid huge amounts of hp (I broke 3.5 weapons just getting to the queen), but this didn't seem to be working like it ought. I don't have any abilities that would really account for this, and everything ELSE kills me just fine, so, er, uh.

- There's a room on level 2 that's a web maze. Which, leaving aside the idea that webs with collision was really confusing and not in line with any other webs ever, there's also a couple of rock spiders in there AND an Ayleid killer stone that's a 2 shot kill with no good way to dodge it. May just be me, but this seemed a little excessive, and I had to tgm through it even after I figured the maze part out because I just couldn't dodge fast enough (especially while fighting million hp spiders), and anyway it shot me through a pillar at least twice.

- There's also a bunch of rotated cave pieces in at least that room if not a bunch of others, which leads to other visual problems, but.

- Speaking of the queen, a couple things. First, boy would it have been nice to know I had to mash those buttons in order, and in the opposite order than I was trying before I got trapped in one of those short hallways with the queen. Second, yeah, turns out you can get trapped in one of those short hallways with the queen and have to tcl yourself out. Might be worth looking into replacing those with alcoves, because if you're in there long enough, the game WILL move the queen in there with you, and sad times will be had by all.

Burning spiders FTW, however.

- On a pure curiosity note, when I got the earth stone and was heading back, was the way I was supposed to go leaping off the bridge into the river? Couldn't see a better way, and it worked, so. Also, is there supposed to be a road in the non-mountain parts? There was some indication that there should've been, but it was all covered in grass, so I wasn't sure if that was by design or just grass getting out of control again.

All of that aside, sweet dungeon. Nice atmosphere. Quite enjoyed the romp, even if my weapon and armor repair bill is going to be astronomical.

oddly enough i didn't notice these bugs (the spiders didn't even hit me, i'm good at evading blows, spells & arrows to a lesser extent), i didn't have too much trouble with the dungeon either. it was quite hard, however not... um, overdone. i guess that's the word i'm looking for. you want hard, try escorting the priests through the shadowfang keep area, with extra werewolves as part of legends from the north & extra werewolf spawns from curse of hircine, that was crazy hard. (took me like 9 tries)

- There's a bunch of stuff behind the coast guard ruins where the Black Flag shows up that's floating. -Totally wasn't in Beta, CS Gremlins at play, Fixed

I suspect you know all this, I'm just here to tell you it really does look awful, and detracts from the otherwise awesome atmosphere. -Turned to close, I thought it looked okay, but what do I know :lmao: Fixed

- There's a mace trap on Earth Kingdom level 1. I couldn't get the left-hand side of it to trigger for the life of me. Walked around on it all day, and nothing. Right-hand side is fine. -It's an old dungeon, things are bound to break, lucky you, trap failure is the adventurer's friend XD

- So, rock spiders. Apparently don't do any damage? Queen was slightly dangerous, hurt me a little, but the large and small rock spiders couldn't hurt me at all, nor could they so much as hit me despite making the attack animation. Stood there naked for a while, nada. I don't have any abilities that would really account for this, and everything ELSE kills me just fine, so, er, uh. -Well...the rock spiders have the same health as an ogre, that's not exactly unreasonably stupid, again they're leveled so that's going to make them tougher. :ouch: As for the attack, they have a damage roll, but they do seem to lock up sometimes had mixed reports in Beta, I'll have another look. Looks like a better combat style has improved this performance. :book:

May just be me, but this seemed a little excessive, and I had to tgm through it even after I figured the maze part out because I just couldn't dodge fast enough (especially while fighting million hp spiders), and anyway it shot me through a pillar at least twice. -You'd think once you couldn't pass through one of these extra heavy duty webs the confusion would pass. Isn't it nice to do new things? :P That stone is vanilla and chooses strength of the charge based on level, as I said before your level 30 character is at the cap for RST (I adjusted the readme for the next version to be more clear on this) the challenges are bound to be much harder at that level, that doesn't make the design excessive though. I've run that dungeon dozens of times at levels 10, 15, 22 with no issues.

- There's also a bunch of rotated cave pieces in at least that room if not a bunch of others, which leads to other visual problems, but. -The cave kit is being used in an unconventional way, in that use, I think it looks great.

-There is only one way to press the blocks, the doors are locked and only unlock as each block is pressed unless consoled open  Not advisable to linger there long enough for Mama to squeeze in, as you say sad times for all, bad strategy, tag the block and move on while she's distracted. It's in the wiki even. XD

Burning spiders FTW, however.

There was some indication that there should've been, but it was all covered in grass, so I wasn't sure if that was by design or just grass getting out of control again. -Yes that's the way and the road is meant to be overgrown as it's no longer in use.

All of that aside, sweet dungeon. Nice atmosphere. Quite enjoyed the romp, even if my weapon and armor repair bill is going to be astronomical.
