These are a couple of posts from some issues that another user and I encountered when trying to download some files from TESA.
my problem:
I seem to be having some difficulty getting the AmoIX files downloaded. I gott the two smaller ones downloaded, but the largest one always gives me trouble. It lists being at 334MB in size. (or around there) but always stops at like, 257, and then is completely unopenable and unextractable. I the other two worked fine, and I download much larger files elsewhere all the time, so I am a bit stumped as to the problem.
and his problem:
I am experiencing the same issue when downloading Insanity's armour compilation 1.21 from there. The .7z, which is at more or less 900 MB in size is never completely downloaded. Sometimes the download stops at roughly 700 MB, sometimes at 800 MB, but never ever is completely downloaded. Therefore when I try to unpack the file, 7-zip says it can't read the file.
So in summary, we have large files that stop downloading randomly, for no reason, and then are corrupt. I have tried 3 different web browsers, the other person has tried multiple ones as well as download managers all to no success. Also, the files list as being certain sizes (40MB) and sometimes are larger (92 MB)
It isn't just me, as another couple of users also discussed having similar problems, which prompted this post.

We've had the occasional report on this timeout issue before. Basically it's related to the user's download speeds butting heads with the server timeout limits. If your download speeds are throttled by say your web provider, or you have a slower download package from your provider, or even if you're running multiple programs and your resources are limited, the file may time out before you get the whole thing.
At this time, it's not something we can improve on our end as our current server packages don't allow us to raise that timeout limit to give slower large downloads a chance to get the whole file before timing out. We won't be able to fix the issue on our end until we can afford to switch to a dedicated server unfortunately.
That said, some folks have reported having better success by pausing the download and resuming it a few second later which should restart the time out count long enough for you to grab the entire file. You might give that a go to see if it helps as a workaround.
As for the file size oddity, that was caused by the old ftp uploads. We've corrected that moving forward since our upgrade but ask users to report any older files they come across that list one size and are actually larger so we can correct that.
We will continue to search for a solution to the downloads timeout issue.

Alright then! thanks for the response/advice on getting around this. I'll give it a shot!
Let us know how you make out, and don't worry, we'll find a solution for this. Thanks for posting it on our tracker.
If people are still having this problem, I got round it using Opera.
After the download failed repeatedly, using IE and Firefox, I tried Opera, and its built-in download manager successfully resumed the download after the timeout.
Hope this helps.

I have same problem to download of the MMM385BSA.7z.
Although I tried pausing and resuming of the download, I failed.
Opera was not downloadable, either. Isn't there any other solution?

I'm having trouble with download speeds from TESA. It is taking up to 30 seconds for the download to start and then the speed never goes over 5Kbs/sec and is frequently under 900bytes per second.
I am not experiencing this issue on any other site that I download from.

Opera saved the day!!!
I was having the download problem too, and switched to Opera, and it worked good as gold!
The download will timeout as with other browsers, but hit the resume button in the top left and she starts up again.
Nice one Dogwaffle for the solution!
Might I suggest mentioning Opera as the recommended browser for this site for people having trouble downloading, or allow the hosting of files on other sites too, on ones that work properly

TESA works better than most actually, just the odd problem here and there
I'll add Opera to my list of recommendations for when this problems pops up

We have increased the timeout limit on our server to give slower downloads a chance to grab the whole file before timing out. However, this issue may persist for some users on large files because the issue is ultimately on the user end. Creative download management using faster, less resource intensive browsers like Chrome or Opera may help, download managers and download browser add ons can also help.
