I would like YOUR Poll/Opinion/Comments/Suggestions/Feedback/Etc. on helping me pick out a Menu Navigation for my website. I need help because I'm brain dead now after 4 hours of searching for these (looking at close to or over 100 different types) on top of 2 or 3 hours personally trying attempt (again) at creating a nice menu (Its been years since dealing with this stuff).

I supply the links so you can test them out and vote in the polls for the one that you like that most.

I'll also state my personal Pros and Cons, based off what I see and what you will also see (But don't take the Pros and Cons serious though, check out the sites I link and test them out!)

Windows 7 Start Menu in CSS3

Pros:

Awesome

Simplistic

Known World Wide

Cons:

Does not work with Internet Explorer

Might not have enough content to use it fully

Flash Light

Pros:

Looks and operates nice(ly)

Cons:

Might not be able to resize smaller for efficient space saving

Might get annoying after awhile

Drop Down Horizontal Menu

Pros:

Easy to see and read

Should be easy to setup

Cons:

Requires a special package to use, but is free and used world wide.

Looks fairly large

Color might not be able to be changed (I have not looked into it yet)

Might not be able to have Sub-Sub Menus

Sweet Menu (yeah that's the actual name :lmao: )

Pros:

Looks nice

moves without lag

Probably easy to customize and add more tabs

Cons:

Have to find better/nice icons for the tabs

Not really sure

Awesome Mosaic Menu

Pros:

Looks "fairly" professional

cool animations/transitions

Cons:

Takes up a lot of space

Might not be able to get it on all pages comfortably

Coding may be difficult

Requires a multitude of images for the backgrounds

Some people may not notice that they are suppose to click on the tiles

Mootools Homepage Inspired Navigation Effect Using jQuery

Pros:

simple

easy to use

all browsers *should* be able to use it (I haven't checked)

simple to code

Vertical menu

fairly compact

Cons:

simple

could be bland, but probably not

Cute Mouse Pointer Eatting Monster

No Poll option for this. I just wanted so show it off cause its so bloody cute!

Pros:

Cute

Possibly resizeable

Can fit into a corner of all/most pages

Funny

Cons:

Not a menu (but who cares it too damn cute)

I'm not going to link anymore after I post this topic, however if you find one not here that you like, please my all means post a link to it :pints:

Thank You in Advanced

What's the purpose of the website? Usability or a display of your artistic ability?

Some of the world's top websites (Amazon, Google) have exceedingly simple links and navigation. They're not as pretty, but they work the best for the masses. The mosaic and flashlight ones above look awesome and would be great for a graphic artist's website for example, but wouldn't work if you were selling products or providing information.

I am not sure if you are going more for aesthetics or navigation menu only. The main flavour of the moment is http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/ . The nice things is, apart from being open source, it that it is very customisable. Its mainly design framework, consisting of css-side components over jscript. There is an install generator that allows you to customise the build to your needs if you find you only want to use a select few components, which is good, not that the package is that large either.

I have used bootstrap to prototype a good few websites, mainly due to its simple usage. The main advantages are clean, minialist design, with great functionality out of the box. A sister website - http://builtwithbootstrap.com/ showcases the variety that can be achieved. You can always theme it later.
