Good Day,

I am a newbie with modifying or creating NIF files. I have recently installed Blender v2.49b from the Nexus website but getting started is very challenging. I am looking for tutorials in support of modifying NIF files under this environment in support of TESIV plug-in development. My first trial run was to simply change the aspects of a NIF standard staff. Any tips on how to get started with this tool interface would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
KWITS

Go to your start menu...click all programs...finder blender and rt click to open the file. Find the Blender .exe. rt click and place a shortcut to desktop. that`s a start.

I made these video tutorials about 3 years ago, but they should still help a bit.

The updated version installed Blender under Program Files but not the older version. Perhaps, I should reboot.

Vince's original modeling class tutorials are still here. Great for beginners.

Terrific video so far but you are moving through the motions so fast. You must have memorized a lot of short keys for the tool's feature set. You've got me excited!

What three chapters? There were no unzipped documents under my install of Blender.

You may have to look under the "older versions" tab at Blender but I think the manual is a seperate download. I`ll look and see if I have it on my PC. If so maybe I can package it up for you when I get home.

Please review the screenshot from Blender. For some reason after using Edge select and finally doing an unwrap, the image under the UV grid is something other than what was selected. What could cause this effect.

Because you've unwrapped a cube. Somewhere. Did you delete the cube that appears when you open blender?

Hit the "A" key to select all your vertices of your mesh, then unwrap.

I only started out with one cube so I don't know how these objects were unrapped

Collision is covered in detail in Vince's tutorial.

Read the tutorial. Go through it step by step. Or watch echo's tutorials (you can always pause). I think you're getting ahead of yourself too fast. 3D modeling is NOT something you can learn in an hour. It's taken me months, and I still learn every day.

Where is Vince's tutorial? I went through the manual that you provided. I am still learning the basic functions and interface.

Hello, I need some clarification in using the UV image editor effectively. What is the best way to mark the edge of a model? I went through one of the videos on the subject and there were a lot of hot keys used but I did not hear or see which keys were actually used. Do you have any suggestions?
