  1. Hey, if you want to make something cool, I'll happily model it for you. Especially for Skyrim. Just draw up some orthographic concept sketches, and send them my way.
  2. Sure, and thanks. ...how do you send files?
  3. Hey. I'm starting out with a simple enough mod; it adds several new throwing knives that can be crafted from junk as your repair skill increases. I think throwing knives are cool but a little too hard to come by, and not really viable as weapons at higher levels. All the geck stuff was simple enough, and I've completed all the models and textures. The final thing holding this mod back from release is two wierd nifskope problems I was hoping you guys may have a solution to. The first problem is that the orientation of the knife in-game is orthogonal to its orientation in nifskope. Not a major issue since I can just reposition it in nifskope to compensate, but I can't seem to move the collision box. The nifs were made by simply exporting a .nif from blender, then pasting over the vanilla throwing knife's nitristrips data, so I assume the solution lies in the nitristrips data somewhere since everything else is unchanged. I get the feeling that this is something stupid and obvious that I've overlooked. The second problem is that when the characters ready the knife, the animation appears identical to the default one hand melee animation except that the knife jumps from their palm to between their thumb and forefinger. For some reason my knives do not. All the animations for equiping and reloading and throwing are identical to the vanilla throwing knife, so I'm unsure how to solve this problem. Perhaps there's an object animation in the .nif? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
  4. Well thank you all very much! I didn't expect such a warm welcome. I've got a good feeling about this community.
  5. Hey. This is ResolveThatChord. Hobbyist blenderhead, gamer and jeweler. I'm really keen to get into modding, and after a rocky start I decided to find a good community. I'm a pretty rubbish texturer but a pretty good modeller. So to any texturers out there: if you have an idea but don't want to have to tangle with blender, I'd love to make meshes for you! I like the idea of collaborating on a mod, and I love reading cool ideas, so don't hesitate to let me know. And if you know someone in need of a modeller, point me to them! I'm inspired by what the modding community has produced for Oblivion and Morrowind, and I want to contribute. Above all I love seeing ideas becoming real. It's always harder than expected, but when you fail, you learn a lot. And when you succeed, the accomplishment is priceless. I'd like to see your ideas succeed. Here's an example of my work. This is a character design of mine that I rendered so I could trace it and impress my cool drawing tutor:
