KoTN Disc

Hiya folks...I have OB GOTY edition with the included KoTN content. this does not contain some content that the purchased disc has. I just now purchased the disc version. Since I have the GOTY version installed (with mods dependant on it) , my question is...Will the dics version overwrite my older installed version, or do I need to do a wipe? Thank you.

The disk has separate EXEs for each of the DLCs so you can install the ones you're missing without affecting the others

.. Ok...I got my disc today, opened it and viewed all the info. I`m now wondering if...since I`ve played through the MQ and KoTN-R .. any of these plugins are quest dependant ... and if so...will they read that I`ve completed the requisit questlines..?

Yep if they have quest requirements they'll know if you've met them.

Sooo...how will I know if I have not? I`ve backed up my Save folder and am thinking of just letting the disc install and see what wants to over write.

I wouldn't let it over write your KOTN files since what you have came with the GOTY edition. There may be changes that were made to make it fit in with the GOTY... All the others just click on the install program for the ones you want. Only ones that I think you might have quests completed for would be the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood. All the others are self contained quests if quests are associated with them

I don't believe there have been any changes made to the game files in the GOTY Edition, beyond applying the patch. No DLC was ever patched, and as you shouldn't have edited the DLC's (beyond running a TES4Edit clean) you should be able to copy the KOTN disc esps over without issue.

All DLC's are self contained, and any DLC quest should carry over because the form ID's will be the same. Just make sure you run BOSS, or have load-order locked in BASH to prevent the esp's being re-ordered and make sure they are ENABLED before loading a save.

Should be no problem then.

Thanks Sigurd. I suppose that I should have updated this thread sooner. I took the easy way out and... simply installed it all and let it overwrite (which there were maybe just a few) and it went like a dream, and works perfectly.
