Ok, tonight in the shouty it was pointed out that lady`s stockings could be used as PC fan filters. I think it`s a great idea and so ...without going into any of the ensuing hilarity....I agree. It`s a fine fabric that will allow airflow and still stop alot of dust...easy and cost effective.

Also to add for further uses I have a couple things I'd like to add.(odd I post in this I know... >.> don't judge!)

Nylons are sometimes used by lifeguards in jellyfish infested waters, to protect their skin from the stingers, supposedly the mesh is so fine the stingers can't penetrate as easily(if at all)

They also can be used as a very cheap wind buffer for when you're doing professional voice work. while you can spend a good few bucks for a professional mic with the same buffer, a couple bucks and a coat hanger will give you similar effect. This will eliminate the "pops" in your voice and wind when you're speaking into the mic while you're doing your lines. This will vastly improve the quality of your recordings by eliminating at least effects of your breath hitting the mic.

The last time I bought pantyhose, they were sold as Queen Tall size, although I only needed the Petite size. So what are they called now, Meo? Seems you're an expert...

Actually that reminds me, I can probably cut up all my petite size pantyhose 'cause I ain't fittin' in those anymore...

It was hilarious revisiting this thread but...I have another tip ... sticky notes. yup , you can use the sticky edge of those post-its to clean between the keys of your keebord. I saw this online today and tried it at work. I found that if I folded the notes I was going to throw away so that the sticky edge was out and lined up, it was stiffer and got more schmutz off the sides of the keys. amazing how much they picked up.

I must admit, I had forgotten about this thread..... Imagine my surprise when there is a thread in the "new material" list, titled "Ladies Nylons", and then, much to my surprise, it is in the Hardware/Software section...... There was a serious WTF moment....... It was refreshing reading this again though.
