Question regarding Database/ ESP cleanup

Greetings,

I am currently working on a big Mod and I have gotten pretty far thanks to the TES Schools.

Though, over the time I have created and deleted plenty of objects (or duplicates I merely renamed). If they didn't work out the way I had intended I deleted them from the database.

Now, what bugs me as a tidy-freak. I want to totally remove them from my database. Right now, all deleted objects are still visible, even if they cannot be used anymore. And they are marked with a D*.

I want them removed totally, that they also cannot be found anymore. I hate fragements...

Then another question.

When I have created two or three different mods and find that one mod contains something I want to re-use in another mod...

Is there a way that I can transfer only particular objects or cells from one esp to another - without having to take all by merging the esp files?

I tried the SnipIt tool, but that did not really work :-/

Rhi

First question, it's easy enough to clean up.

(Back up your ESP before doing this!)

  • Open up the CK
  • Go to Open Files and select your mod, but instead of 'Okay', select 'Details'
  • That will bring up the list of information stored in your file.
  • Second column is titled 'Deleted' Press this and all your deleted items will be brought to the top of the list.
  • Click on the deleted item  (which will be a STAT item) and press 'Delete' on your keyboard. That will give you a pop up box 'Mark as Ignored?'
  • Select yes and repeat this for each item you deleted.
  • Once you have done that select 'Close'
  • Then load up your mod
  • Save your mod
  • Close the CK
  • Restart the CK and load your mod, check your File Details again and the deleted items should be gone.

Second question, you can esm-ify your main mod using Wrye Bash, then load both mods in the CK. Copy/Paste from one to the other. Don't forget to esp-ify your main mod when you're done before trying to use it.
