Some silent mp3's missing?

I've noticed that most of the dialog is okay but a few are too fast to read.

Is it possible I could use tes4gecko to generate all the silent mp3's, unpack the sounds bsa, add in whatever may be missing, and then repack the bsa?

Or, should I not worry about it and leave well enough alone?

I don't want to use the silent voices mod because I don't really like obse.

It's been one of the better quest mods I've tried so far. I'm at the horse trader bug at the moment.

Thanks

What version are you using? There shouldn't be any missing silent MP3s.

You could unpack the BSA sure, but several of the files are not silent and you can't overwrite them with silent ones or you will be lost at various sections of the quest where you are dependent on those audio clues. I would recommend redownloading the sounds.bsa and overwriting the copy in your install to make sure nothing was corrupted http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/951-reclaiming-sancre-tor/

Thanks for the quick reply. That's amazing to have support like that for a game this old, and from the DarkRider himself.

I have version RC1.0.5 according to the readme.html. I don't remember where I downloaded it but it was the full pack.

I think I've only seen the quick flash-by text 3 or 4 times and it looked like minor rumor stuff by minor characters.

I downloaded the RST_Sounds file from Nexusmods. The extracted file is actually smaller than what I've got. (417,855,895 bytes vs. 417,918,459 bytes)

That was a good idea, a lot easier than my plan. What do you think? Should I use the new smaller file?

There shouldn't be any missing silent MP3s.

Maybe not but I've tried the newly downloaded file and I still get rumor dialog that's on the screen for 2 seconds no matter what the length. I've seen up to 28 words that are on the screen for 2 sec. No big deal. FYI
