I am doing a new install of OB to try out some of the mega mods that have been developed that i was always afraid to put into my main install, which I have run successfuly for five years....

so in this new install i am also using OMOD, Wyre Bash, BOSS, Tes4Edit, Tes4LODGen, and Plugy to maintain order and workingness.... and cleaning things as i go along. also OSE and OBGE_Core-30054.

About OBGE_Core...it said to just drop the archive into Data folder or activate with Wyre, i did not know how to activate with Wyre as i am NOT using the BAIN function, i find OMOD does well enough and I just did not want to have to learn yet another utility in the middle of doing the install.

first try at running the combined bashed patched mod set OB would not even start, no load screen or anything, when i tried to run using Obse Loader exe it would flash and then nothing. So i am cleaning the mods that need cleaning and hoping that will help. Here is my load order, i am overly ambition possibly and may have to start over...but I wanted to ask advice here from experienced players who will i am sure recognize the main mods... is there a change in load order that may help?

the main mega mods are AWEL, Immersive Interiors, All Natural Weather system, Animated Windows and some improved normals.

I also added Archive Invalidation Invalidated but was not sure how to use it...

the read me says:

2.) Place ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa into your Oblivion\Data folder.

3.) Kiss your ArchiveInvalidation.txt goodbye and delete it! If you are using Oblivion Mod Manager's BSA ArchiveInvalidation make sure you use it to remove all BSA edits and disable it from doing ArchiveInvalidation again.

I had just heard we needed to use AI to get some things to show up....so maybe i got the wrong thing.

Use BOSS to set your load order. Make sure to get the updated Master List as well. Works great.

Did you test the game after installing each mod? That's the best way to make sure you don't run into problems. Create a test char on a plain vanilla game, get them out of the sewers, save, then after installing each mod go in and walk around the world, make sure it works.

When using mods that require OBSE always launch via OBSE.

Wrye Bash is a good tool for troubleshooting load orders and problems. Looking at the Mods tab are all the checkboxes green?

There should be no mods after your bashed patch. If BOSS doesn't recognize them you could report them in the official BOSS thread, or simply right click on your bashed patch, go to File > Redate and say ok to today's date. That'll place it at the bottom.

Always run BOSS after every mod you install.

Load Order issues I see;

++ Border-Region-disabled.esp ---> don't need, a simple ini tweak will do the same

02 BreakUndies.esm ---> is there no related esp? masters usually do

22 Compass-Disable_POIs.esp
23 Compass-Disable_QuestMarkers.esp
24 Compass-Disable_Both.esp ---> this sounds like it does both so don't need 1 + 2. These are also wrye bash tweaks so you don't need these at all.

Don't see OBGE in load order?

Don't need archiveinvalidationinvalidated.bsa any more. Use BSA Redirection in either OBMM or Bash.

Also, do yourself a favour and install the Unofficial Patches. Did you install the Official Patch?

thanks both of you much, that is a big help. Yes I used BOSS and do after each load.

I put in OBGE but the instruciotns said to just drop it into the plug ins for OBSE, did i put it in the wrong place? there was no esp or esm with it.

some of the entries in Bash are all red...do you know what to do about that in an easy reply? Since this load is running ok, i an not too worried just wondered ..and i will also read the detailed Bash instrucitons. thanks again.

Bash entries that are red can mean a few things:

1) Installers Tab: Severe unresolved conflicts
2) Mods Tab: Missing Masters
3) Saves Tab: Missing mods from save file

Bash should expose the problem(s) when highlighting red items. I.E. Mods tab: Clicking on a mod which is listed in red, the required files will be listed in the right-hand panel; missing files will be noted.

You didn't really mention which entries are red; I tried to give a "general description."

great that will help a lot, i will work thru them.

the load still runs fine, so i guess it is not a critical error but i do hope to have a completely clean and proper install.

I made an OMOD out of OBGE and it installed fine now. thanks again for all the help here, you all are great :)

I did install the official patch.

I reviewed the changes in the Unofficial Patch, I have run the game for five years with no serious problems or crashes...i am hesitant ....i use both body and item replacers and i dont want to lose all those changes as they are a big part of my research and study....

i will check out the manual instal version to see if i can work around that. I dont need optimized meshes as I already have those i did myself.

thanks for the suggestion tho, it got me to read the changes the unoffiical patch causes....some of which are like and are useful and some of which are intrusive and not needed, imho. a big project that. so many generous people here.

looks like everything is running fine so far, biggest change is Natural Weather, i came out of the Imperial Prisoin and it was raining and blowing and dark, just like a real stormy night, very nicely done. BOSS and Wyre Bash really do a wonderful job, and i removed those esps you recoomended and did the ini tweak for borders using Bash just as you suggested Hana thanks, so it looks like all is well. I have the unofificial patch but have not integrated it yet, i would like the quest fixes but my texture and mesh situation is iffy still as i have texture seams on bodies and had some skeleton problems as i am trying out various replacers...but thanks for the encouragement to use the patches. :) and for all the help.
