These are the lines I need doing.
Character 1. Dockside drunk. Male. Age about 40-50 years. Manual labourer at an Imperial dock. Looking for a European accent.
Lines:
What brings you to the docks friend?
I get to hear a lot of news at the Dockside. For a flagon of Covanician (CO VAN EESHIAN) pale wine I can tell you a few things.
Hand it over then. I'm as thirsty as a Karithian (KAR ITH EEAN) dog.
If you get some Covanician Pale, come back. Dont waste my time with anything else.
Thank you friend. Now down to business
That Consullor (KONSUL OR) Leyannara (LAY ON ARA), his daughter went to worship at Idira's (ID EERAS) Temple down south. Only she's late getting back.
Well, late is as good as kidnapped, captured or dead. Leyannara will pay a fine price to have her brought safely home.
If I were the courageous type, I would be up at Leyannara's villa trying to get me' self employed to find her.
ENDS MALE
START FEMALE
Description: Anna Leyannara, daughter of Consullor. Wealthy female aged approx 18-20 years. Aloof towards player. Used to commanding rather than be rescued. Accent again European.
DIALOGUE STARTS
(suspicious) Who are you and how did you get in here?
(arrogant) You do not look like the kind of person I should easily trust
(arrogant) Without proof, I am going nowhere with you.
(Amazed) Yes this is my fathers signet ring. So you are to be my rescuer I suppose.
(Begrudging respect) Lead us back to Kitiron (KITI RON) then, but this had better not be a trick.
I worship at Idira's temple every year. This is the first time the local tribes have been hostile to us.
(anger) Someone has stirred in them a hatred of the Holorian (HOL OR EEAN) people.
(sincere) I owe you a debt of thanks. I will put out word that you are a friend to the Priestesses of Idira.
DIALOGUE ENDS
MALE 2; Consullor Leyannara.
Description: age approx 50 years. Wealthy Imperial male. European accent. Initially suspicious.
Dialogue starts:
(impatient) State your business. I am busy.
(hostile) who told you this?
(angry) I will not have the commons discussing my private affairs. But I admit I am concerned for my daughter.
(softer) Anna is a priestess of Idira. Every year she worships at Idira's Temple, but she has never been late returning.
(impatient) I am not here to entertain you with tales of the Gods. The Temple is in the south.
(softer) There are ships to be bought at the harbour. 50 gold will easily do it. Here, take it.
(softer) The whole Island is dangerous. I do not know what has happened to her.
(softer) I will be in your debt if you can find her and bring her back.
(softer) take this signet ring, it will prove to her that I have sent you.
(happy) thank the Gods, my daughter is safely returned.
(happy) My deepest thanks. I promised you a reward and here it is.
(happy) Consider yourself my good friend. My name will open doors for you.
DIALOGUE ENDS
MALE 3.
Guard of Anna Leyannara. Age approx 30 years. European accent.
DIALOGUE STARTS
Stop where you are and come no further. Who are you?
I advise you to get out now.
You may pass then. The Consullor's daughter is further down the passageway.
If any harm comes to her or her servant, there will be a huge price on your head my friend.
DIALOGUE ENDS
Mesogea Mod. First quest ready. Need a male and a female VA please.

Is the mod finished or close to finished yet? I'd suggest waiting until the mod is close to release before casting. Even if you do get takers, they're likely to be very inexperienced.
Quite a few voice actors have experiences where they put effort into voice acting for a mod, and something happens and all their voice work gets flushed down the toilet.
If I were a VA thinking of answering, these would be my concerns:

If I were a VA thinking of answering, these would be my concerns:
- Only the first quest is done. Will the mod get finished and released?
- Will a better voice actor submit their work at the same time as me?
- Will a better voice actor submit their work six months later, causing you to discard my work?
- How professional will this mod be? All I see for the casting is a wall of text with no formatting. No screenshots, no information about the mod.

So many mods are started and abandoned, or started and fade away through lack of interest from the main instigator. That is not the case with Mesogea. It has been going for a few years now and has had an enormous amount of effort put into it by a number of people who have done some fantastic 3d stuff and texturing. I dont waste my time, so nor will anyone else who is good enough to provide elements of the mod.
This is the website:
http://www.mesogea.org/
What has been done so far:
Entire landmass is done and has been region edited. This is the biggest landmass mod for Oblivion and one of the longest running mods. As you can see from the video this is not a here today, gone tomorrow mod and is at the stage where hundreds of NPC's are in place. I am now adding in the quests and need to add the voices in as I go as it will be a waste of effort to create dozens upon dozens of quests with hundreds of lines of dialogue only to have no voice actors commit to help. This has to be a two way commitment. The sheer quantity of work done on this mod proves beyond all doubt the level of commitment to it and the determination to finish it.
The mod has been released stage by stage. The first release was a pure tourism release so that people could wander around the biggest landmass every made for Oblivion. Its landmass is bigger than the MERP map and is entirely stable.
This is the 2010 trailer. A huge quantity of work has been done since then: MESOGEA TRAILER
This is the town of Kitiron where the above quest starts: KITIRON HARBOUR AND TOWN
This shows the NPC's for one of the Cities. AGARIA IN HIGH DEFINITION There are three cities fully ready and with NPC's.
This is another city and is on the new Youtube Channel for Mesogea MesogeaRP Port Deboran
As I have said, the mod has been released up to the 2010 stage but an enormous quantity of change has taken place and a mass of work has been done. The next release is intended before the end of this year and will include all of the NPC's, the quests, the new locations, new creatures, weapons, scenery and so forth. What it needs now are voice actors to give the population a voice. Basically I am testing the interest here by putting out the above request. Once voices are done for one character I have no intention of changing them or having other people re-do them as long as they are of decent quality.
How professional will the mod be? Watch the trailers and visit the website. We moved over to Skyrim to test things out earlier this year and this is a new website so does not have the stuff from the previous website where there were more than fifty members and between 6 and 10 people producing stuff that is now in the mod.
I am hoping to receive a decent response from the voice actors project, however it works two ways. I am spending a lot of time and effort on this mod and expect a modicum of commitment back. I dont expect people to commit substantial time to it, but I have had too many people promise and not deliver and that just slows things down considerably. I do not manage this mod from a distance without any effort on my own part. My efforts so far probably amount to about 95 percent of what is already done and as can be seen, its considerable. I appreciate some people might thing this is blowing my own trumpet, but as you and I both know, what is seen on the surface is a fraction of the effort it takes to try and test until everything works well.
I am sincerely hoping to have a bit of interest within a few days and for a couple of people to provide the voices as I am committed to this project and have proven myself time and again. I dont have the time or inkling to have people provide voices only to have them sitting as mp3's or wavs on my system for a few months then to drop the whole project. If people are good enough to provide, I will meet that commitment by making sure their work is not wasted. A few hours wasted to each voice actor would mean several years and thousands of hours wasted for me. That's not going to happen.
I appreciate your advice and it's good advice. I tend to presume that as the project has been alive and regularly updated over the months and years, people will generally know about it. That's often a presumption on my part.
The first quest is done. It is tested and working. I want to finish and polish every quest before moving on. I several word files filled with quests that are worked out and planned. I have the NPC's, locations, objects and so forth.
So please shout up and volunteer. No effort will be wasted and the end result will be high quality and worth it.

Your samples are excellent quality. Are you able to do a European/N African/Near Eastern accent as Mesogea is Mediterranean (albeit a fictional pre-classical period)? If so, it would be great to have your help. As you can see the project is very highly developed.

I'll give it a shot. Though, I may need samples of what those accents sound like.

This is a link to a latin speech: .
As you can see the older languages can be less melodic than modern accents such as American, Australian and regional english other than northern counties. This lady does have a very interesting accent and gives an idea of a Med accent into English.
These are just ideas though.

Eturan is home to spiders, the biggest you ever saw, and the deadliest.
Every month Marus Galyar takes wealthy clients to hunt in the wilderness. Try him for employment.
Want to make money? Trade in leopard pelts. They bring a fortune.
Quest information:
Two days ago I was robbed. Stole a months pay they did! I'll split it 50 50 if you can get my money back.
There were three of them. Ex Alscoria (ALSK ORIA) by the look of them.
Alscoria? Imperial military, hard as iron, stupid as mules mostly.
The docks most likely, and I dont go near the docks day or night. Too dangerous.
I suppose you could ask at the Heron, a tavern thick with thieves it is.
Have you got my money yet?
I can't afford to feed myself never mind my children. Have some pity.
You got it! Blessings of Midius (MID E US) upon you friend. Here, half as promised.
General talk:
The 'waterside'? Most exclusive tavern in Karisum. No key, no entry.
Keys are given to members. My job is to greet and to serve.

Welcome sir, welcome to the "waterside".

Great work all and much appreciated. I am back at work for a few days then have days off where I can plough into this lot and get the entire quest finished ready for the next one. I will post another set of voices asap.

A brief update. All is going very well indeed. I have had to add in a few more characters and develop the quest into four quests. I am half way through testing and its been fun playing. I have to finish the esp, then merge it into the master to add in the voices but this has not stopped and is still going very strong indeed. I appreciate the efforts. Once this quest (quests) is complete and tested fully, I can start on the next ones.

Another quick update to say thanks to all who offered and are involved in this. The quest has developed into five quests! so this has been an epic journey that is nearing completion and the voice acting is just excellent. The reason it has taken a long time is that I have to complete every aspect of every quest, add new stuff, adjust old stuff then play test it again and again purposefully trying to break every line of the quest until it works fully. Then I can merge it to the master file and add the voice acting. I am almost there.
A few more characters have developed along the way so I will have to post a couple more voice acting bits to fully polish the thing off. I will then post a movie introducing the quest. I appreciate all the help.

List so far:
Some people submitted work and much of it has been used. As the voices are old world accented, rather Latin or East European sounding (and this is excellent for the Holorian race) I was not able to use those samples that had a noticable modern world accent such as North American or more modern English sounding. Thank you so much for sending the samples, but I am trying to keep this firmly old world sounding.
Anna Leyannara: female. Required. Needs to be a strong female voice but with a hint of old world accent.
Marissa Secara: completed. VIRIDIANE
Doorwarden: completed. DR SMITH
Guard 1: completed. TheKarithian
Guard 2: required slight accent strong male voice. Commander of guard of Anna Leyannara.
Guard 3: required, similar to above.
Consullor Leyannara: completed.
Olybrius: dockside drunkard: required, needs a male slightly slurred accent.
Bartender (The Heron tavern) required. Male.
START FEMALE: ANNA LEYANNARA.
Description: Anna Leyannara, daughter of Consullor. Wealthy female aged approx 18-20 years. Aloof towards player. Used to commanding rather than be rescued. Accent again European.
DIALOGUE STARTS
(suspicious) Who are you and how did you get in here?

(anger) Someone has stirred in them a hatred of the Holorian (HOL OR EEAN) people.
(sincere) I owe you a debt of thanks. I will put out word that you are a friend to the Priestesses of Idira.
DIALOGUE ENDS
Captain of ship: Sea skimmer: required. Male. (European sounding) Sea captain, bit of a drinker.
DIALOGUE STARTS
We are setting sail soon, but going near to that savage haunted place will cost you.
A sail was seen away south. May be pirates, may be a trade ship. Go sleep. We will make way soon.
Sixty gold. Not one less. Or you can walk there if you have several days to waste and don't fear death.
Away towards shore, up into the bay. This is as near as we dare take you. So swim.
That was never the deal. If we remain here we risk attack. This place is a haven for pirate scum. Best of luck to you.
I hope you are enjoying your stay on board my ship.
Thanks. Take the double bed down below and up fore. We'll get underway when you're safe away.
Get to the rudder, we'll outrun them.
I hear the Karith are raiding the up into Aretia (Ar eee sheeya) again. That's the furthest north in nigh on forty years.
It's two weeks until we sight land. We won't be back at Kitiron for more than a month.
Get that hold into some kind of order. Strap down the barrels, your pay is in that cargo.
It took us five days to reach Hithorion (Hith or iyon). It would have taken ten if we hadn't stolen those horses.
We took the horses and he chased after the sheep, but at least the one he caught was better looking than his wife (laughter).
DIALOGUE ENDS
Boryan of Kitiron. Tavern owner, bit of a thug and a schemer. Will sell information and hears a lot of talk in the Tavern. Male, European accent.
DIALOGUE STARTS
Right. I'll send my lad ahead. Captain will know you're coming.
No captain would consider an untrusted passenger aboard. Come back when you've found some sense.
The SeaSkimmer is due to sail south soon enough. Give me five gold and I'll send my lad to tell the captain you're trustworthy.
Keep your voice down you fool. Besides, that kind of information will cost you.
Then best of luck to you.
Ten gold. Then we can talk.
Midnight onwards they're prowling the docks and they are holed up with old Maxentius, owns a store across the bay. Max is their fence.
Kitiron is a dump. Dont get drunk and fall asleep on the street or you'll end up in the hold of some ship, half way to Deboran.
One night, two gold, no barter, no bargain. Price is what it is.
Sing us a song, wake this place up.
DIALOGUE ENDS
MALE Fisherman, ex soldier, retired. Age about 50-55 years. Tough.
DIALOGUE STARTS
You look handy with a weapon. You want a well paid job?
Fishing here isn't free my friend. The beach is owned.
Come to check on things?
Go tell Maryanna you want one. Pay your money and come back here. We'll set the net out for you.
Change your mind, you know where to find me.
Pay for a pitch and see what your net gives you. You get anything, you sell it up at the docks. It's honest work.
When the workers keep dying there's always work to be had. Go talk to Maryanna at the beach house. She'll see you gainfully employed.
Suit yourself. But if you decide you want a bit of danger and good pay, you go talk to Maryanna down at the beach house.
Damn spiders, the bane of my retirement.
You just keep watch up there, I dont want fangs in my back while I'm working.
Keep the fires lit, keep your eyes open and stay awake.
Ahh nothing again today. Looks like it's all fished out.
I heard tell that there's intent to murder the Senevate (Sen e vate) of the garrison. (Senevate is a middle ranking officer)
Twice now we've seen Karith sails, twice in this last few weeks. Somethings not right.
Give us a song
I hear you're getting good at hunting that spider filth. Keep up the good work.
DIALOGUE ENDS
Maxentius, Male, shop owner. Deals in ceramics, statues etc. Also a fence for stolen goods. Age about 50 years. A bit slimy.
DIALOGUE STARTS
I don’t know. Get away from me now. (scared)
Here, take it, take it all. Four hundred coins, it's everything they took from their last victim, that coward Demaentus. (scared)
Midius blood, you're not lying. Please don't hurt me. They made me do it. It was them all along. (scared)
What nonsense. They would have torn you apart. Where is your proof.
Welcome, I have anything you need. Fine Coritanician (Cor itan eesheean) ceramics, the best crafted statues. Look around, please.
You ask too many questions. I think you should leave.
What nonsense (laughs)
If you can lay your hands on leopard pelts I'll pay good money for them.
DIALOGUE ENDS
Thug 1. Ex military, aged about 40-45 years, hard as nails thief and robber.
A wise move. Now be off and tell no-one.
Then I will take everything else.
What you have stinks of the gutter. Get away, go on.
Suits me fine. I'll take everything when you're dead.
Who are you looking at.
Bad thing to ask too many questions. Cant ask questions with a knife in your throat friend. Be off.
This time we take the alleys near the gate, bad idea to go too close to the garrison, even in a fog.
You put a knife in that one pretty quick. The fight went out of him quick as Talos (messenger of the gods)

Any takers? I have tried voice acting my own but the quality of microphone isn't too good. I really need to populate the voices of these characters so I can release the mod at the current stage.

Hello Vespasian,
I have had a read through the thread and am offering to help if you can use my voice but I note that you are asking for "European" accents rather than US or British and this might be why you are struggling to find suitable voices for the parts.
I am what I would call "male, posh, non-regional English" but would not say that I could push my voice into a Euro accent. I might be able to handle a Drunk or a Guard but see what you think. Here is the link to my archive.
I have a good mic, own a licensed copy of Reaper and can commit to a long-term project as I do not have any work-related claims on my time.
I will submit a test reading of one of the parts as a raw, unprocessed recording with no obligation for you to use the reading - it will be a good experience for me. Give me a day to do the work and I will upload it for you.
Daniel.

Vespasian - here is a test reading for you with the lines for Boryan, Maxentius, the Fisherman and the Thug. There is a Silence Sample in the folder too for Noise Reduction as these are raw, unprocessed files.
I appreciate you are looking for European accents, which I don't have, but if you want to use these as placeholder voices feel free. As I said, I don't mind whether you use these or not - the practice for me is the useful thing here. If I have mispronounced place names I apologise, and can re-record as needed.
Mesogea Test Reading : 44100Hz WAV Mono, Raw files, 24.3Mb

I do hope you find some Euro VAs with suitable voices, but if you have to alter parts to adapt to UK voices, just let us know.

Hello, thanks for doing these. Actually some of these are good for two of the characters, Boryan and the Fisherman. I'll use those two if that's ok. If you can sling in a bit of an accent with others then that would be great. I am British and have a fairly strong Yorkshire accent, so we Brits and North Americans can do the voices, but it just needs a bit of accent. I find that if I inject just a bit of a Russian accent, just a slight hint, then mixed with my Yorkshire accent it actually sounds ok (after fifty aborted previous attempts....) Without sounding offensive to anyone, New World accents sound a bit odd in an ancient world setting. They just dont fit. Skyrim introduced accents that work very well for immersion so the idea with Mesogea was to have just that lilt of a European accent, something Nordic, Germanic, Italian, Greek, Spanish (Basically something with just a hint of Germanic, Gallic or Meditteranean)
Viridiane did an entire set for a female character and the result is simply brilliant. I would go so far as to say it's a huge improvement on the generic Oblivion and many of the Skyrim characters. A slight Eastern European accent that.... well it has to be heard in game.
So I certainly encourage and would be overjoyed to have anyone from anywhere do work on this, but with just a nice hint of old world accents (well, we dont really know what old world accents in English sounded like, but as long as it isnt anachronistic.)
Again, thanks for doing these. I'll be coming back to you for more.
Actually I have just listened to your Dremora accent and when I get to the Vandur (an ancient and vile race of immensely powerful humanoids) I'll be begging you to do their voices. I wish I was at the Vanduris stage now (I'm going down that road next!)
The inflection you did would be perfectly fitting for Mesogea. Can you do anything similar for the Thug and Boryan the Taverner? Something a bit gritty and lowlife sounding?
