I'm not sure what you're futzing with either, looks great to me.

Other than the normal map giving it too much height-map (being a flat table cloth) it looks fine to me.

This is beautiful. My grandmother left me a few beautiful embroidered linen runners like this- over time, with washing, the threads where the decorative stitching is pucker and raise, so the slightly raised parts actually make it look authentic. I especially love the warm ivory of the tassels.
