  1. Wow.. I feel like I've almost got this quest finished! Thanks for all the help DarkRider! I'm only incapable of doing a couple things now, but I'm guessing that this MOD is 75-80% finished! If I might ask a few more things: First: is there a resource that i should be going to instead of to you, regarding quest-building? (I mean another one) How can I make an NPC disappear from the game after completing his part of my quest? How do you make the PC give an amount of gold to an NPC after making a choice in a quest? Umm.. how are things with you?
  2. so that worked perfectly, thanks! The tutorial doesn't tell me how to mark an NPC on the map. Can I do this after a certain phase of the dialogue? Or at least mark a building that the NPC is in?

  4. Absolutely. Quote Right click under "Editor ID" and click new. Make three this time before you select one.Make the following, or name them your own. I went with "FA*" as the FA stands for "Fallen Alliance" which is the quest name, it's good to group them with a prefix like this, or else you will get lost. * FAWho * FAYes * FANo Go ahead and paste the GetIsID NPC:DiemosVeland 1 condition in each of them before we forget.

So I've got a dungeon and a couple NPCs and was trying to do the Questing Tutorial, but my Quests menu doesn't seem to have the options mentioned in it, specifically the "key opens a door" part of the tutorial. I seem to only have "add" or "delete" options and it asks me to click on "new". Am I misunderstanding? Also.. I'm not sure how to make a new quest without it being an altered versioun of an already existing one. If that is the easiest way to make a quest.. is there a way to quickly delete all the info in that quest after I re-name it?
  6. Ok WhoGuru.. I'll have a script for you soon! maybe tonight, but I HAVE to get some VO stuff done first. The Wisps are no longer Hostile! Woot! I'll just have to figure out how to get the quest written and (gulp) make .LIP files next.. but I think I remember a tutorial about that around here somewhere. Oh.. I should probably post a screenie or two, too. I'll include one of the weirdness concerning my Map Marker.

  8. So I'm working on my very first mod It's going to add one new spell as well as a small cave NE of Lleyawiin.. and one NPC to the Arcane University. I've just finished the first "draft" of the cave and have a couple of questions: My Map Marker isn't activating correctly, AND the marker itself (the red box) is viewable in-game .... how did I do that? How can I fix it? Also I'm trying to use a benign version of the Will-o-the-Wisp creature. Is there a way to make it not act like a creature? I thought all that I would have to do would be to change it's faction, but they still attacked me, even though I belong to their same faction I MAY need the services of a female Voice Actor who can do a middle-aged Altmer. Any takers? very few lines.. maybe ten? (sorry guys.. I uh.. I got the male NPC taken care of )

  11. So I've been talking with a friend on the official forums who has the scripting done almost entirely for the telekinesis spell I had mentioned earlier. I'm amazed at what he's done. I'm writing this post to ask how difficult it is to create a simple quest with which to implement the spell in-game. I'm thinking a crazy old codger in a cave or something. More precisely, I'd like to add a discussion topic concerning him to some mages guild NPCs after I reach a certain level.. or maybe a certain level of mastery in Mysticism? Either way I'd like dialogue to start the quest, a remote but small cave to be included, and for the spell to ultimately be delivered to the PC in the form of a book. How hard would it be for me to learn such things? I'd really like to tackle that stuff myself BUT, as I've never modded myself before and have a THEATRE DEGREE I'm a little scared

  14. can we set the area of effect to a small radius maybe? I'd be willing to accept that as a side effect of the weight of the telekinetic energy dispersing and striking secondary actors in a limited area.
  15. so I've been kicking around an idea for a while concerning a new telekinesis spell and was wondering if it would be possible to do (like within the realm of possibility at all): Spell: "Tactical Telekinesis" Effect: objects picked up and thrown (like in vanilla) now have the ability to deal damage to actors when they hit them. this damage varies by object, and is in direct relationship to the weight of the object itself. The casting cost of the spell varies in the same way. the more damage done, the better likelihood of the person struck stumbling or even being knocked down. (no way did I just use that emoticon in a practical manner!!) any thoughts?
  16. the cities are functioning fine the way i have it. I am using obmm also. I think it placed the BC full.esp there to deal with vauts of cyrodiil.. in fact it's not letting me move it lol. my whole world space is functioning fine, actually. It's just the leaving of my character creation screen that triggers a world of hurt

Collecting candles and LINING my houses with them until I got the bag of endlessness that appears when a cell is over-loaded. i loved having candles in my house so much that I now have the "candles for kleptos" mod for Oblivion, too speaking of werewolves and glitches. So if you get bitten by a vampire.. then put on the ring of hircine, then turn into a vampire... i think that's how it goes... you get all the buffs and you sorta... half turn into a werewolf and half a vampire (visually) it's odd. maybe this only happened to me.. as a said, i think it was a glitch. tons of fun ensued, though
  19. *Hand raised* 1. Ok, so I had an x-box version of the game but had access to a cheat or two. I thought it would be a great idea to amplify my JUMP ability by... maybe 10,000? I slip the ring on, thinking "HAHA! now I'll be able to scale cliffs/jump to the tops of towers! I'll be like a pole vaulter!" Standing in the starting village (It's been a while and I don't remember!!) I immediately flew so far above the map that it was entirely invisible.. maybe clouds were present? I then notice my mini-map is SCREAMING by! I eventially started coming back down to earth.. at an alarming rate... and brained myself on the foothills surrounding red mountain. I'd covered a good half of the world-space! maybe a bit too much extra juice? maybe cheats are for suckers and those intelligent enough to use them responsibly? never really apmlified the jump again either way 2. Finding that talking crab who happened to be a merchant! 3. making an argonian character who didn't care about being nerevarine, but cared a LOT about pearl-diving! 4. trying to make a suit of armor that had enough health-healing enchants to wear the umm.. gauntlet.. that you get towards the end of the main quest... without being nerevarine or dying! (this also had great appeal for creating a day-walker style vampire!) most likely more to come!
  20. ah, no worries. I'm thinking of doing a full re-build of the game sometime soon. My "homebody" character got infected with werewolfism anyway, and my evil character has become a *touch* godlike.... a good time to re-tool and start anew methinks. a couple lost objects might just put me over the edge. Heck, maybe I'll get into that whole body-replacer/pretty people craze ... ya young whippersnappers.

  22. oh it's not solved, yet. I could try that. I was thinking of going for broke and starting *sniff* all over with a new load.. granted i'd just as likely have the same issue. oh and I found another missing object in a mine that has english voice-work (not vanilla stuff)... Dun DunDUN. Now I'm not even sure that it was this particular mod. Actually, it makes me think that it was something else entirely. what does Colin have loaded that uses Voice work.. let's see: Malevolent Cybiades Ivellon (I think?) Lost Spires Rideable.. sheep? no.. no that one doesn't talk. Oh! there's also sentient weapon. Anyone know if any of these have a cave-type dungeon? i figure re-loading them might help if so. Sorry this is getting so involved..

  24. so I posted this on the official forums without much luck and thought that one of you guys might have some insight: I've got a pretty stable game with over 100 mods running, and just added Ramys Monster to the group. I've put it in the middle of the load order, and the monsters are functioning fine, but when I go into the First Edition in the market district i get those wonderful yellow and blue exclamation marks we all hate to see. the mod is just a .bsa and a .esp and the only thing I can think to do is to put them in the data folder.. which I did. One of my other mods is the Book Jackets mod, standard res, but nothing like this has happened with it before and I've had it in my build for months. any suggestions would be great
  25. Sweet! I think I can call myself... a guy who did stuff with the CS.... now. I think Modder is a bit farther along the road... a large bit. Thanks all! I'll go check out those CS basics soon! this was kinda fun all by itself, so I'm sure getting into actual modding will be way more so!
