  1. Yup, got the same e-mail. Also, the e-mail I used for the account was locked due to too many incorrect password login attempts, so someone really wanted in. I've since cut all ties to that account other than some forum stuff and EA.

  2. Just out of curiousity, has anyone besides me pre-ordered the CE's for Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, and Assassins Creed Rev?

All 3 sets seem really interesting, now its only to wait and see what Beth does for the Skyrim CE :D Still hoping for a sword! LOL

I, too, have the CEs for Uncharted 3 and Mass Effect 3 ordered. Stupid Skyrim CE, be announced already!

  3. 6.Ram...Kingston HyperXBlu 4GB(2x2GB) SDRAM DDR3 1600#N82E16820104203$55.00

    .

I would splurge a bit and get more RAM. 4GB is usually the bare minimum nowadays. I know you can get some "value" RAM (GSkill and some Kingston come to mind) at 2x4GB for a little more in cost.

EDIT: I see that MoBo has 4 memory slots, so you might be able to find some 4x2GBs for cheaper than 2x4GBs.

  4. I almost did but their international shipping rates were prohibitive. I do have a couple of their creations in the form of letter openers which are quite nice, although their full-size swords are overpriced for what are stainless steel castings (stainless steel is a good choice for small knives and replicas but extremely bad for full-size versions).

I did have some qualms with them being made out of stainless steel as I have a few cheap movie replica swords that are dismal to say the least.

I have the full-sized Warden Sword, once it shipped it was quick but it took a while to ship. The quality is ok, but I know the work on the blade is lacking, I can also tell you that the tip was rounded (way to much IMHO). I am not sure how the staffsword would come out, if they rounded the tip too much it would definatly ruin it.Edit: Its worth noting I have the letter opener as well and its quality is rather nice however it did not carry over as well to the full-sized. I was somewhat tempted to pick up the staffsword myself but decided against it.

Maybe I'll pass on it and stick with the inflatable one a friend got me from PAX.

  5. Hand downs - build. I've been building my system since I was in high school (and that was nearly a decade ago). You can usually find any issues you're having online. It's nice if you just want to upgrade pieces of the rig at a time which is what I usually do.

I'm a fan of cheaper prices, so I would say go with an AMD processor and MoBo. I think they may be unveiling their newest chipset soon, so it might be worth it to wait till that comes out to find deals on "this gen" hardware.

That being said, I'm sure there are reasonable ready-built PCs out there if you absolutely need to have tech support.

  6. Don't run Antialiasing from the game.

If you really want it, just set your video card to do it automatically for you.

Ah yes, I learned to do this an hour after posting. I don't really notice a difference between in-game AA and forced card AA so it works out in the end!

Also, to get OBSE to load with the Steam version of Oblivion, you need to enable the in-game community setting.

Are you sure about that? I've noticed that, if disabled, the menu shows up. If I enable in-game, the menus does not show up. I haven't noticed any issues thus far with any mods requiring OBSE having issues with the in-game community disabled.

  7. Indeed, I also have my eye on Deus Ex Revolution which comes out the same day IIRC.

EDIT: Just got my hands on this month's GameInformer. Anders (from Dragon Age Awakening) is a playable character in DA2. :jellytime:

  8. All righty, it seems running BOSS and letting Steam validate the files one more time has done the trick. At least for now.

I still have the issue with running any AA not loading the main menu at the title, but I assume that's because of the brand new hardware and lack of patches for it.
