  1. Check out my dialog tutorial for basic quest writing. Once you get the basics down, it should be pretty simple to make more complicated quests. The processes for writing simple fetch and retrieve quests are the same as for writing massive quests like defeating Dagoth Ur and even that quest was broken down into smaller parts. If you have any questions, let me know.

Why thank you! I will try to do this if I get a chance. I hope I can.

  2. Actually, although I followed a couple of tuts & made my 1st quest mod, it is not as easy as I thought, sadly. I even had to have DarkRider help me w/ tech issues & stuff. I don't know how I will be able to add to that Sirens mod that I linked to in the quote below. I need more help.

Where is a good place to start learning how to make quest mods? I eventually want to learn to add more content to this mod, which somebody else made. However, tbh, I am not ready for such a project yet, I guess I need to learn the basics 1st of scripting, dialogue, adding silent mp3 files & lipmoving, etc.

Also, not to mention, I wish I knew how to add quests for this mod as well!

  3. Well one is this mod that had like a mushroom shaped store in Sadrith Mora, and it sold tie-dyed tee shirts and jeans which are both pants & shorts--there was both a better bodies version & a vanilla version of the clothing. This particular store also sold/bought skooma and it had a bed downstairs for the player to sleep in, and it had like a jukebox to play your fave tunes on, which you add 8 mp3's to, and you could purchase an amulet which can play those tunes as well. It was a really cool mod, & I would love it, as I had it on my old computer but not here.

Another one was a nice TESIII Khajiit replacer, I can't find it now, and it is not on the net that I can see. They have 1 or 2 other ones that are not as nice. These looked almost elf-like? (NOT "Better Beasts".)

Also, there was a nice texture mod where all the mushrooms & mushroom houses in like Tal Mora & other places like that are like multi-neon colored or something. There is another one, but not as pretty w/ just red & yellow, or something, that's not it, though. This one I am speaking of was bright & pretty colored.

I do not remember the authors of any of these except I think that hair mod was from "Caped" but I can't be certain. Please anyone help me out?

  4. Ok, goody that worked, thanks, DarkRider. Now for the final touch: Where do I get those silent mp3 files again & how do I install them? I'm afraid to fiddle w/ the lip synching because then I would need to use the old version of the cs & I do not want to be bothered w/ that, unless there is another way. Please advise, thanks.

  5. I'm sorry, I am trying to look to see what you mean here. You say, "Add Choices box"--where is that? I am looking under the Topics tab & the Quest Stages tab, but I do not see it. & I hope this does not sound like a stupid question, but exactly which topics or greetings need to have what linked to them and where are they? I wish I could catch on faster, but I can't. Maybe it is because I am not so young to be able to learn things quickly? I don't know what it is.

2 things jump out. First your stage 20 greeting doesn't have anything linking it to the murder topic which is why it isn't running. So in the Add Choices box, rightclick>AddTopic and add the LingTutorialMurder topic.

    From the tutorial

In your murder topic, because you have two lines in the same topic you should add GetStage conditions to them as well, the first should be GetStage 0 the second GetStage 20 so it knows which line to say when.

Other note, when a line of dialogue is the last line, check the goodbye flag so the NPC exits the convo and doesn't force the player to every time.

Those changes and your quest worked for me, you have everything else in place.

  6. You haven't heard of steam? By Valve??? You sir, are blessed.

Basically, it is digital distribution, and DRM, all rolled into one package. Download and install the steam client, set yourself up on it, and then you can buy a pretty good selection of games from steam, and download them directly. No physical disk to use, no disk swapping to play. Convenient.....

I just prefer having the real disk in my hand. :pints:

Oysh, I wish I understood all this computer jargon. Anyway, back to my other question, aren't the TES games that are on the cellphone, you know the Travels games MMO type?
