I'm using a race mod and just finished my first Arena match. The weird thing is, even though Owyn will let me fight, the Battle Raiment won't equip. (i.e. my character is naked, and I get no armor rating.) The mod I'm using is "Soqui Race" by artifex0 at the Elder Scrolls Nexus. Thanks in advance.

That race cannot wear shoes because of it's special feet.
Arena armour is all one piece, including the shoes, therefor, that race cannot wear it.

So, does this mean I'd have to get another mod made just to add a custom Raiment? (Although it did let me put on armor during the match).

Yes, if you can find a mod that splits the armor up into pieces.
Or you could try this - so you can wear anything you want.
