  1. You're system Drive D: is a small partition that Windows 7 (I assume that's what you are using since I am unfamiliar with Win 8) adds to put its system file on. Its for protecting the critical system files in windows and usually also stores a limited number of system restore files. I don't know if you did an upgrade install or not, but with a clean install here that partition is hidden and is the first partition on the drive. (unless my system partition has some drive label outside the ones I currently show)

  2. Yesterday I got 2 new updates (re-releases).... KB3024777 - Update for Windows 7 for x64 based systems and a re-release of the Microsoft Silverlight  update KB3011970.

I didn't have any issues with any of the 16+ I got on Tuesday but getting anything out of the planned sequence for updates means there is a serious patch needed or they mucked one up.

  3. I don't know what browser you are using but I was having this problem with IE 11, except the links didn't show up when I was creating the message but would show up after I posted it. Also, when reverting back to a previous page likelooking at What's now, after looking at a topic the one I just read wouldn't show up as read. I went back to IE9 and everything works like its supposed to...

  4. Yes the class is still running.. Glance through the Introduction topic and then either submit lesson one under the Lesson 1 thread or send Darkrider a PM letting him know you want to begin the classes  and Darkrider will add you to the class.

Welcome to the CK Basics class :pints:

  5. Hi I am fairly new to trying to edit a mesh or texture with nifscope or other tools.  I have a few things I have managed to accomplish but need help with this one

I have a picture located here  that I would like to have on a portal screen which I can place in front of a door.   If anyone knows how to do this I would be extremely grateful.

What is it that you are trying to do? It looks like a screenshot with the cursor ( 4 pointers) in the middle and has been saved in dds format.

  6. I did lesson 1 of the basic course, (I had trouble with the lighting) but ignoring that for now, the link to lesson 2 is also broken. ie "you don't have permission"

Use this link to get to the lesson. Send Darkrider a Pm letting him know the link in  the lesson is broken.

You should always be able to access the lessons from the main CK Basics Page that lists all the classes and progress reports.

  7. It should.. they are probably heading inside because its considered home or you have references or ownership established there and its the nearest place. Put chairs and stuff around outside and they'll go to them

  8. Well if your C: drive contains about 100 gigs now I'd say that 120 SSD is way too small. I looked at your backup software and it sees the hidden partitions that Windows 7 creates for its system files. I'm not sure how it handles restoring or cloning and I didnt' understand its use of virtual backup partitions or whatever. My software actally clones the drive if I'm installing a new drive so that it is and exact duplicate. When I restore partitions it restores the entire partition. I didnt' want to pay extra to extract files.

Oh and PS.. Your software does do compression so your backups are the smaller in  size than the data you are backing up. You need to go in and configure that. And I'm not sure what the Locked features are...

  9. Well first off a 120 gig drive is pretty small unless you are only planning on installing windows and any necessary drivers, etc that it needs. You'd be better off getting a larger drive. BUT, to answer your question any decent backup software should have an option to either clone a new drive or copy a backup copy to the new drive. Make sure it its copying partitions it copies the hidden Windows 7 system partition or it won't work.
