  1. Since finding the turn-off road that hadn't been there before, Newt had continued on to Gottshaw Inn and made some promises to Foroch regarding some future business ventures. Then he had returned to Brina Cross, collected his mules, and said his goodbye's to his friends there. Of course, no mention had been made of the mysterious road to anyone. Now, as Newt continued up the road, he wondered about that unlikely group of adventurers he had met met briefly in Cheydinhal so many weeks before. Deadly looking bunch. I imagine that whatever their business way up north had been, the carrion eaters had benefited, also. It would take an army to turn them from their chosen path. And then they would regret trying.

As he got closer he could see set in the trees ahead a large sign with two mugs and the words: The Tavern. Very soon he could make out a large building, much larger than I expected, in the Chorrol architectural style. On the left was the stable area, and Chips began to feel an unexpected sense of deja vu'. I have a feeling this will become my home away from home ! And there will be good times, comradeship and very interesting stories for my book, too ! " Come on, mules without names. Ogan, just what you need, some more time to stand around." He patted the stout black neck and glanced around for Jazz. " Nowhere in sight, but that's usual." When Jazz entered a new settlement, it was as a shadow arriving. I know some men and mer that can do the same, he thought.

Newt began to notice the immaculate condition of the grounds, and as a horticulturist he had to admire the profusion of freeform flowerbeds scattered in every possible place. He also started smelling the tantalizing odors of honey and baked goods and see well-dressed , clean children scurrying about and hear laughter. Even Ogan sensed the happiness emanating from the area ahead, and started doing his fancy side-step that both pleased himself; and any mares pastured ahead that might see his arrival.

Dismounting in front of a cavernous barn, he handed Ogan's reins to a stout lad that met him with an air of authority. Adding a silver coin, and quickly removing his saddlebags, he brought out a large bag of blackberry candies for the throng of small children that were fast gathering around him.

" No oats, but some salt hay and a thorough combing, good squire. If he will let you, take him for a short ride every day I stay here." As the young man hurried to obey, Chips knew he had made the first of possibly many friends here.

"That is a mighty fine looking animal. What would his name be; and yours, too, of course. Tho' I will admit to a preference for horses over men any day of the week ."

Newt turned to see a grizzled older man approaching on a crutch, but with the obvious energy of a much younger man. " His name is Ogan, and mine is Newt. And you are right - you can turn your back on even a horse that is a stranger to you."

The old man nodded and thrust out a gnarly hand. "I'm the smith and farrier here, as you might have figured out already. If you were dumb, that horse wouldn't be your friend. And I would guess further that big black tomcat travels with you, too."

Newt looked around quickly in amazement. " Don't miss much, do you, oldtimer?"

An amused expression formed on the wrinkled old face and for a second Newt saw a Legion Horseman in his prime. Then the old smith said, "Oh, I have missed before. But... never on the second swing ! Now lets get these mules put up and see what kind of goods you're carrying, trader. All this jawing has got my throat kinda dry - if you get my meaning!"

Firewall here at house won't let me access basement close-up or pathing pic. Is in the gallery. DL'd TES4 Edit this am and have a tut up on other comp. Will learn it today; no more lizards destroying my hard work !

Edit: Got TES4 working - House of Paine is cleaned - Will upload pic later - Wilson looks too cool on front of Allegiance Gallery right now to mess with !

  3. I thought it was finished. Don't recall doing anything to it. Hana says TES4 edit may be able to fix it. I should get it and learn it - Gecko hates me (and Who, too, I hear !) Btw - Echota Village spent the night in the bin with day b4 back-up, but were rescued this morning. ( Hope it scared them) I do plan on finishing it; and Arion has offered to help if he can build a chapel in it ! It is a great location on the border, and I will delete my barkeep first thing. Before the fat lady sings, I will be good at this.

Edit: I had to turn it off, conflicted with the final cell somehow. Gonna take it out of Data, to work on later. And... if I Gecko my final, I will ruin it, so I'm kinda stuck still !

  4. Hi DR. My final kinda ballooned up on me like a Dwemer Airship in a high wind ! lol It's now Echota Village with main house; that has a basement / tunnelcrypt / fort ruin with 4 working traps and physically connects to the Lowerclass Tavern due north in the next cell. Barkeep house, Bouncer house, stables, well, and 2 Khajiit custom NPC's. All interiors are done and pathed, exterior is pathed and landscaped, and the Tavern is attracting as many as 30 NPC's a day ! ( It is not set public ?) Pet Glyptodon in bouncer house. All buildings are in -13, -2 and -13, -1... but claimed -13, -3 and now show conflict with Elsweyr. Have link to Arthmoor's patch tut (ty Hana) and need to add AI packages to my NPC's so they go to their houses at 6 am. (ty IS) but I want this right before release. Should I just back-burner this and do something a little less ambitious for the final ? Didn't intend for this to get so big - just kinda happened.

    Lots of landscaping since screenshot

  5. I apoligize for the delay getting back to this, DR. Finished a 'coupla ongoing projects I had started, and installed and am loving Elsweyr/Anequina. Will begin Final Exam with release option Monday the 13th. Will work hard on it till it's finished !

Btw - Carter is pretty cool char in TT. Kinda like Cyrus in Elder Scrolls Adventures. Was he your inspiration ?

  6. "Boy, do I need a bath." Ogan flicked his ears back and then sneezed loudly. One of the mules roped behind sneezed, too. " I know, it's pretty bad." said Newt, beginning to laugh so hard it hurt.

He was very glad to be heading back towards the Gold Road. His reluctant adventure in the bowels of Fort Sutch, ( well, all of it hadn't been reluctant ) had boosted his self-confidence with it's successful conclusion. The item Bagamol-gro-Lorbgurnol had given him was beyond belief. To actually posses King Orgnum's Coffer ! Strange that it was in Cyrodil. He was aware that it could, and would disappear unpredictably, and he certainly didn't need the gold. But what a thrill to actually be able to touch a truly legendary artifact.

Newt loved the lore of Nirn, and as a bona-fide "Finder of Antiquities" spent most of his travel time lost in thought about the long history of Mundus. He knew that the Coffer had been seen in the past in the Summerset Isles and in High Rock. This might be the furthest east it had ever materialized. He imagined, though many times in the past it had been found by someone who never told anyone they had it.

Imagine being able to keep that secret. Bet no Wood Elf ever had it without telling someone!

To the south he could see a large estate. Pretty fancy place. I wonder what's going on here? Knocking on the ornate front door, it was answered by an attractive, richly dressed Dunmer woman. She had been civil, but hadn't invited him in. She had told him to help himself to anything from the extensive vegetable garden, though. As he was leaving, he had checked the several slave cabins on the property, but they all were empty. This is somewhat mysterious; maybe I'll stop here on my next trip east. Could be she is a widow in need of some......consolation.

According to the group of adventurers he had met in Cheydinhal, he was sure he was near the Tavern they had told him of. Continuing south and east, he entered a large meadow. In the distance he saw a thin curl of smoke rising. Campfire or Inn, I wonder. Getting closer, he saw a large building behing a huge spur of land. Closer still and he recognized the Brina Cross Inn. He had stayed there several times in the past, so he decided to stay again tonight and get that bath he so desperately needed. Unsaddling Ogan in the paddock, and removing the packs, kegs, and orange trees from his two mules, he and Jazz went inside. As usual, his old friend Cristophe Marane was behind the counter. It was a little known fact that Chris taught blunt weapon skill, and after his bath and a hearty meal, they had a vigorous practice session. Newt preferred bladed weapons, but he knew any skill learned would always prove useful. Afterwards, he and Arielle Jurard took a walk, as was their custom when he visited.

Rising early the next morning, Arielle brought him a message on a scroll from Foroch, the owner of Gottshaw Inn. He requested Newt visit at his first available opportunity to discuss a possible business deal. Foroch had considerable business savvy, so Chips decided to backtrack and go see him this very day.

Leaving his mules at Brina Cross, he and Ogan headed east at a gallop. Having been some time since letting Ogan have his way, Newt marvelled anew at the speed of his big black friend. " By Jephre, Ogan, you run like the very wind itself." Looking back, he could see Jazz falling steadily behind. "We'll let him catch up in a bit."

"Ok, Ogan. Thats enough for now. I'm gonna collect some plant materials, you can walk awhile, and fishface can catch up to us."

This section of the Gold Road was described as an Alchemist's Dream, and it truly was. Aloe Vera and Lady's Mantle grew in profusion in this area, excellent for making restorative potions.

Suddenly Newt noticed a dirt road leading into a large meadow towards a forested area in the distance. I've never seen this turnoff before, and I have passed this way, umm, at least a dozen times. This must be the way to the Tavern that group told me about! I've been all around it since leaving Fort Sutch! I wonder if they are there and how they are doing? I would like to get better aquainted with them, listen to their adventure stories, and I promised them an orange grove of their own !

  7. Appreciate your time and concern. Am in no way offended, quite the opposite - grateful for help. I am a loner/perfectionist and was taught if it is worth doing it is worth doing well! Marie Elena is empty and useless for the entire game if u never join the DB. Captain and 4 pirates only spawn when DB contract one is accepted. Gonna try to copy the ship on down the road someday.

You and your site have enhanced my OB experience. Many thanks!

  8. Yes, I do understand. I did not intentionally delete anything persistant. There is always a warning that an item has a function when u try to delete it, and I always said no. The only item I recall it happening was a chair in the captain cabin, and when I saw it in Gecko, I told it to ignore. I had only clicked on it to move it over a little. Did u actually see I had wrecked something, or just think I have? ( Not trying to be a smart-aleck) I really wonder. By the way, when it happened I was surprised, because it was not the chair the Captain is sitting in when u come in to kill him - it was the next one over. 1st time I made the mod with the non-custom containers, I joined DB, came to ship - took smuggled crate aboard (still worked) and went up to captains cabin. He was there, killed him, 2 more pirates showed up - Companion in Cap Cabin and I killed them. Went to mid-deck, 2 more pirates showed up - 4 companions there killed them for me.

Next - didn't know and don't have a clue how to copy ship. Cool idea, though. Would have done it.

Next - why are you eating a cookie while posting ? lol

One more thing I want you to know - I understand you are very busy here and can't hand-carry people or jam knowledge into their brains. I don't want to model, or texture. I am interested in making small mods and the lore of Nirn, and have the time and inclination to learn. I wish I had started 3 - 4 years ago, but didn't because I didn't know modding existed. Since joining this wonderful place, my learning curve has been very steep and I crave understanding of what I'm learning.

Gonna make a brand - new char and check this over again.

  9. What a relief - yes the mod works fine. 64 DL and 2200 views on old version at Nexus. Gonna post 1.1 now. Only thing wrong with old version was containers were not custom so my mod makes every one of those containers in Tamriel non-respawning. I realize I don't have the right to do that to the world of Nirn.

Sorry for my panic. What was throwing me was Arion told me deleted items don't show in Gecko. Well they all do in this mod! I was in a vicious circle, toggle ignore and they came back. Gecko'd it again, then went in-game. It is as I wanted, but now all containers are custom, and more detailed. No yellow in container section. Only yellow is mid-deck, lower-deck, Captains Cabin and Tamriel worldspace. AND every deleted item ?! But that is correct, so I left it this time.

Didn't mean to be a pain in the wazoo!

  10. OK, quick history. This is a conversion of the Maria Elena to be a dorm for 5 companions. 1st try, unchecked respawn every container, deleted many things = Wrong!

In Gecko - toggled ignore to everything, remade every container custom - no yellow in Gecko. Everything deleted came back. Re-deleted things I didn't want. No conflicts in OBMM, mod in-game has 5 cute elves aboard, no fps lag, all 5 running idle animations, say hello, etc. But in Gecko, 3 or 4 pages of yellow! Don't know what to do at this point to get rid of it. Tried to clean, got exception twice. Btw - DB quest is unaffected and secret way in works. Know for a fact. All u have to do to take over ship is walk aboard and kill 3 pirates outside. Before or after DB mision. And I know ur partial to pirates, DR, so........sorry !

    Gecko shot

  11. Well, that was interesting. And quite odd. And very, very profitable. Time to find the Tavern. And a bath!

Upon arriving nearby to Fort Sutch, Newt had been met by an Orc named Ulmug-gro-Cromgog and told to hobble Ogan and his two mules in a cul-de-sac behind some large wall remnants. Jazz had taken off immediately when the Orc showed up, proving once again he was a very smart cat.

Newt had taken the precaution of rising the previous night at approximately 2 a.m. and burying his four kegs of powder and various other items some distance from his campsite. He had kept a small amount in a tanned boar stomach he used for items that couldn't stand the wet.

There had been a marauder supposedly watching his camp, but he had been fast asleep and snoring like an Ogre when Newt had crept up on him.

Wonder how he is feeling today. Bet he is staring at the fire, drooling, and scratching his rump. IF he can remember how to build a fire and IF he can remember where his rump is. Good job,Chips, that was a brilliant idea to coat the inside of his pewter mug with that coda flower, heather, and dreugh wax infusion. He will be so stupid and disgusting that for the next three days even his Orc buddies won't come within a mile of him! Gotta make sure to put that in my book someday.

Nearby was a trap-door in the foundation of a destroyed building. Drawing some small comfort from the fact he had been allowed to keep his weapons, he went over to it as he was told. Still, he had gone down into the tunnels beneath it with a heightened sense of dread. He hated the underground with a passion. Once he left the sky behind, his natural optimism vanished almost instantly. His hands began to shake, and his voice climbed in timbre to almost a squeak. It irritated him immensely, but he had never been able to make the slightest progress in ridding himself of his subterranean dread.

The Dwemer had lived underground, and their entire race had vanished!

Following the smelly, armor-plated Orc away from the ladder and deeper into the tunnels had taken almost all the courage he possessed. Newt was scared, but he didn't see any specific danger at the moment, so his resolve to see this mystery through drove him on. Ahead was some knee-deep water. He hated underground water worse than underground dirt. Then the passage slanted upwards, and his spirits also began to rise with the increase in elevation.

Soon to find out what this is about, I reckon.

After many turns that he committed to memory, they finally arrived in a large, better lit, multi-level area. On a small ledge in the distance was a Redguard woman waving impatiently. Ulmog pointed to go to her. Newt made a right and the next left up some stairs to where she was waiting. On a raised stone platform there was a red upperclass bed and on it was a huge Orc that appeared to be dead. After a quick examination, Newt decided he was not deceased, but in some sort of suspended animation. Having heard of a Dark Brotherhood poison that could induce those effects, he hoped the bottle he had brought here would prove to be the correct antidote. Going back to the closest cooking fire, he began to prepare a pot of Willow Anther and Corkbulb tea.

The province of Morrowind was a highly dangerous place, but the Gods in their wisdom had provided it with a bounty of extremely useful herbs.

Mixing the unknown medicine with his tea, he went back upstairs. Using a hollow reed, he gave the comatose Orc small draughts until it was all gone.

Suddenly drained by his hopes; and his fears, he went to the nearest bedroll and fell almost instantly asleep.

He awoke when he realized the huge Orc was dragging him to his feet.....and hugging him!

The smell of 400 pounds of long-comatose Orc and the strength of the bearhug almost ended his life right then, but he survived. That night many marauders from miles around showed up and they had a huge feast. Newt returned to his buried supplies and contributed 12 bottles of cheap wine to the festivities..... They lasted about half that many minutes.

The Redguard woman, who turned out to be very attractive seemed to find Newt irrestible. Taking his hand late in the night as the snores and belches rose in intensity in the main hall, she showed him to a small room she had furnished and maintained for herself.

Waking the next morning, Newt felt so content he completely forgot (for a few minutes) that he was still below gound. Speaking of smells, I always seem to come out smelling like a rose, he thought with a satisfied grin.

Bagamol-gro-Lorbgurnol was the huge Orc's name , and when he saw Newt later that day he proceeded to try to pound him on the back with delight. (Blows that would have broken his spine and every rib he owned).

Crooking his finger, and smiling an evil Orcish smile, he motioned for Newt to follow him. Arriving at an ancient-looking chest in a side tunnel, he lifted the lid and moved aside. Peering into the chest, Newt smiled a very similiar smile and shook the Orc's huge green hand fiercely.

  12. "Whoa! Ogan, easy now! I know your ready to travel, I am, too. Almost seven weeks in the Imperial City! Did you enjoy your vacation? Bet you had some adventures of your own here at the Chestnut Handy Stables."

Newt had to chuckle at the sight of the three beautiful mares that were standing at the gate to the corral staring intently at Ogan with somewhat crestfallen expressions. Horses have so much personality. I just love them. It's a shame Men and Mer are not as honest and dependable.

Making sure all was in readiness, and quite pleased that no nasty llamas pack-beasts would be traveling with him on the rest of his eventual return to Valenwood, he headed for the Wawnet Inn. He needed to get his six remaining orange trees and say his goodbye's to his newest investor, the lovely Nerussa.

Discussed wines into the wee hours of the night, we did. And sampled quite a few of her vintages!

Newt's visit to the Imperial City had been a wildly successful, highly profitable adventure in and of itself. The Davilu dagger had resulted in a profit of over 8000 septims, though it was probably worth more. He had not been able to discover what the blue glow enchantment was, but the buyer must have known, and it rankled him a little. No amount of Cyrodillic brandy had been able to loose his tongue, either. Newt's unique ability to cure hangover with a remedy he knew how to make had stood him in good stead the next morning! He was, however relieved the dagger was no longer in his chest nearby.

The two Dwemer texts had been examined at the Arcane University and pronounced genuine. Arch-Magister Traven had placed them in the Archives with much pomp and circumstance. Newt had been given an official document listing him as an accomplished "Finder of Antiquities" and more to his liking he had been promised perpetual access to the Libraries for research at any time. He planned in his old age to publish accounts of his travels, similiar to The Argonian Accounts.

After several clandestine meetings with Armand Christophe, he had been able to aquire four small kegs of black powder. Several merchants had told him they they could get him some, but never had. It was part of the reason he had stayed so long here. He had traded his two Dwemer maces and considerable coinage for them. These will come in quite handy, I'm sure. Hard to find, and quite expensive. He had also purchased an Ebony Crossbow, but was less than pleased with it. He found it much too slow to load and fire, though it did have impressive hitting power. I'm sure some City Guard Captain somewhere would want to buy it later on.

Looking over his shoulder towards the west, Newt said a mental goodbye to the city. Center of the Universe. Had a great time, but a Wood Elf is a wilderness creature at heart.

Newt's purse was fat, his outlook optimistic, and his future appeared bright. As he left the bridge and returned to the road surface, he saw Jazz over near the water's edge to the right of the Inn. "That's enough fishing. Leave some for later. C'mon, we're getting back on the road very soon." The cat gave him one of his patented one-eyed looks that were his speciality and came over to check out the two mules that were roped behind Ogan. They snorted and stamped their feet, but when they saw that Jazz wasn't impressed, they subsided and sniffed him gingerly. Leaving them to get better acquainted, Newt hurried over to load his trees. Still plan on planting these at that Tavern when I find it.

Returning from the Inn with a thoughtful expression on his face, he wondered why the Orc had been there waiting on him. He had been told in no uncertain terms that he was to go immediately to Fort Sutch because his medicinal skills were needed. And they had threatened to eat Ogan if he didn't agree!

Newt was no coward, but neither was he a fool, and he didn't care for the prospect of an ongoing feud with all the marauders in Western Cyrodil.

As usual, I will find interesting profit opportunities in this situation; I always do!

    " C'mon, Fishbreath. We're on a mission, and you're done fishing "

This is obviously after toggling ignore on everything and remaking every container in the ship. All of the deleted items came back and I re-deleted them. Now every container is fine, but what is all the yellow every where else ?

  14. gallery_2308_175_12662.jpg

OBMM found no conflicts in this mod, but today I finally Gecko'd it and it is FULL of yellow !

I made no changes at all to Maria Elena, but I did check every container for respawning. I also moved a lot ot the furniture around, Is that what has caused all the yellow entries? I do not want a dirty mod out there, and it was dloaded 41 times today at Nexus. Someone please help me with this. I would appreciate it very much.

  15. I am fairly new here - taking CS Basic classes now. Was self-taught (bad idea) but have redone every player home In game before (with container errors) which I no longer make. Enjoy creative cluttering - would help here if wanted. Landscaper 30 years in RL, know what plants look good together. Some pics in gallery - have permission to renovate Wine Overhaul - almost ready for release.

  16. Since manually installing Apachii Goddess Store (4 times) before it all worked correctly I have been leery of large; multiple part downloads. Now wonder about OMOD - ing Deserts of Elswyr ? Nowhere near as large, but I would like OMOD copy anyway just for my backup disc's. Should I or just extract to Data ?
