  1. so I *think* there's only one problem left with my mod! I want to be able to have my quest update when the PC enters a specific cell (my cave). I can't figure that part out, though. Also: do I need to prevent the quest from updating to this stage when the PC hasn't completed the prior stages? (like if you stumble upon the way to get in rather than being told)

  3. So I've followed all the wonderful instructions in DarkRider's classes in the Voice Actor classes and I've got a lovely batch of .LIP and .MP3 files. I also have this neat little quest mod that would love to have them implemented (thanks to Lingwei's guide!). I'm a bit confused now, though as to what to do in the CS 1.2 with my (CS 1.0) .LIP files and my .MP3 files respectively. I know one group of them goes in the data/sound/voice/(my mod's name)/(race)/(sex) folder.. but I don't know if that's the .MP3 files or the .LIP files... and I have no idea where the other group goes I looked through the topics here and thought that this detail might have been skipped over since most here might know it already.

  5. Yeah, the thing is massive, I'll give you that hahaha! It's from a manga called bleach, and I'm kinda fixated on it i asked around the Beth forums to see if anyone was interested in doing it for me/their own amusement. Got no bites, so I'm thinking of trying my hand with blender myself oh, also: what's the chance of my being able to get those chains to look like they're attached to the hilts of the swords?

Here's the real question: How hard would it be to be able to create this weapon: I was thinking there would be a weapon part, shield part, and cuirass part to it (logistically speaking). I'm just trying to gauge how much learning I'd have to do as well as how much time I'd be looking at as an investment. Any ballpark figures?

  10. So i'm having a new CTD issue.. I asked on the forums, but got no replies. So maybe this thread will evolve into "Colin's continual crash complaints".. or C4 for short? here's the new issue, pasted from the beth forums: So I'm getting random CTDs about 15 mins to an hour into gameplay. No fun. most often they happen a few seconds after entering an Interior cell. I thought that they might be from Salmo the Baker, but have now tried unchecking that mod, rebuilding my bashed patch, and am having the same result. I am running my game with V. sync unchecked and on low settings.   11. sweet. That must have been what I did. I was in the habit of copying things from the dungeon tutorial. I'm still unclear on what I can and can't copy. Thanks for the tip! @Whoguru - If I wanted to make cobl necessary for my mod I think I could do that, too.. but then.. it's so tiny a mod

  15. ah, ok. I thought that maybe the quest would show up randomly with other NPCs if I didn't stipulate those things. Ah well.
  16. oh, incidentally, could the problem with my second NPC not using his correct greeting have something to do with my quest conditions? as in not the conditions of the second step, but the quest overall? up until now I was using: GetIsID elenara == 1.00 GetInCell ICArcaneUniversity == 1.00 GetIsPlayableRace == 1.00 would any of those hamper the second NPC (who is not elenara and lives in leyawiin) from doing his job and advancing the quest?

  19. They do have greetings, but the second character is using a stock greeting with vanilla voicing instead of the one I added to him.
  20. well... I feel like I'm not doing anything correctly this time. I tried implementing the scripting on my book and nothing happened. here's what i typed: scn aaTelekineticDamageSpellTomeSCRIPT begin onactivate player.addspell CMDamageTelekinesisSpell2 end and then I implemented it on my book. any ideas? I'm also unable to get my second actor to display any topics other than rumors when he's talked to. I DID use another NPC to create him from, but the first NPC worked fine and I did that with her as well. His only conditions are: GetIsID NPC:'ElenarasCourier' == 1.00 and GetStage Quest:'MissingTelekineticMaster' == 5.00
  21. I feel like I'm taking a master class here. HAHA.. scripting, the CS, quest writing. I knew none of these things before this Thanks a ton, again Dark! I think I've hit the stage where I'm just working out the bugs in this mod! Unfortunately, that's added a few more questions to my list: Concerning the quest: I've been able to start the quest, but only when my quest-giver is in the correct cell. Otherwise, she only has a rumors topic. I'm guessing this has something to do with how I set up her conditions. I might get this one figured out myself... maybe I am also having a similar issue with my second NPC, but he only resides in a certain interior cell and never has the quest topic listed I'm pretty sure I'll have this issue with the 3rd NPC as well. I am not using a GREETING topic to start their conversations, as I thought that you could only use this once per quest. I'd really rather use one, as it seems to work well in beginning a conversation. Is it possible to use it twice? or three times? I'm just sure that I read that it was a bad idea to change it's name in both of the questing tutorials. I've also been sent the .esp with the spell in it that Critterman created. The issue here is that I can't seem to open the .esp with any program. Is there something I'm doing incorrectly? does the .esp need to be in my data folder to be opened? It isn't currently.. but I've tried opening it with the CS and with OBMM and unzipping it with 7zip. Oh.. and I'll want to "merge" the .esp files right? I don't know what that means, really, either

  23. Welcome Shezrie!! I posted this on the squawk box (or whatever we're calling it) on the home page, but I was the guy who asked about your lovely villages on your Real Estate site. I'd like to inform you that I LOVE them (yes! WITH CAPS!). One of your villages, in fact just booted one of the Unique Landscapes mods off of my build, a "Unique" occurrence thus far Also, I've always wanted to visit France.. and was very close to doing so this year. I opted to stay across the pond in England and Ireland for some extra time, however. NOW France, Germany, and Belgium are all calling to me in my mind. I think the traveling part of me may never be satisfied. Your experience living in France sounds wonderful.. color me green!
  24. So would I write player.subtractitem ItemID count# to have the PC lose (or pay) that amount?
