Try using these. I think this is an updated link ... Patterns: http://www.obsidiandawn.com/grungy-dirty-photoshop-patterns Brushes: http://www.photoshopwebsite.com/photoshop-brushes/600-photoshop-textures-making-brushes/
  2. I think when it gets to the point that you have to consider water cooling for your CPU and your GFX card because the temps in your house are 90+ degrees or worse then you need to get one of these. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6281404&csid=_61&rrpl=search_page.content1&rrstr=SolrSearchToView&rrindex=2

  4. Lanfear, always nice to have others with the desire to help where they can. I guess if I was an expert at TES or FO3 I'd be working for Bethseda I had a lot of trouble getting my FO games stable and spent a lot of time on the forums and I found a thread tht Gopher had to video tutorials for installing the games from scratch. It was nice to see how to apply the ini fixes and some of the utilities that fixed and enhanced the game. Granted some were his mods, but he also picked out a few really good ones that he thought people would enjoy. And it appeared to me that they were complicated enough that the step by step installation instructions made sure that everythign was compatible. We're are truely thankful for all the people that take the time to put these tutorials together and are willing to share with the community. Next time I meet you in the bar in GoodSprings I'll buy the first round
  5. Your bottom paragraph about going to a safe cell is the procedure for making a clean save....... I'm not sure what the issue is if you can go back to saves before RST was installed and be okay. Apparently something is being left behind in your saves. Only other suggestion I have at this point is if you are using Wyre Bash you can look at your saved games and see if there are any missing masters . Otherwise some one with more knowledge of RST's files would probably be a better resource.
  6. You can get the latest version of BOSS at http://boss-developers.github.io/ and it will update the masterlist. There is a new version called LOOT that is in beta that will be BOSS' version 3.0 when it comes out of beta.

The reason for extracting the file from the bsa before modifying it, is because if you change the original file in the game and don't rename it to something different is because while you are seeing the changes you made to it in your mod, everywhere else in the game that uses that item will also show your changes. In the case of your armor if you are trying to make it a unique piece of armor for your mod, every NPC that uses that item will also be wearing it. And don't forget that not everyone who uses your mod would want every instance of that armor piece changed in the game including when they are wearing it in a new game. Best practice is to create new folders under \data\meshes and \data\textures with your name (that you use when modding ) the name of your specific mod and then any folders that are associated with your mod. Organizing the folders there can sometimes be done when there are a lot of different areas to match the original folders. This way when you extract them you can follow the general path from where they came from when adding them back after they have been renamed. Example : E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Meshes\Arion\Arie Farm\Farmhouse Hope this helps
  8. Lanfear, thanks for providing the link to where I got the information regarding the multicore ini fixes.... That's where I got the information from originally, but couldn't remember the original message on the forums..... While the advice on going to the forums is a great resource, there are quite a large number of us here that participate on the forums. Sometimes its easier to answer a question than tell someone to go elsewhere and look through a ton of threads for an answer or ask a question that has been answered a 100 times. Another good resource for the game(s) is Gopher's Youtube channel where he goes through all the installation steps for the games and the most popular mods so that everything runs smoothly.
  9. Did you do the clean save? If not, reinstall RST, make sure that it is running from your last saved game that you played RST on. Then uninstall it, start the game and save your game. You will have to play from that saved game on and it should be alright. All your previous saved games that has RST installed are crashing because you are missing a master file from RST. If you've gone back to saves prior to RST and it is still crashing then there is another mod that is causing the corrupt save.
  10. I'm not sure it makes any difference since its been a while since I modified my game, but the Unoffical Fallout Patch that I use includes all of the DLC. You might want to check your version to be sure.. Active Mod Files: I'm also using a 4GB patch for the exe and my ini file has 2 lines that deal with multi-core processors.... [General] bUseThreadedAI=1 iNumHWThreads=2 You might also want to set your system back to stock settings instead of overclocking and use all your cores..... Until its running stable at stock you are shooting blanks trying to figure out what the overclocking is affecting. The game is pretty sensitive as it is and overclocking probably has a major affect.

Best practice is to unpack the bsa file with FO3 Archive and make a copy of the file like you said. Rename the file that you copied when you go to add it back in the CK so there are no conflicts.

  22. If you have the Win 7 disks and you no longer want to use the computer or you are selling it / throwing it away etc. Its pretty simple to reinstall and for activation you can try to do it automatically or if you have to call it asks you how many computers you have it installed on. When I'm trashing a computer, giving it away or selling it I keep my Windows Disk and tell the new owner they have to get their own. (I format all my drives to erase my personal information anyway - that effectively gives you back one of you lic) I'm not paying for the same thing over again. If it came installed on your computer (which I doubt because it's a home lic. for 3 computers) you should be able to use it on a new computer if you didn't give away a computer with one of your lic. If your Win7 disks came from Dell or some other OEM, then the above scenario may change and be as you stated about not being able to use your disks.
  23. Sorry, but I assummed you liked Win8 because you listed all these things that you consider positives. And as HeyYou said; why are you forced to use Win8 on your computer? Only computers I know that have Win8 are tables and ones the prefabs stuck it on. And they can be easily resolved with a format and installation of Win 7... And if warranty is a problem you have your original backup OS disks that came with your system. And as for presumming, your presumming that everyone will eventually have to use it was pointed out as inaccurate. The way they are turning their OS over every couple of years it'll easily be obsolete within a couple of cycles. Hopefully it goes the same way as Vista did. Just my $.02 worth.
