It's been more than a few attempts at re-downloading the program, searching the host-site's troubleshooting forums (and even google) but, I'm without a single .exe or application file in any of the unzipped folders.  Has anyone else had this issue?  If so, can you please save my (about to be sold for an answer) soul by sharing your fix-it wisdom?

@HeyYou you are brilliant (truly) and...although my hiccup wasn't that I had to look for specific file types, it sparked something so obvious that I would've never imagined it happening all on my own.

What-had-happened-waaasss....

I unzipped the main file, as well as the added content file, but for whatever (on-bleepin-earth) reason, the Downloads folder with the unzipped files was hiding things from poor Punk'n.  It was my (if I do say so myself) giggle inducing attempt to find a box/option to search for applications that I came across a little box way up in the nose bleed region of the folder... unchecked... that [read] next to said unchecked box "show hidden items".....

:wallbash: --- go ahead and [X] a box --- --- Holy Hop'n Hoarkers, Batman!  Thank you again.  It's the simple things...eh? lol

You aren't kid'n!  I had to've gone thru the whole horrid "download/unpack/stare at folders for a total of 16 hours/give up-pull a tuff of hair/delete those files/redownload/unpack again/pull another tuff of hair --Rinse & Repeat" process 4 or 5 times before stumbling upon this glorious unintentional headgame.

Scratch that... 7 times.  Forgot that I logged every time when I was hoping for an answer from the content sites "help-me-not team"

  • 4 weeks later...

Reminds me of Linux! You don't just download a file and run it, oh no; there are (as of last count) twelve different ways to install something: package managers; building from source (there are several methods); AppImages (which are very nice) and so forth... Nothing is straightforward or obvious. No wonder the majority of the world runs Windows.

@Tigersong It's funny that you say that.... because while I was on my 4 day hunt for a rogue folder, I said that EXACT same thing as I was noticing all the files/folders that came post Windows 8.1 update!  It SERIOUSLY looks like I'm running Linux to someone who could only see these titles and names
