  1. Just make sure your rabies vaccination is up to date, and you can join us. Although the 'modding classes' are still several steps away from being completed, none of them are barren wastelands; there's something to learn from all of them.
  2. Yeah! Suggestion; Perhaps we could keep the 'Tavern Tales' roleplay storyline as a sticky in the Tavern forum, and have the most popular extended roleplay storylines as the stickies of the Roleplay forums.
  3. Vnuku surveyed the plains where he last pursued Rebecca, and lost to her in combat when she came close to cleaving his arm off. Although his memory of individual folk and beasts was blessed, his memory of landmarks was depressing in comparison; he had almost forgotten where the last chase happened. He quietly crept through the dried grass which led into the forest which surrounded what he deemed the mystery inn; Vnuku had never heard of this inn before. Surely there must be at least a circle of friends who have informed the outside world of this place, or perhaps a party which resides there? He pushed the minor questions aside, however, and returned to the question he previously had; where is Rebecca, and who will be the victor of this private war? While Vnuku mindlessly repeated the above question to himself, his mind slowly drifted to a faded memory of his now deceased friend; Eijhmand. While Vnuku crept through the grass towards the Tavern, he eventually began to wonder of where his old friend had 'gone to' in the afterlife. Could Eijhmand be 'watching over' Rebecca and himself as he became sidetracked by his drifting into the past?
  4. I don't touch the vile place. I don't intend to advertise my mods, I'm not hunting for fame.

    Hello!

    Wicket! Hello.
  6. Quote The "God of War" PWNz the Media. Often I find the commentors more amusing than the article itself. In the case of this swine flu article, I would say what is currently the very last comment is most entertaining.
  7. I would guess that they were expecting the KT event rather than piggy flu.
  8. Never go to California - especially Sacramento. People with a chronic allergic reaction to pollen and smog and so on would be doomed! The place makes your eyes look like this smiley.
  9. Introduced boars and feral pigs certainly are more serious a problem than garden tramplers now. Quite scary, considering that any pig could be carrying this, even the pampered pets (quite unlikely, but certainly not out of the question.) Edit: *WEEEE!* *SQUEAL!*
  10. I voted yes. For the Computer? Oblivion wouldn't have sold so well without its mods, there are many games older than Oblivion that are equally developed and inclusive of 'roleplaying'. For the Consoles? Oblivion is so distinct compared to the Grand Theft Auto and Tekken clones that mods would just be icing on the cake. Had I not used any mods, Oblivion would have died even more quickly than it already has for me. (Although a good dungeon run with my home-made pets is still fun for me, the game as a whole doesn't have many interesting qualities that can keep me returning even after I've played it 20 times.) I must agree with WT to some extent, though I would say many of the games who sell so well only because of mods are devoid of any genuinely interesting or original gameplay, story, or other related details. Oblivion and similar games definitely sold for reasons outside of mods though, simply by offering a relatively three-dimensional game, unlike the all too common linear RPGs or MMORPGs which can easily be interpreted as Final Fantasy clones, WoW clones, Diablo clones, etc. Edit: My favorite RPG would be the 10th Final Fantasy, even if the roleplaying is relatively limited. A game can find its way to my gamer heart with a solid storyline and distinct game-world alone - the gameplay is solid and interesting enough to keep me content. I'm also a sucker for tragedy stories.
  11. Rebbecca had fallen asleep while watching the horse – in the morning, the mare woke Rebbecca when it licked up whatever was in her hair. She brushed her hair back and got as much , then looked at the obviously tame, curious horse, and said “Hmm... maybe I could bring you along with me when my visit here ends.” Before anything more could be said, Rebbecca heard footsteps from several meters away, and saw a long eared dark elf girl packing a simple sack, with a brown dappled horse and red clannfear by her side. Rebbecca observed the clannfear with interest, wondering how it arrived here, where its distinct coloration came from, and what it intended to do on Nirn. She approached the light framed dunmer, and asked her “Pardon my pestering if you would, but how exactly did your big red friend arrive here?” The dunmer promptly looked up, throwing her ragged black hair out of her face, and asked in return “Wilson is its name, and I'm Tajomaki, but more importantly – who are you?” Rebbecca had realized she had forgotten her manners, and took a step back before revealing her name “I'm Rebbecca – excuse my rude entry, Tajomaki, though I'd like to ask you how your friend Wilson managed to come here.” Tajomaki hesitated for a moment, before telling Rebbecca “He's been with me for as long as I've been here, and that's all I know – now, I need to pack my bags and leave as soon as I can, Rebbecca.” Rebbecca could see that Tajomaki was wary of her, as she had feebly said farewell to Rebbecca when Tajomaki mounted her horse and rode off towards the woods. Rebbecca turned her attention back to the curious horse patiently waiting behind her, and noted to herself to ask about Tajomaki back at the inn. “Let's bring you to where the rest of the horses are, maybe I'll be able to learn something from the folks who are more experienced with horses.” Rebbecca called the horse, seeing if it was trained to the extent of understanding voice commands – the horse never came, however. The horse continued to examine Rebbecca, following her where she walked – Rebbecca decided to simply walk towards the stables, hoping that the horse's curiousity would get the better of it. She approached the area where she had earlier seen horses roaming in, and when Rebbecca opened the gate, the horse went into the pen with no prompting from Rebbecca. When she closed the gate, the amazed Rebbecca wondered if a human was missing its horse, or if a horse was missing its human. Rebbecca walked away, checking to see if this apparently trained horse would try to follow her or escape, though it never did, and she went back into the Tavern.
  12. Best not let the wild fire grow wilder. A rest in peace is indeed in order.
  13. I failed to heed to the lesson of 'look before you leap' - I had assumed these mods were pulled a few days ago, but apparently they've been pulled for almost a month now - I've merely committed Ad infinitum.
  14. Edit: I have committed in Ad Infinitum at a very inappropriate time, and managed to nurse what was an otherwise laid to rest matter, so I've culled the fluffy details that most of us have probably seen before.
  15. Moya had kittens! Congratulations for the successful mother.
  16. Quote i read texturing 101 an dim like frazzledcan anyone give me th ebasic editing of textures for dummies or something?ive never modded before in ymlife an dim just like a littl ekid whos walked intot he wrong theatre Gimp and Blender both have disgusting interfaces, even if they are the most developed free modeling and texturing software currently known. Paint.net is perhaps the better program to begin with when doing simple texture related work, such as a re-colour. It also has native support for the .DDS file, which is the file type all the textures of Oblivion are. http://www.paint.net/ Modeling is an intensely complicated process - if you wish to create characters, you must also learn to texture, regardless of what you plan to model, and if you are to create characters, sound creation and/or voice-acting is a must. It would perhaps be best to wait until you can provide a texture for the model. I can't hand out any tutorials, but I can give advice. Edit: To apply a texture to a model with NifSkope - search for a flower in the panel to your left. There should be text next to it, which says something similar to "Textures/(Folder)/(Texture)." Press the flower, and you will be brought up with a search menu. Find the texture you wish to apply to the model, and press it. Once that has been done, you can crop out any text behind 'Textures.'
  17. British-German mongrel here, with a small amount of Apache.
  18. While I don't know if I have any Irish in me, I can say Happy Saint Patrick's day.
  19. Quote That's my idea of a birthday cake! Guiness with candles! [EDIT] Hey Colin...guess what I'd like for my birthday? A great big beer?
  20. Rebbecca hid behind a wall of of the Tavern, just before dawn – she was closely observing a feral horse who had found the Taern. It wandered around the ivy growing near the Tavern with curiousity, inspecting the new building found with interest. The horse seemed to be completely amazed by the sight of the Tavern, and frequented the ivy growing on it, sampling some of the leaves carefully, then continuing to investigate the Tavern's exterior. Rebbecca wandered if this horse was merely a lost riding animal, but stayed low, wanting to wait until the sun rose in the morning before seeing if this horse was tame.

    Modeling

That doesn't look too terribly complex, just HUGE!
  22. Welcome to the party. Some risks really are worth taking! (Like an all-nighter.)
  23. Agreed. I've made movies of similar length that only added up to 15 MB on average.
