I'm trying to get Daggerfall and have a bit of a problem. This is what I used to set it up so far, but I've hit a snag trying to actually start the game.

Did you see this? Also if you do a web search for "daggerfall dosbox", I found several links. At one time there was even a complete package with DOSBox configured for Daggerfall already, but I'm not sure if that's still available.

The last time I played Daggerfall, I had an old PC (Pentium MMX!) kicking around and used that. Unfortunately it gave up the ghost last year...

I've actually gotten the game installed, but am unsure if it can be run without a disc.

If you are looking to play daggerfall, someone has done up a simple installer for the game...install and play very easy:

I can't remember. But if you download it from Beth, then that version would be configured to run without the disc. The version DaMage linked might work too - I suspect it would be set up to run without the disc as well.

I have the best Daggerfall install ever. I just need to drag and drop the Dagger.exe on the DosBox icon on my desktop and off I go. I don't remember how I got it setup like that, but it's real easy.

I've gotten the game running thanks to Mage. Who knows, maybe someday when I'm bored I'll recreate some of the towns in Morrowind.
