  1. Yes I believe that some of the older stuff is built better then the new stuff.

    I agree, my keyboard is an old dynex "internet keyboard", never had a problem with it, just a bit dirty :) .

    Now, mouses on the other hand... I've gone through so many lately its incredibly aggravating. Expensive logitech G5 mouse just decides to stop working one day so now I'm stuck with this gateway mouse that came with my dad's computer, its not bad, just only has two buttons and a wheel. But it seems everything I get that is logitech breaks a little after a month. :P I literally have 3 logitech headsets that don't work because of loose wiring in an earphone or mic, all breaking not much longer than a month after buying them :grr: . I have to find a brand that makes equipment as durable as they used to make them...

  2. Nice! I'm usually not one for castles, but this looks pretty good :) Even better with the new version!

    EDIT: You might want to update your download link to TES Alliance, its broken! :)

  3. :rofl: I feel safe where the crowds are.

    And it's time for another round of "Show off your Desktops!" And...I think I'm gonna lose this round. :rofl: My desktop's a mess.

    *snip*

    I like the background image, very cool :D even with the clutter :P

    Oh, and my desktop is pretty lame right now so I'll just pass on this one :lmao:

  4. Updated with Version 1.1 with titles!

    Really adds character to a faceless name. And sometimes its even funny, while testing I found these the funniest :wallbash: :

    Ndeequa The Fumbling Torchbearer

    Shew The Creepy Mistress

    Mpeazeck The Bad Hatmaker

    Thaigho The Smelly Jailor

    Oimpeanthaw The Dead Poet

    Ibeylc The Eager Fodder

    Spietrew The Hypnotic Nanny

    Ucheilm The Mindless Copyist

    Bleaquoo The Deceased Electric eel

    Teugrow The Twitchy Surgeon

    Crai Meabrindeuclapreyv The Stereotypical Fortune Teller

    Anyways I hope someone will find use for this. Or at least get a laugh off of it :)

  5. Not exactly an Oblivion mod, but I think it would certainly be useful for modders. I plan on using this for naming anything really, characters in my mods, names of cities, characters in my writing, anything really. Hope you guys find it useful as well :)

    Name: Jumble - Random Name Generator

    Author: Critterman

    Version: 1.1

    Date: 7/15/2010

    Requirements: Java JDK 6 (get it at: http://java.sun.com/)

    ===============

    Description:

    ===============

    After being stumped one too many times trying to think of the "right" name, I devised a solution: make a random name generator that never runs out of names! Jumble takes a list of consonants and vowels and scrambles them together randomly, multiple times, to create completely unique names. This, however, creates wild and out-landish names; though useful in some fantasy settings, there is also a need for more conventional names. That is why I also integrated a generator that randomly scrambles the most common male, female, and last names from the United States 2000 census. In the newest version I also added the option to randomly generate a title to go with your name (which can sometimes produce funny results). The possible combinations of both jumbled and conventional names is approx. 48,874,430,485,409,259,613,497 (48 sextillion). Even if you decided to name every grain of sand in all the oceans of the world, you would still have names left-over.

    ===============

    Features:

    ===============

    * Generate completely random names.

    * Choose the complexity (length) of the names generated.

    * Automatically splits names larger than 16 characters into two names (at a random point).

    * Choose to randomize the complexity up to a certain point.

    * Generate combinations of names from the United States 2000 census.

    * Choose whether to generate female, male, or both names.

    * Generate a random title from lists to go with your generated name (includes an adjective, a noun, or both).

    * Generate one name at a time or in batches.

    * Choose to save the results as you generate more.

    ===============

    Bugs/Issues:

    ===============

    Currently I have not encountered any bugs or issues while testing version 1.0 (and version 1.1). However, if you find one, then please contact me (see contact info) so I can fix it in the next version.

    ===============

  6. Sounds interesting. My only suggestion: keep it simple! I don't want to look at a bunch of stats to figure out if I'm tired or hungry. But yeah, I'll keep my eye on this :P

  7. Basically, after a certain number of targets switch, the time that the shot is open decreases. Also, I wanted to add a section where the time to hit goes up to 6 and the player gets two open targets, but how could I script that without having to use a while loop? And is using OBSE a big thing for some people? I mean like does it slow some computers down a lot?

    If you really need OBSE I think you should use it. OBSE doesn't cause any performance hit on its own, but if a modder uses a CPU intensive function over and over again then it would possibly cause a performance hit.

  8. Oh, haha, well I can't think of many ideas off the top of my head. But here is a little:

    1. An oven. Was actually my first mod, so fairly basic. You just put stuff into a container, activate it somehow, and then turn the ingredients into things like bread, sweetroll, etc.

    2. A clock. See Willie's tutorial here on TES Alliance. With the tutorial it shouldn't be too hard.

    3. Turn off/on lights. Well this is actually easy, but its all I can think of.

    4. Training room. Like spawn monsters so the player can kill them. This is probably harder, but if you have fun with it it might not be too bad.

  9. Mostly all of my modding (aka scripting) ideas come from just playing oblivion. Usually I'm just playing and I come across something I want to add/change/improve. Then a mod idea is born!

    So my suggestion to you is to go in-game find a home, and just live there for a while and figure out what would improve it. I could tell you some ideas, but you probably won't like them, or be willing to script as much as your own ideas.
