  1. Something sorta-like these? Tell me what to change :-D
  2. I have absolutely no experience with modeling whatsoever. My software is Blender 2.46. I'm interested in learning some basic modeling and more about UV mapping to make my texturing better :-D Thanks for doin this ;-) CC
  3. @Happy-I-Am Okay, I've barely had time to mess with concept, but I've worked with the mesh and textures some, and found them extremely simple and easy to use. I can pretty much make any pattern in any colors with symbol, and I can probably do it really quickly. Anyway, not knowing what you want, I thought I'd let you express your opinion. Essentially what I've been doing is creating a pattern in the background (in these pics the "x" inside the borders), then recoloring the whole thing, then superimposing an image over that (in these pictures a skull), and sometimes recoloring that. Please note that the mesh looks lumpy on this, because these are still shots, and obviously it's supposed to be moving (this is why the skull looks twisted). Anyway, I'll stop talking now, and show you the extremely rough textures I made in the last, like, 10 minutes :-P Obviously these look overly-piratical, but I'm blaming the skull :-P Anyway, I need input/guidance, because you should never let me go free reign (last time I started texturing without a goal I made THIS, and I'm quite certain you don't want that (luckily I eventually made a toned-down version of the club that did in fact look cool-ish, but you get the idea). So, yeah, let me know how you want it ;-) CC
  4. Quote Quote hmmm no i havent seen any, but i guess that would dom i could put it up to a wall and imarge would be fine as long as its bandit like lolThere is a regular flag type object for Oblivion. It's used on the ships and even waves as if blown by the wind. Object is under architectureshipsshipflag01 Thank you ;-) I'll jump on that in the morning, 'night all :-P
  5. Quote Yeah pretty much and yes i was givinhg you a creative license as long as its bandit like it would be fine!Just need the flag for my dark stone tavern mod, as its really a bandit town =/ and the model im after is more like one that can go on a pole so this one would work, i would just have to stick it to a pole =D hmm... actually this one wouldn't work on a flagpole, as it is shaped so as to look like there is a mount behind it... I can't recall ever seeing a flag on a pole in Oblivion, but I'd believe that I'm jusy inattentive. Where did you see one? I just need to know what model to retex, sorry for the holdup :-) btw, any particular icon/symbol sound good to you? Quote I'll give a shot at it too, even though I'm a ghost here now? :pI'll throw some gnarly custom icons on them Aww... you're not a ghost... more like a Shadow... or maybe a "hider"... Ooh, I know, you're a Shadowhider!!! Imagine that... ;-)
  6. Enjoy your stay here (at the Hotel California ???), we're all friends (except that guy in the back, we all hate him, but otherwise we're all friends), so I hope you like the site (and my brilliant, witty, commentaries... heh-heh-heh... [okay, I should probably shutup now]). Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you can do. Have fun (livin' it up, in the Hotel California ???? [ah, that'll be stuck in my head all day now]) CC
  7. Quote Hey, im looking for a retexture of a town flag, i was wondering if you could do this for me please? What i need.I need a retextured town flag, it needs to look like an bandit flag of some sort. I dont realy care which town flag you retexture.Cheers What town flags are you referring to? It shouldn;t be hard to retexture a banner or something, I just want to make sure I do the right piece :-D Also, when you say a "bandit flag of some sort", are you giving me creative license of some sort, or do you have something specific in mind? (i.e. symbol / color scheme ?) Anyways, yeah, it shouldn;t be too difficult to do a flag/banner thing, I just want to make sure that you get what you want :-D CC EDIT: If I make this model into a bandit design, is this what you meant? (I feel it is worth noting that this banner model is meant to be placed with its back against a wall, not sure if this is the model you want, or not :-D)
  8. Glad you guys like my stuff, and as I just made my first mod for Oblivion in July, and that was well before I started learning texturing, I can't imagine you're that far "behind" me, Verita ;-)
  9. Hmmm... okay, I just added some new pics (a club, celtic blade, sapphire cuirass, etc), and I need something else to do. I've been using THIS thread on BGS forums recently (very little interest), and posting my stuff HERE on TESNexus, but I need something to do other than just make stuff off the top of my head, because I have created some pretty horrific-looking stuff (as far as retina-searing and gag-inducing go :-D). Anyway, yeah, thats the update of my life (whoo-hoo!)...now somebody do something. because I'm bored :-P CC
  10. holy crizzap, I am thoroughly impressed with the axes (especially as mine turned out so poorly :-P). The colors (especially the red) are beautiful, and you did an amazing job with the detailing! Can't wait to see the bow!
  11. Dang, I'm impressed! I don't generally have the patience to do anything nearly so intricate. They are beautiful, keep it up, Shadow ;-) CC
  12. Quote For the record, its best if you can have a beta test first to find issues like this.I can usually be persuaded to do this for people. That way you release a better quality product. (hopefully)Thats my I know, but I'm an impatient person(!!!). S impatient, in fact, that I won't even finish this sen-... You are right, though, and I will attempt to do tests in the future :-D CC P.S. Did you try/test it, and, if so, were there any issues? Thanks ;-)
  13. Very good, thank you for the help. I just did as instructed, and released a Version 1.1. Chances are a screwed something else up horribly, but I'll wait for bug reports first :-P I will work on fixing my Welkynd Armors mod later on, then. If someone would be able to test this for me and make sure it works, that's be awesome ;-) Thanks for the help, guys CC

    Hi.

Quote Well, I've just signed up here, and already notice many of you from BGSF.I'm here to join up with whoguru and all them, so... yeah... You can consider this your first official welcome (do you recognise me? huh? do yah? do yah? DO YAH?!?!?!... just kidding :-P). I'm new too, se sweet, hope you like it (I do!!!) EDIT: Aww... Heyyou, you stole my "first welcome"... life sux (kidding again!)
  15. Quote to fix it is quite easy. but it ight invole you havin to redirect all your textures again.open nifsope, go to 'Render > Setting' then click the 'Auto Detect Game Paths' . if your textures now start with textures.... then your all good, if there not, you have to show it where the texture is again. Wow, that was fast ("Staples... That was Easy!"). Okay, I made the change, I DO have to redirect all of them (gaah), but it's easy enough. More annoyingly I'm going to have to re-post :-P Ah well, I'll get on that... crap... Thanks for the help, though :-D CC
  16. Quote A problem was noted on the bethsoft forum. I downloaded your mod to check it out, and it appears there is a problem. The texture paths inside the meshes are not set up correctly. For example the battle axe points here:c:program filesbethesda softworksobliviondatatexturesccmccm welkynd retextureselven battleaxeccmwelkyndbattleaxeblue.ddsIt SHOULD point here instead:texturesccmccm welkynd retextureselven battleaxeccmwelkyndbattleaxeblue.ddsI try to keep spaces out of my filenames as well, but that is my personal choice! LOLBut, the mod will work fine if the game is installed here:c:program filesbethesda softworksoblivionOtherwise, the textures will not be found. You might want to get this fixed on the meshes, as many people, including myself, do not install the game to the default directory...If you need some instruction on setting up NIfskope so it will automatically set the path correct for Oblivion, let me know.It was also reported that your armor suffered the same problem. Ah, that makes sense, because the person with the problems was using a removable drive! If you would be so kind as to explain how to fix this in NifSkope, I would be most grateful, and thank you for finding the solution ;-) Also, thank you Echonite, StryderofOblivion, and WhoGuru for the kind words (I'm lovin it :-D)
  17. Quote Sorry I get excited when I have an idea. I have an idea for a unique twist. A different gem effect, not welkynd stone. Ah, that could be really interesting! I remember thinking awhile ago (before I started modding) that ruby/sapphire/emerald blades should be made, but I never game it more thought. I'm not sure what the question is, but I like the idea :-D (btw, Shorthand-ers Anonymous, or SA, did wonders for me [just kidding!!!]) Side note, Ayleid Blades and Blunts has just been released on TESNexus. The release thread on TESA and the BGS Thread have been posted. Let me know what you think ;-) CC
  18. Just uploaded! TESNexus This is the readme/description. I would love to hear your input!: Ayleid Blades and Blunts v1.1 -Created by Running4Cover -Many Meshes by Trollf -Oblivion by Bethesda Softworks Description: Explorations of Ayleid ruins often turn up unexpected and even unheard of treasures; such is the case of the Welkynd Weapons discovered by the fighters guild on a contract to exterminate a group of imps. 48 new weapons were found, all of them bearing similar craftsmanship to Elven weapons. The 48 weapons consisted of 16 different weapons in three different color varieties each (red, blue, and green Welkynd). These are the weapons discovered: Welkynd Battleaxe -Same stats as an Elven Battleaxe Welkynd Ono -Same stats as an Elven War Axe -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Tabar -Same stats as an Elven Battleaxe -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Claymore -Same stats as an Elven Claymore Welkynd Zhanmadao -Same stats as an Elven Claymore -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Dagger -Same stats as an Elven Dagger Welkynd Dual Dagger -Same stats as an Elven Dagger -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Glaive -Same stats as an Elven Shortsword, but is two-handed -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Glaive with Sheath -Same stats as an Elven Shortsword, but is two-handed -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Glaive with Two Sheaths -Same stats as an Elven Shortsword, but is two-handed -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Longsword -Same stats as an Elven Longsword Welkynd Shortsword -Same stats as an Elven Shortsword Welkynd Kodachi -Same stats as an Elven Shortsword, but is two-handed -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Kodachi with Sheath -Same stats as an Elven Shortsword, but is two-handed -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Kodachi with two Sheaths -Same stats as an Elven Shortsword, but is two-handed -Mesh by Trollf Welkynd Warhammer -Same stats as an Elven Warhammer Installation: Add the Meshes folder, the textures folder, and .esp's to your Oblivion>Data folder, and activate whichever esp you wish to use (NOT both). "Running4Cover's Welkynd Weapons - Free.esp" adds a chest filled with weapons to the North side of the Imperial City Arboratum (if you are walking out of the palace entrance, it is right in front of you). "Running4Cover's Welkynd Weapons - For Sale.esp" adds a merchant (Dark Elf, Female) by the name of Tilenus Vidri to the location where the chest would have been. This merchant sells all the weapons. Bugs: None known: (please report it if you find one, contact information at the end of readme) Conflicts None known. This only edits the ICArboratum exterior cells slightly, so there shouldn't be many (please report it if you find one, contact information at the end of readme) Contacting me: If you wish to contact me, whether it is to report a bug or conflict, to make a suggestion, to comment in general, or to make a request (I don't usually take requests, but it depends), you can contact me on the BGS Forums ( http://www.bethsoft....hp?showforum=25 ), leave a comment on the site where you downloaded this, or e-mail me at lotrfntc11@aim.com (forums are prefered) Version History: 1.1 - October 24th, 2008 - Fixed bug where this mod didn't work for users who don't use the default Oblivion directory (thank you WillieSea and Da_Mage for help) 1.0 - October 24th, 2008 - Original release Once again, I want to make sure everyone is aware that Trollf contributed MANY of the meshes used to create these weapons, so if you think "Wow, these colors look horrible, but I love the shape of the weapons" (I sincerely hope you don't), the Trollf is the person to thank. Please do not redistribute any parts of this without permission from myself. Well, I think that's everything (I usually forget something), so I hope you like this, and please leave comments/ratings showing me how I can improve this. Enjoy ;-) CC (a.k.a. Running4Cover)
  19. Darkrider, could you post the texture and mesh locations for what your working with?
  20. Quote Playboy I want to make a twizted variant? of these for you... Red Mountain fire opal™ style? If not for your use, then for the peeps? Whatya say? I seez it! I have to say, I can barely read that, and am not sure what you are asking (I feel stupid :-P). From what I can tell you are offering/asking to make a "Red Mountain Fire Opal" variant of these? I could have that completely wrong though (I'm not great with gramatical shorthand :-D). If you would re-post this I would be happy to answer :-) CC
  21. Quote R4 these are wicked! (did I say this before) From an Illustrator point of view, as I;m still newer to textures, I might suggest removing the big white stripes (battle axe and whom ever) leave that up to the magic enchantments. Just make a reallly, I mean REALLLY rich color for each tone you use. You want it to POP! My goal with these was to implement the vanilla Welkynd Stone textures, with as few changes to the welkynd parts as possible (resize, crop, and sharpen :-P), while using the patterns hidden in them, as opposed to masking them. I did originally want to make a fourth, more vibrant color (deep purple [ah! Now "Smoke on the Water" is stuck in my head!!!"]), but I'm actually getting sick of Welkynd retexes :-P (I'm sure some time after I do some other stuff, at which point I will also add the Mace). I highly value your opinion, and am glad you think so highly of these! @Verita I'm glad you like these, and will be interested to see what you create ;-)
  22. @WhoGuru I was really hoping someone else here watched Psych :-D I'm glad you like my patterns so much! @StryderofOblivion Glad you like them, and the Blue version already exists; I'll probably be releasing it tomorrow with 47 (I think... some are really similar, though) other Welkynd-inspired weapon retextures, most likely under the name "Ayleid Blades and Blunts". It has red, blue and green versions of #2, #4, #6, and #7, amongst others (although #2 and #6 are both versions of the same weapon). Hope you likey :-D CC
  23. I'm the one here who bites (rah, fear me...), but your chances are pretty good with everyone else. Actually, I'm new here too, so I can't really speak for anyone else, except to say nobody has bitten me yet . So I assume the basic classes you took were based on the Construction Set? Did you get to complete any of those exciting drills/tutorials were you make a mod that removes a plate from an inn counter, then loading it up ingame and beholding your work? That was my first tutorial over on the CS UESP (I was so proud of myself too, it's like "Yes, I can set the table!!!"). Seriously, though, learning to do the basic stuff in the CS is the most important thing to learn, because no matter how good you are at the other stuff (modelling, texturing, scripting), it's useless if you can't put it in-game. So welcome to modder-hood (modder-ness? Modder-dom? Modder-ocity? You get the idea). I get the feeling I'm going to look really stupid as soon as I post this, so I may as well get it over with :-D CC
  24. Okay, I have recently become obsessed with retexturing, and been doing it in my spare time. I am getting sick of just taking random textures and tweaking them, it's just getting boring. So anyway, for the sake of the community (and my sanity) I'm offering my Texturing "skills" to anyone who wants them. These are my limitations: 1) I can only REtexture, if you give me a blank 3D model, and say "make it like this", I will fail miserably. Give me something that already has a texture! 2) I do have limited amounts of time, so nobody expect me to crank out something in a few hours (although it COULD happen) 3) I need detailed descriptions! If I don't know what you want, nobody will be happy with the result! oh, and 4) I don't make anything that could be classified as "Adult Content" When I make you a texture, you may use it, but it will not be released as a Modder's Resource, so only use it in your mod, don't just give it to whomever. It's still my texture, so please give me credit for my work. I realize it is a bit of an assumption to think that people here will want me to do stuff for them and their mods, but I figured nobody else was offering to help with retextures, so I may as well throw my services out here for now. Here are a few pics of stuff I just made (they are relatively limited, as I havn't made a whole lot of stuff before): For my recent work on the Armaments of Bloodsight, go HERE I have worked Welkynd textures a lot, so obviously there is a bit of that floating around here. If you would like me to do a retexture for you, I can't stress this enough, I need detailed descriptions... something like "I want a steel sword with a blue handle, green blade, and purple symbold that looks like this!" with a link to a symbol... not to say that wouldn't be hideous, but you get the idea :-P. Anyways, yeah, I'll see who comments/requests ;-) CC
