How to make clutter static still-life?

I'm learning modding and have been working on a large practice house for about a month.  I found the tutorials on this site invaluable and thank you greatly for providing them.  I know there is a way to make clutter static (not movable) so that dishes, food, items don't bounce all over the place when you bump into them but I can't seem to find a guideline on doing this.  Any advise in this area would be appreciated!   Along that line as well, how do you make items, such as a basket or a bowl solid---meaning that if you place apples or flowers in a basket, then they don't just fall through them.

Thanks!

The way to do that is with Nifskope. You basically have to change the property of the item you want to static, instead of a clutter item.

This is a very helpful picture that was sent to me by Tamira. It shows you where to find the right area to change, and it compares a static and a clutter item so you can see what you have to change.

Btw, you don't need to edit the .nif file to create a new static item. Let's say you want want to make a static apple...

- make a duplicate of any static object by giving it a new ID, e.g. AppleSTATIC.

- extract the .nif file for the apple from the Skyrim - Meshes.bsa to your data folder. In this case it should be under meshes\clutter\food\apple01.nif.

- for your new static, assign the model you just extracted from the .bsa.

- now you have a static apple and the loose mesh can be deleted again.
