  1. Helooo everyone!! With the release of the CK on the horizon I've been throthing at the mouth (just like everyone here, I imagine ) and one of the things I'm looking forward to is re making my recent Oblivion mod Epic Necromancy. However for me, the coolest thing about the undead, is zombies. Yeees, I know we have draugr.... but they just aren't the same I want shufling, moaning, infecting hoards of zombies, and I can't find them anywhere!! They were one of the most enjoyable parts of Epic Necromancy for me and It would seriously suck if I couldn't include them in the skyrim sequal. So, I've had a few ideas for how to create them and all of them would probably require a little help! 1) port the glorious shuffling things from oblivion!! I know theres a whole bunch of reasons that say this is NOT a good idea, most of them legal. But! Surely there are loopholes? Its non profit and in good will and so I'd be willing to jump every hoop presented, since I am not damaging bethesda in anyway. What if they are retexured? their models slightly changed? Would I need to change their anims too? Any knowlage in this area would be highly appreciated. 2)Use a third party resource. Theres got to be SOMEONE thats made zombies for oblivion or skyrim. Anybody have any ideas? Zombified races? Undead creatures? Would I need to import anims? 3)convert the drauger Slight remodling and retexturing, and then new animations, and suddenly I have zombies!! This would probably be the easiest, though I know animating is the damned hardest part of modding (or so I've heard). But seriously all I need is a shuffling animation and a few zombie hit animations and I'd be happy. Theres allready the canabilism animations in game that would look awsome (I'm thinking make a spell with a target of dead bodies (like the reanimate corpse spell) that is pointblank range and triggers a script, causing the canablism animations to play and the body to convert into another zombie) and I've heard something about infected civilians with projectile vomit... so coool! Those are the three ideas that I've come up with having played for a good few weeks. If anyone has found something or knows a differnt way of doing it that would also be good. ANYTHING that could get shuffling, mindless hoards into skyirm would be loved!!!! Thanks very much to anyone that could offer advice (or even better, their skills ) Mysterious Mr Bear :D
  2. With college, Skyrim, and friends and family I havent been on this website in aaages :S If theres one thing that spending time at the nexus remindes me of, its that I miss the Alliance...

Nice to see ya again Mr. Bear..:pints:

  3. Offt thats a complicated script vyper :S Tried to look through it but I don't have much time atm... if you could set a "hasopened" variable to 1 when the activator is opened, and then find where the activator closes and move it into a new block that runs in the same way as the open block, but when "has opened == 1", that should work. Just finding out which piece is which, I guess A very basic question I have myself for anyone with a bit of experience- if I attach a script to a container to reduce a variable by 2 every hour, will that script run even when I am not in the same area? Or do I need to handle this with quests? Thanks, Mysterious Mr. Bear :D
  4. Well I've preorded xbox edition for the sole purpose of not being tempted Though If I get red rings shortly after, I will litterally explode with rage. After that though I'm thinking of taking apart the spell system and having a look, and doing some fun things with necromancy and druids... like a war sort of thing. Note: Druids havn't been confirmed!!! I'm planning on adding them
  5. Testing out my necromancy mod when I realise that I forgot to set the factions on a fully upgraded "Shambles". I panic and summon a minitor from Power Animals. Watching these two Titans duke it out in a church was the coolest thing ever!

  7. Glad to know Im not the only one, lady Thats probably it Andalay! Also begging unnamed parties over private messages for help is quite useful to get my brain moving... -cough- -cough-
  8. Im working on a mod that is very script intesnive. Everything is going fine, and then suddenly I hit a point a few hours ago- now when the .esp is loaded, gamemode blocks behave very strangly. I believe its anything with a gamemode block AND an onactivate block that ends up broken. It is best seen in a scripts with messagebox menus. I have a creature that you can upgrade by activating him, then selecting upgrade from the menu. However, now he doesn't upgrade until I activate him a second time- the gamemode block doesn't run unless he's activated! This isn't just my sloppy scripting though- because I tested it on the messagebox you get upon leaving the sewers and thats broken too!!! whats going on???? Does anyone know of a circumstance where the gamemode block will not run? Because this is really, really worrying. Any help MUCH appreciated. Mysterious Mr. Bear --------EDIT--------------- For gods sake, the amount of times I do this. Seconds. SECONDS. After making this thread, I solved the problem. I try and fix something to 3 hours, no exadurating, no luck. I make a thread BAM INSTANT GENIUS MOMENT and the problem is solved!!!! sorry guys, there must be about 5 threads here now where I've done this. For anyone else who reads this over and has the same problem: The issue was with script spam. An activator had a gamemode block that ran every fraction of a second and every fraction of a second used moveto to move itself to the player. This somehow resulted in all gamemode scripts failing, Im guessing due to some kind of script limit. Hope at least I've helped someone else out, Mysterious Mr. Bear :D
  9. Working on a necromancy mod, that lets you chop up bodies and use the pieces summon 5 types of follower, and upgrade them with differnt branches of upgrades.

  11. Welcome to the forums!! I can't help all the time and I certainly don't know everything but if you have a question I might be able to help! This forum taught me everything I know and put up with my endless questions, its only fair I offer the same :P Feel free to message me whilst your getting the hang of things, I know a fair bit about scripting, building locations and general "Oh my god what have I done someone help me" problem solving :P Take care, Mysterious Mr. Bear :D
  12. hmm, I may just have to use OBME after all in my mod... gives lots of new magic effect slots! Good ideas guys... I may pick apart midas magic first though, but I did want to figure it out without doing so because it feels like stealing.
  13. decided to have a nightcap to help myself sleep tonight, due to my recent sleep problems. I didn't realise that "Thatchers Green Goblin" was quite this strong... result? One rather dizzy bear, and a strange increase in modding ability....

  14. Basicly, the desired effect that I want is to have the player cast a spell, and a boulder to appear above his head and fire at the target. I am attempting this by placing the rolling rock trap, which is an activator, above the players head, then setting the trap off as usual, thinking it would have some kind of ... BOOST to it, to push it forwards. but no... it has the (amusing) effect of plopping down on the players head. So, does anyone know of a way to get the activator to move without prompt? I think it's possible as I've seen it used a couple of times in Midas Magic, but he might be doing something tottttaly differnt. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance Mysterious Mr. Bear :D
  15. hahahaha, thankyou very much I happened to be watching that awsome video where a guy fires some arrows into the air, tells the adoring fan to wait and then when he leaves convosation all the arrows come down and hit him... the adoring fans final words cracked me up so much I had to include it somewhere Thanks guys for cookies and support! Releasing this one has been quite the challange, two updates needed within a few hours... completely my fault obviously but still Talking of which: Anybody who has downloaded and is having issues with power animals going crazy and attacking companions/guards (apprently when they draw their swords) should download the Personality Update I am about to upload... and if your going to download, download that too!! Mysterious Mr. Bear :D
  16. If I thought making a mod was hard work, I didn't know what hit me when it came to publishing. Still up at 4am, and oddly, dressed in a tiger suit. Not sure why. Comfy though.

Publishing isn't the funniest thing when modding. I always need to fight with ModDB too. They require well-written news articles and they need to follow a certain standard to get noticed. Sigh.

      Mysterious Mr. Bear

I was allways too threatend by MODDB to bother... but it seems you played the game and won! very well done to you! :D

  17. NOTE: If you've allready downloaded and are having issues with companions and gurads flipping out and attack your power animal, download the personality update which should fix the issue. If its your first time, download the main file, and then either the Bug Fix or the Personality update- which ever one you want. (I dunno, some people who don't use companions might like the "on edge" feel..." Hi guys, I've just finished my latest mod, Power Animals A public service announcement giving a brief explanation of the mod and a look at its controls! Download - TESnexus Download - TESAlliance Most companion mods are just that, a companion. And most magical Summons, mod added and otherwise, are just that- creatures that can be summoned. I tried to make something a bit more dynamic... instead of having a companion, or a summonable creature, my spell gives the ability to transmute some of your life-force into creating an Avatar to fight along side you, follow you and protect you. But you don't get to choose what your avatar looks like... your avatar chooses you. This whole idea is based on the books, His Dark Materials... some might know this series for the film, The Golden Compass (not that I approved of that film at all...). Every person in that world has a magical avatar that represents them like part of their soul that follows them around. Sailors have a seagull or a seal, great leaders have proud wildcats, etc etc. I've always loved that idea, and I've tried to replicate it here. If your character is a strong warrior that favours heavy armour, your avatar may be a bear. If your character is nible thief, it may be a cat. A ranger may have a hound dog companion, and a blunt weapon wielding barbarian an ogre. Either way each avatar is designed to compliment the play style of its owner. Not only this, but as you grow in power so does your avatar, and this is represented physically. You may start off with a cub, but as you play your avatar will slowly transform into a raging bear, lager than any other in the game! [ Three High Level Avatars it is not only the appearence that is dynamic, I also spent agggesss making the controls fun and easy in much the same way as my WIPZ mod, Elemental Magic (I lie, EXACTLY the same way). You only have one spell to summon, dismiss, and command your avatar. call it to follow with a tap of the cast button and the LMB, set it to attack everything it sees with the RMB, tell it to wait with both LMB and RMB and summon it/dismiss it by holding down the cast button. I have tried to make all this feel as though you are actually influencing a sentinent being, too, and not just flicking a switch- as you give commands, your avatar will glow different colours. (whilst designed to be transparent, there are .esps for transulcency and opacicity too) But thats not all. Each avatar brings a different Power that you may use at will. For example, you may be wondering how a cat would be any use at all. Well activate its power by tapping cast, and it runs away releasing pheromones, causing everyone in line of sight to try and chase it away... whilst you slip past the now vacent guard post. Enter a blood thirsty rage with your hulking Ogre, or scare enemies away with a howl from your wolf, or inherit the hardened skin of a boar and turn your flesh to stone! The Sanctuary Ultimatly, this mod aims to make you feel like your characters are truly unique. Every weapon you use, wether you run or walk, sneak or fight, wear heavy armour or light, all defines what your avatar will look like- I tried to make it truly represent the character You will get a brief explanation of what your avatar is and why it has taken that form, and an explanation of its unique power. This means you can technically keep levelling different skills to see every differnt type of avatar - I won't tell you all the possibilities know this as well- characters with maxed out stats will find a very nice reward... part of which is a choice of two otherwise unavailable avatars! I hope you enjoy, and keep an eye out for Elemental magic- this spell is simply one of fifteen equally big spells, half of which are nearly finished! Mysterious Mr. Bear :D

  20. That is really creepy!!!! It freaks me out when stuff like this happens... something similar happened to me! -shines torch under face- I was modding once when I made a deadric character to test spells on- I had a mess with the face creator for the first time and he ended up looking,... horrific. Like, truely deformed and creepy! When I was done testing I disabled him and put him into a seperate part of the cell.. but due to save game issues, when I loaded it up next about two days later at one in the morning, I heard a deadra roar and turned round to find a messed up deformed AI that shouldn't be there attacking me! I nearly screamed it made me jump that much!!!! :P I have decided that in all future releases I will add in some way of detecting when the player cheats, and when he does... he gets my creepy faced deadra following him TESA needs a ghost stories campfire thread!
